AAre you sure it's an iPhone 4, the highest iOS is 7, but a 4s can be on ios 8. Update the iOS on the 5, then restore it using your 4 backup

Check you are logged into your store account properly (settings > store). Also check there are no restrictions set that might be causing this (settings > general > restrictions) -
I have just got an iMac 21" and it continuously freezes when it goes to sleep and also when the internet is trying to load, i have tried three different browsers but it still does it (safari, google chrome and firefox), does anyone know what is wrong?
To fix the freezing when sleeping problem go to System Preferences>Energy Saver and set 'Computer Sleep' to 'Never'. It seems there is a problem for some with Bluetooth failing to wake after sleep. This fixes it 100% for me and many others on here, until Apple issue a software update to address it.
Not sure what to suggest on the internet problem. I assume you are connected and receive and send emails OK.
Edit: To try to troubleshoot the internet issue maybe try turning the Firewall off: System Preferences>Security & Privacy>Firewall tab. -

As deggie said, you are the victim of Activation Lock. Activation Lock is described here:

Either you need to contact the previous owner to release the phone from Find My iPhone, or if you cannot contact the previous owner, it is likely you received a stolen iPhone and it will be useless to you. -
I have just got an iPhone 4s on vodafone. I'm having problems with 3G, at the top it says Vodafone E, usually it would say 3G wouldn't it? At the moment my 3G isn't working. Anyone know what to do?
Yeah it does have that on/off switch and it's turned on. Siri won't work for some reason, I don't know if it's to do with this E thing?

I have an i-pad and have just got an i-phone but want 2 use a different I cloud? I've set up new email account and apple ID, but I can't change the I-cloud settings, can u help PLS??
The procedure is Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>Add another email address. The email address has to be a valid working email address, obviously. Apple should verify the email address and you have to go to the inbox of that email account, read the verification email from Apple and follow the inductions in the email in order to complete the verification. Then you go back to the settings, uncheck your email address and check the new email address to be used as the contact email address.

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

If the Settings app on your iPhone is not behaving correctly, first force close the application using this method:

i have just got my 3gs back from my daughter and i have put my sim card in and it comes up as emergency calls only. That is my first problem then when i plug it into itunes it only recognises it as her iphone can anyone help my please ?
I agree with wjosten. Sounds like a sim card issue. Was your sim card removed from a working,activated phone? I've switched sim cards in an iphone multilple times and never had a problem. You might try removing the sim card and reinstalling.

I have just purchased a mini ipad and am looking for a pay as you go connection, not a contract and would like something for up to 90 days. Can anyone advise me which is the best deal.
