Very frustrating. Have read the trouble shooting info on Apple website but nothing has worked.
Someone please help. I cannot access any of my music.
Open Finder. Go to the "Go" menu in the menu bar. Press and hold Control and click on Library. Go to "Preferences". Find a file named, "com.apple.iTunes.plist" and delete that file. This won't delete your iTunes content. It will reset iTunes. Try it again.

I have an elitebook 6930. I bought it offline used and it had some PGP encryption thing on it and was a part of a network...so needless to say i really have no access to anything on it until I get it restored to factory ssettings...so i found online that i had to decrypt the pgp files then it could be removed, well i decryted them and it still cannot be removed...not an option!
This comps sticker on the bottom say windows 7 pro yet the os on it is old school windows xp!
I want it back the way it came, windows 7 and everything wiped....now here is the issue...I have no access because i am not the administrator of the network it says. I have tried using a windows 7 recovery disc, it boots fine but then get an error when i try to install it....pressing f11 does absolutely nothing. I have went thru every other option there is and cant get nothing to work. Now it doesnt even load windows at all! I tried doing it in safe mode even and it just locks up....PLEASE HELP!!!!Many business users chose to use the downgrade option to XP until Windows 7 had been out awhile longer ,which may be what happened on your machine. Where I work, most all of the machines still run XP.
Recovery Disks contain the OS and all drivers/software for a specific model. A plain Windows disk contains just the OS.Not sure which you have, but a true Recovery Disk set will not work on any machine.
It really sounds like you have a Windows Repair disk which requires a backup image to repair an installation.Could you confirm what exact disk you have?

I am so glad that I ran across your post. I had been reading "solutions" to this problem all day, and most of them said to install/unistall/re-install itunes! No way! I knew there had to be an easier way, and you had it. Just a few clicks, and that was it.

I have just updated to itunes 11 and when I plugged in my ipod classic it locked up. When I tried again it said my ipod was corrupt and advised I reset it. I reluctantly did this as I lost all my music and now itunes just locks up when I plug in my ipod.
Not if you first do a sync and have iTunes make a backup. However, if your only copy of the iTunes data is in the Touch, then you need to first copy the data to a new iTunes Library using third-party software such as Phone To Mac.

i think i might have a solution... i have windows vista and after i installed to latest itunes update everytime i tried to open it it would freeze. I tried everything, including uninstalling itunes and all of its components and reinstalled it numerous times. So i went to the itunes folder in my folders, not on itunes, and i deleted my itunes library and playlists. After that it worked just fine, all of my music was deleted but luckily i had my files saved elsewhere.

If you bought it the Mac App Store it shouldn't be asking for a serial number.
If you bought from the Apple Site with your web browser disregard these instructions.
What I would try:
Move Aperture (the application) from the Applications folder to the Desktop.
Log into the MAS using the same Apple ID you used to originally purchase Aperture.
Do a fresh download and install
If Aperture works now trash the version you moved to the Desktop.

I have a macbook pro 10.8.5 and the Application Safari will not open no matter what i do, I try to open the menu of Safari but it won't let me either, the mouse will just be loading. I bought a second hand G4 iBook with iLife 09 on it. I have copied iLife to my new Macbook Pro. The applications would not open, so I did a software update and update all three applications, but they will still not open. Can anyone help?
The seller should have given you the original disk so that you can reinstall as needed. But it likely was a single-user license (which really means single computer) so you can only have a copy on one computer at a time. If the seller didn't give you the disk he is probably still using the software on his new Mac. Your best option to get any of the iWork apps to use in OS X 10.6.6 or later is through the Mac App Store. You can then install them on any Mac you have that has access to the Mac App Store using your Apple ID.
