I have Mac Lion 7 on my desktop and want it on my currently 6.8 laptop so I can use stuff like mission control, do I have to purchase an upgrade, and if so why not just go to Mountain Lion on both?

If both Macs qualify to upgarde to Mountain Lion you only need to purchase Mountain Lion one time. You can re download Mountain Lion on the laptop using the same Apple ID for free.

Keep the old OS around and just kick the tires and test new OS. Apple has a history and habit of breaking support in things like this.
You can use TimeMachine as one level of backup, and even there there were changes with Lion, I would always recommend foremost backup clones of every volume. And clone (SuperDuper etc) can be stored on something like HP NAS Media Server which also was supporting TimeMachine, iTunes - until Apple made that harder and more their own proprietary format.

Rather than "upgrade" I would clone the system, and do a clean install, then allow Setup Assistant to import your files.

You can only do this on a Lion/Mountain Lion Mac or an iOS5.6 device. If you don't have these how did you manage to add storage in the first place? If you are a MobileMe migratee you would have been given an additional 20GB as a concession but this expires on 30 September and will simply be removed if you don't pay to upgrade it, so you need do nothing if this is the additional storage you are concerned about.
If you did somehow manage to purchase extra storage and now wish to downgrade it you will need to contact Support.

Using different templates for the desktop and phone versions of the same blog

I have a site which was created in Adobe Muse and is hosted on Business Catalyst.
I have created both a desktop and a phone versions of the site.
I want to know how I can integrate the blogs that I currently have on the desktop site with the phone version that I just did, using different templates for the desktop and phone versions of the same blog. This is in order to ensure that visitors to the blogs on the website are directed to the templates that render correctly for the devices they are using.
My current approach has been to create both a desktop and phone versions of the blogs. The problem with this however, is that the dates are different and the comments are separated between the two blog versions!
I have also tried enabling mobile templates in BC, but still couldn't find a way to specify the mobile versions of the templates for the same blog?
To recap my problem, I basically need a solution where the same blog uses different templates for desktop and mobile (both templates use different navigation headings and menu styles)

There can be few reason for this, including page contents links or contents used in phone/tablet version.
Please provide the site url , also try to publish the site as a trial site in Business Catalyst with all layouts which would help to isolate the issue.

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, including separate backups. I'd suggest giving each device a unique name, to make things easier.

If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
• iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay
• DVD Studio pro - Part of FinalCut Studio Pro bundle - this to has expired and can only be bought second handed. (High price and tough learning Curve - but best ever done.)
• Roxio Toast™ - Not as elegant as iDVD - but has many other positive additions (I like it as 10-Pro incl BD-component) (now version 11)

On windows movie maker you could just select "fit to music" but this program isnt as easy to figure out! Any help?

Double-click on the still image in the project timeline to open the Inspector. In the Inspector, adjust the duration by typing in a new duration to match the length of your music. I think the limit for a still image is 10 minutes. If you need more than this, simply drag the image into the timeline again then adjust its duration. The two images will play seamlessly (no gap will be visible).

You can achieve more precision when entering durations by changing a preference in the menu item iMovie Preferences. Check (tick) the preference for Show Time As HH:MM:SS:frames. This will enable you to enter the duration of stills down to the frame level, rather than full seconds (NTSC is 30 frames per second; PAL is 25 fps). When entering times, type a colon between each time segment, such as 2:50:15, which represents 2 minutes 50 seconds and 15 frames. For 5 seconds 20 frames you would enter 5:20 and so forth.
Note that the music will only run to the length of the video in the timeline (in your case, the still images). So, after increasing the stills duration you will need to drag the end of the music track as far as required. The stills can be dragged inwards to reduce the duration if necessary.

I have a 2008 13" Mac Book and want to put a solid state drive in it

I installed Lion firdt and then Clones my hard drive to the solid state drive but it has issues.
I tried to do a clesn install on the solid state drive but the install will not complete

The macbook originally came with OSX Leopard, which I upgradedto Snow Leopard.
I then increase the Ram to the full 4Gig and then upgraded the OS to LIon OS 10.7.5
I decided to swap the original hard drive with a Kingston SSDNow 100V+.
I used Carbon Clone to clone the original Hard drive and swapped the drives.
The issue I am having is that the sytem freezes and I get the pinwheel and have to push the power button to shutdown. The sytems restarsts but I never know when I will get the pinwheel.
I have taken the SSD out and put the original drive back in.
I did try to do a clean install onto the SSD by reformaytting the SSD but at the end of the install the installer loops back to the beginning, or I get the pin wheel again.
Is it possible that the Kingston Drive is not compattible?
