I have lost my bookmarks while changing DC-server. What can be done to retrieve?

I have 2 issues.
#1 I have a small home network with a domain controller which crashed. Now when launching FF, my bookmarks have disappeared.
#2 I copied over the profiles folder and FF locked up. "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." I've rebooted, changed properties to not be read-only, un-installed/re-installed all to no avail.
Is there any hope of recovering my bookmarks and getting FF back up and running?

You can restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
*bookmarks-####-##-##_xxxx_$$$$.json

Best is to only copy the files (personal data) that you need.
That could include all SQLite files and key3.db and logins.json for passwords and cert8.db (intermediate certificates) and other .json files and .js files like sessionstore.js for the tabs and windows.

When this happens to a new user the two most likely causes are:
Aperture opend a different library that is empty. To check this go to File->Switch to Library. You'll get a window that looks somehting like this:
Of course the names for the libraries will be different. What does yours show? Is there more then one library listed. If you select Other/New you get this:
The first library in the list is the currenttly opened Library. What does you window say?
2. The other possibilty is that you have a filter set on the library keeping you from actually seeing the images in it. Go to the Library tabb of the Inspector and select the Photos icon. Make sure the search box looks like this:
If neither of these two actions clear up your problem post back.

Lost emails while transferring to IMAP - What can be done?

Hello everybody.
I'm running 10.8.2 and Mail 6.2.
I have a collection of old emails (90K ish) that I recently imported to local Mail storage.   It took me a while to do some sorting but finally got my emails into a few folders.
I wanted to upload the mails to my current IMAP server.   I started uploading folder by folder. As you can imagine it takes a while. Folders were of various sizes 1K - 10K emails in size. Most of the time everything worked well.
At one point, as I was uploading (moving) about 5K emails I noticed that the upload took a very short time. I wasn't completely sure it had in fact finished and uploaded everything or it was a partial upload. I wasn't paying close attention so I wasn't sure if they emails were moved. The local storaged didn't seem right, the emails didn't appear to be there. Not all emails appeared in the IMAP folder either.
It appears (though I'm not 100% sure) that at some point my internet connection had died and that killed the upload. But the upload wasn't cancelled correctly and now the emails didn't appear at either end.
I checked afterwards with a copy of my unsorted emails and in fact some emails were missing.
I haven't lost any data, I have all the emails in the original storage. However, they are not organized and I have no easy way to know which emails are missing on imap. Probably 2-3K emails are missing out of 90K (not in a simple range like date).
Question: Anyway, before I re-do all the sorting work and start uploading thousands of duplicates while I waste hours cleaning things up I was wondering if there is a log of some sort that Mail keeps with these sort of transactions.
Also, I wanted to give a warning to people performing these sort of tasks that you might lose emails if you're not careful.

If you don't trust the syncing via mail, you can check and verify the IMAP account on the server with some form of webmail, depending on the ISP or server host. If nothing else is available, this site should work.
On your Mac, Mail might indeed think that the move had been finished successfully and deleted the mails locally.
If they are not on the server, then you'll need to get them from the original storage.
With activity like this, it's always better to split up the load into more smaller packages. Uploading 5000 emails at once is risky, IMHO...

What problem are you having downloading that you need help with?
I don't know where they hide the downloads for Elements nowadays, and whatever they have done to their site has made even finding their products that much harder. But you can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

Of course it changed. A phone's IMEI number is unique to each phone. The IMEI number for a phone does not transfer to another phone.
Since your iPhone was exchanged under warranty without having the box and bill for the original purchase, you don't need it now either. The exchange under warranty remains under the warranty for the original purchase.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Generally speaking, your bookmarks are private to your computer, and if you set up multiple Firefox profiles on your computer, to the one profile.
Your bookmarks might be available to you at another location if you used the Sync service. In order to connect a new computer to the Sync service when you aren't near your old computer, you need a recovery key. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/share-bookmarks-tabs-and-more-your-other-computers#w_what-if-im-not-near-my-first-computer
If you didn't use Sync or can't access your account, someone with access to your old computer could email you your bookmarks. Since there is a range of different ways to do that and the best choice might depend on what you can expect the person you ask to be able to do... could they start up Firefox in your profile and follow menu steps to export a file? Could they drill down into a hidden folder on the system, zip a file, and mail that to you? Etc.

Bookmarks can appear to be lost when there is a problem with the file that stores the bookmarks, in this case that is the places.sqlite file.
You can check the places.sqlite database file with this extension.

If that didn't help then try to remove all places files in the Firefox profile folder and that includes It is possible temporary SQLite files like places.sqlite-shm and places.sqlite-wal besieds the places.sqlite file.
Remove all places.sqlite file(s) in the Firefox profile folder to make Firefox rebuild the places.sqlite database from the most recent JSON backup (bookmarks-####-##-##_xxxx_$$.jsonlz4) in the bookmarkbackups folder.
If that didn't work then you can restore the bookmarks from a compressed .jsonlz4 backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
The xxxx in the "bookmarks-####-##-##_xxxx_$$.jsonlz4" name denotes the total number of bookmarks (folders and separators included) stored in the file.

I havent' took any backup of my notes in icloud. The moment I enter the password after restore my notes will be empty. The only option to get notes back is that after restore skip entering icloud password. But any time I enter icloud password anywhere again my notes will be empty. I have huge data saved in my notes. Apple need to look into this issues very seriously. This is the 5th time I restoring my iphone today just to get my note back.

With your machine you should have received a couple of disks, one of which has application software or even a separate iLife disk...use that to reinstall the iLife software and update from there.
