I have lost my iBooks and iTunes and iBooks does not load plus I cannot download anything from my app icon.does anyone know what the problem is.
I cannot use iTunes or iBooks and my iBooks library is blank although I have purchased books in the past. Also I cannot download anything from my app icon. Has anyone experienced this and if so how do I correct.
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Your Desktop Picture settings and Dock items are stored in the files
/Users/your short user name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist and
/Users/your short user name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist
in the "Preferences" folder in your user library. This looks like the system has trouble to write to these files. Check the permissions on your user library and remove the above files from your user library, then log off and on again.
Your user library is hidden in Lion and Mt. Lion. To reveal it, use the Finder's "Go" menu. Select "Go" in the Finder's main menu bar and hold down the alt/option key, until you see the "Library" in the drop-down menu. Double click it to open a Finder window, so you can browse the files inside.

Iphone6 doesn't play music (have tried obvious things like volume etc and plugged in headphones, connected to a speaker via bluetooth, and tried to play from the inbuilt speaker). Does anyone know what the problem is and how it can be resolved?
You can't buy the part from Creative as a spare.
I'm not sure how compatible other parts might be, but that would be a question for someone who really knows a lot about this area of electronics.
The Creative repair for this is likely to be expensi've, but the problem is most likely a broken solder connection than an actual new headphone socket. So if you know someone experienced in surface mount soldering you could probably get it repaired just with this. -
I am using chat-r wireless and facetime is not working but when i put rogers fido or any other carrier sim in it work. Anyone know what the problem?
I'm guessing it's a compatibility problem similar to that that T-Mobile in the US has. I'm not familiar with chat-r wireless, but I'm guessing it's not a supported carrier for the iPhone. If they can't tell you how to fix it, I'm guessing it's just plain not going to work.

My Apple TV will not update to the latest software, dose anyone know what the problem is, I've reset, tried to do it wirelessly as well as while connected via Ethernet cable.. Both have resulted in the same message!! Update unsuccessful, current software version is 5.1 (5201) . I've rented a movie recently and does not appear in my movie list, but I have been charged for this movie, can someone help me out with these issues.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.
If when you choose restore you get a message that the device cannot be found, download the file below
Apple TV Software Restore 5.1.1 (2nd generation)
Apple TV Software Restore 5.1.1 (3rd generation)
Then hold down the option key while choosing restore and select the downloaded file when prompted. -
I have an .avi file Quicktime is refusing to play, yet the information says Quicktime does play .avi files. Does anyone know what the problem is?
AVI is a legacy file container originated by Microsoft back in 1992 and which has not been officially supported for more than a decade. Like the container, many of the codecs commonly used to create AVI content are also "legacy" compression formats most often supported on PC/Windows platforms. In fact, some codecs have never been transcoded for Mac use. Of those that have, many never made the transition to Mac OS X or the transition to Intel-based platforms. Those codecs that are still supported on the Mac can normally be found in the avi to quicktime converter available as an online download. While some common AVI compression formats may be supported by the QT X Player app, QT 7 currently provides a more compatible AVI playback environment for most "legacy" compression formats. If the codec(s) used in your AVI files are not supported by the avi to quicktime converter for QT use, you can try the VLC media player which may still support more esoteric compression formats. If VLC does not support the files, the normal approach is to discover which specific audio and/or video codecs were used to create the file and perform an Internet search to see if a compatible Mac component is available for download.

On my Mac Mini, I keep getting this error message: "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server". I don't have any problems with iCloud on my laptop / PC. It works fine... Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Your Mac must be on Lion (10.7) to run iCloud. Apple had to change the operating system to fully support it. Nevertheless, it is possible to get emails from iCloud without having Lion. Please tell me if this interests you.

I just purchased a new macbook pro. Have had it about 2 weeks. Last night there were 2 thin lines that are on the left side of the desktop, 1 green and 1 blue from top to bottom. This happened after I added a printer. Anyone know what this is. Fearing that is a flaw in the screen.
Sounds like a hardware problem. You'll need to contact Apple ASAP. Since it's so new, hopefully they will just replace it rather than making you go through the repair process, but that's up to them.

this morning i turned my music on and the volume wouldn't go down, and every time i tried to turn it down it just kept going back up. If i were to hold the volume slide down while playing the music it would make a sort of chopping sound in the music. I finally restarted it and it fixed it but i was wondering what the problem was.
Did you already try to reset the ipod by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?
If this does not work, restore "as new device" without using the latest backup, in case it contains corrupt files.

Hey guys, just got a new CD for Christmas and I was trying to import it onto my ITunes. I haven't had a problem like this in the past, so don't know what the issue is. Maybe it's something with the latest ITunes update?? Anyone have a solution?
Thank you.Since I couldn't think of anything else to try on my computer, I took a shot in the dark and tried the disc on my sister's computer. It is a Dell also, but a different model so not sure if that was part of the reason it worked. So I would say try it on a friend's computer if possible.
Anyway, when I tried it on her computer the album opened up on Windows Media Player.
From there, I ripped it to her computer, then saved the album to my USB flash drive.
I inserted the USB into my computer, and copied the abum to my ITunes Folder.
Then, I opened up ITunes, clicked, File ---> Add Folder To Library", then selected the Album Folder.
Since it was originally a Windows Media Player File, a message came up on ITunes saying the files would be converted to AAC and I clicked "OK" or whatever the option to proceed read.
I had to add all of the song/album info manually, since the songs weren't imported directly to ITunes.
So like I said, pretty complicated fix but it worked for me haha. Hope it helps you, if you have any other questions feel free to ask. -

For some time now, my appstore app shows an update available for CodeBox, which I did not buy. When I try to update it it asks for my ID and password (all normal), but then it gives an Unknown Error.
I am 100% sure I didn't buy the app, I do not see any transaction on my card or in the appstore apart of this one, so does not seem to be a hack.
Does anyone know what is happening, this is a tricky thing which is making me lose trust in the payment/account system that Apple is using.

I work at a school running 10 iPads. We connect to the internet through a proxy server. Prior to iOS7 we had no issues, the devices still on iOS6 work perfectly.
All devices which have been upgraded to iOS7 cannot download apps. I can find the apps in the store, choose to download them, but the icon hangs for a while before returning the "app cannot be downloaded at this time message". Help.I have this same exact issue. We have even put all apple servers as not even being filtered by proxy and it still wont download anything. Nor will it let us even log in or create a new acct in the app store. It seems its also not just app store related....as it won't even let you check for IOS updates when a proxy is entered.

I'm glad you found the coupons.com app and you might also want to take a look at the GroceryIQ app from the same company. Please note that at this time, printing is only support from iPad to HP wireless inkjet printer. That's most likely the reason why your Canon isn't displaying when attempting to print. The other way to go might be emailing the coupons you want to your email address, then open that email and print from a conventional desktop or laptop computer.

Hi. Bought iwork family as a download rather than on DVD. Want to transfer to other macs in household. Apple told me to transfer to USB stick and then put on other macs. Doesn't work and get message saying "keynote cannot be opened due to a problem". Same problem for .pages and .numbers. I have reinstallled but same problem. Have checked system requirements and everything seems fine.Any one have any ideas how to solve this. Thanks
I'm an applications developer and also run a part-time videography business. As such, I require more than 3.12GB of RAM. That is the physical limitation of a 32bit system. Pointless to stay on 32bit if you plan on having more than that much RAM.
I'm also not about to pay someone to fix my PC when I can do it myself. I was originally hoping for someone who had experienced the problem before to point me in the right direction so I didn't have to spend so much time trying to figure out what the issue was for myself.
Basically, in the end the problem was caused because right at the point in time when I chose to uninstall, and reinstall; Apple released a new version of iTunes. This version in turn had a requirement of iOS 4.2 to sync with the iPhone. This is a pretty embarrassing for Apple that they would release software reliant on other software before said software was released.
Had I realised I was downloading a newer version at the initial point of installation, this wouldn't have been an issue. I could've easily have rolled back iTunes to the previous version and gotten on with my life.
Another issue is that iTunes is not actually a 64 bit application. It masquerades as one to allow installation on the 64 bit platform. -
Hello there ive just downloaded 2 albums from itunes store and found that they only play for a short while and then flips onto another tune which again only plays for short while so on and so forth which makes the albums completely useless does anyone have a solution?
Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.
