I have lost my IMac email. Help please
I am not able to download emails on my IMac. It works on my IPad and IPhone but not ont he IMac.

In my case and others, installing Mountain Lion scrambled the settings for the Incoming Mail Server and the Outgoing Mail Server for EACH account and so I had to manually re-enter those settings.
You may need to open "Mail">click on the word "Mail" in the upper left hand corner of your screen in the menu bar> click on Preferences>click on "Accounts"> enter your "Incoming Mail Server" and "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)" settings that are provided by your ISP.

Did you change the Apple ID for an existing account? Or did you create a new Apple ID? If you created a new Apple ID, your balance will still be tied to the old account and you'll have to log into the iTunes Store using that old account to spend the balance. If you changed the ID on an existing account and can no longer see a credit balance, go here:

Having the imei won't help you find your phone.
If you setup and enabled find my phone prior to losing it then go to icloud.com
If you didn't set it up - then there nothing you can do.
Call your carrier and let them know, change all your passwords. -

If you mean that you cannot remember the password for your WiFi network this will work for you - or it should work if you are the administrator on the Mac.
You will need to be logged in as the administrator on your Mac and you must know the password - Open Keychain Access on your Mac in the utilities folder, click on Passwords. Find the Airport Network Password listed on the right. Double click on it. Click on show password in the the window that pops up. Enter your administrator password when prompted and click allow.
If Keychain is locked - you must enter the administrator password there as well to unlock it and access the password.
If you have set the Mac up for Internet Sharing for the iPad to share the Mac's connection, just create a new network On the Mac with Internet sharing and a new password. -
I am confused about Icloud. I have a 5 year old Macbook, a 2 year old macbook and a 5 year old mac mini. What exactly do I need to do to get all this connected via Icloud. I also have an Iphone 3G. Help please! Also, I still don't understand exactly what the benefits are. At the moment it seems a lot of hassle to change a system that's been working perfectly well and that I'm very happy with. I'm not at all sure whether the mac mini (1.66 GHz INtel Core Duo) can be brought up to the relevant spec to run ICloud. Any thoughts?
There are two aspects to iCloud. One is simply getting an account, or migrating a mobileme account to iCloud. The second part is using the various features of iCloud to sync contacts, calendars, use music match or photo sharing, and store iWorks documents.
First to get an iCloud account:
If you have a mobileme account, you can migrate by simply logging onto www.icloud.com (ignore any references to Lion and just click through to complete the migration). If you have OS X Lion or an iOS 5 mobile device, you can create an iCloud account on that device using any valid AppleID.
Once you have an account, you can use JUST the mail account if you wishi - it is a standard IMAP account so you would set it up like any other IMAP email account you have, in whatever client program you use to read email.
To use the OTHER feautes of iCloud, your computers will have to be running OS X Lion (10.7). Your iPhone 3G will never be able to use iCloud as it cannot run iOS 5 (you need a min. of an iPhone 3GS to run iOS 5).
The requirements for OS X Lion are here - http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html You need a min. of a Core 2 duo processor so you mini is not capable of running Lion.
So, in your case, the single reasons for iCloud would be if you have a mobileme account, then use the online www.icloud.com to migrate your account so you do not lose your @me.com email address. You can use iCloud email (without using any other iCloud features) by setting it up as IMAP mail with these settings - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864
If you want an iCloud account and do NOT already have a mobileme account, you will need to upgrade one machine at least to Lion in order to be able to create an iCloud account. -
I have my gmail account sorted into folders. the folders are suddenly and mysteriously empty. I have lost some important emails. How can I restore these folders?

I have used my force9 emails for a few years with now problem on my laptop and also for maybee 6 months on my iphone4s but after syncing with itunes on my laptop i have lost all the emails & email setting of my phone.
I also back up on icloud and tried looking on there on my laptop but there is only my icloud emails and not my pop3 force9 emails . There are all my contacts there butwhy does it wipe my emails and settings and how can i get them back.

This sounds to me like a hardware issue. Take it to an Apple Store or Apple authorized repair service.

When I call I can't hear the ringing sound or the other person talking to me unless I have the headset plugged in or when I have it on speaker. Help please !
Mine does this intermittently. Occasionally after dialing the number, I can’t hear anything. I routinely have re-dial and sometimes this does not work either. Sometimes if I close all applications, including the dialer, then restart the dialer, it will work again. Sometimes I have to close all programs and restart the phone. It’s definitely frustrating.

Help!Versions of Word on Windows make a backup file with the extension .abk, if that has been enabled in their options, I do not know whether the Mac versions do, or whether you enabled it but try using Spotlight to search for .abk or just abk.

Your phone is carrier locked to a carrier other than the one you are trying to use.
It was apparently hacked to unlock it prior to your attempt to update. Updating has re-locked it to the original carrier.
Contact them and find out what their policy is. -

If you search these forums for Mac Mail problem you will find many many posts similar to yours and many many others about not being able to send or receive emails when it worked fine a few hours ago or yesterday.
It is because the built in Mac Mail program is one of the Worst Email clients ever written and WILL, not can, Fail at any time.
So if you want to not have any of these type problems in the future stop using Mac Mail and switch to some other, Any Other, Email client/program.
I suggest Thunderbird as I have been using it on both Mac Lion and Mt Lion and on my Windows PC for over a year without any problems on either platform or OS version.
