I have lost the search messages function and the "sent" file under my second email address.

The search function to search messages that have been sent to me has disappeared. I also have to email addresses in thunderbird. The first one displays all my sent messages. But there is no "sent" option under my second email address

Lost search tool? That sounds as if you have lost a toolbar, or have lost a tool from the tool bar. Either way, I hope the following will help:
