Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 AirPlay Mirroring is compatible with Mid 2011 and newer MacBooks Air, and OS X Mountain Lion.
As you have Mac OS X Snow Leopard, you haven't got a compatible MacBook Air, so you can't use AirPlay Mirroring. However, you can use a third-party app as AirParrot to mirror the MacBook onto your Apple TV > http://www.airparrot.com

My external hard drive that I use as a backup is not being recognizedc by my MAC PRO.  Usually I get the icon for the backup, when I attach it to my computer, but that isn't happening.  What can I do?

Well, I tried all of your suggestions and they didn't work -- no surprise because I was trying to backup to my external c.d. disk.  Duh!  The application for the home is in the mail.

  • Sry guys,I accidentally removed my mac appstore. How can I get it back ???I have mac os x 10.6.8 .someone tell me how can I get the mac appstore back????:(

    hi

Yes, if you download and apply that update, the App Store will be reinstalled on your drive. Much faster though to retrieve it from a backup if you have one.
As stevejobsfan0123 noted though, if all you did was remove it from the Dock (not sure what you mean by "application list"), then it's still on the drive and all you need to do is put it back on the Dock.
Open the Applications folder on your hard drive. Is the App Store program in that folder? If so, there's nothing to restore or reinstall. Just drag and drop it anywhere on to the Dock to restore that icon to the Dock and you're done.

  • I am running 10.9.4. on an older Mac (mid 2007). My iPhoto is 7.1.5.  I have no access to photos on iCloud. The icon does not even appear. I've been told that an iPhoto upgrade may not solve problem. Advice?

I have no access to photos on iCloud. The icon does not even appear on my mac or in iCloud.
The Mac is running 10.9.4. on a mid 2007 model.
    My iPhoto is 7.1.5.
I was told that my system was too old to support the required upgrades that would allow me to to see photos on iCloud; thus, I should not be the latest iPhoto.  Accurate?

All you need to do is upgrade your iPhoto to iPhoto 9.5.1 thru the App Store.  This screenshot shows which previous versions of iPhoto are compatible with Mavericks.  It also indicates which versions qualify for a free upgrade to iPhoto 9.5.1 and which require a purchase:
Note 1:  every day more users are reporting problems with iPhoto 8.1.2 so I've included it in the non compatible category.
Note 2:  If your previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 application on the library before opening it with iPhoto 9.5.1

  • I have Mac Pro with Keynote and other essentials installed. How can I download the same on my IPAD without paying to download.

Try downloading them onto the iPad normally. If you're asked to pay for them, you can't.
The developer needs to create the two versions separately.

  • Have a 10.6.8 mac and the icloud icon does not appear on the system preferences

    Hello,
I have a 10.6.8 mac and the icloud icon does not appear on the system preference, even if I'ved upgraded the software.
    Renee

The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is now non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price (though it's reported to have been removed from sale in some countries so may well cease to be available generally) but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

Will not work.  To my knowledge, dual converting like that isn't supported.  The Mac must detect the connected video output device and that sort of info cannot be done across an analog component uni-directional connection.

To check your model go to About This Mac (by clicking on the Apple icon, top left) and then select more info. If you wish to use mirroring you will need one from 2011 or later running OSX 10.8 or later. The alternative would be to use 3rd party software like Airparrot.

Reload it from the original source. If you got it with the computer, that will either be the computer's original disks or the Mac App Store depending on what its original OS was.

  • I have turned on home sharing but the house icon does not appear. Have read a blog that says it is not set up correctly am i missing something here?

I had home tuning running fine on my mac. Since introducing apple tv the home sharing house icon is missing and will not allow me to drag and drop from home sharing. I have read other blogs that say if the house icon does not appear then home sharing is not set up correctly. Any suggestions as it seems to be running fine except for letting me move files.

see if anything in this support article helps.
