I have managed to lock myself out of my macbook pro only 2 hours after purchasing it..................... was playing around with the profile info, eeeeeeeeeeeeeek !  How do I fix this now?

Did you set a password?
If you didn't just press enter.
If that doesn't work you can reset your password by following the instructions on this link http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CBkQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fsu pport.apple.com%2Fkb%2Fht1274&ei=KFBWTu2PG47fgQfUx-SMDA&usg=AFQjCNHRcV70YpDn2AVm 9t8b0Sc-bjYSJg

I have managed to  lock the landscape orientation on my iphone 3 - any ideas as to how I unlock it please?

Im not aware that you can lock your screen in landscape so I'm assuming you have locked it in portrait and want to allow it to ne seen landscape, therefore double click the Home button, swipe the icons to the right, you will see an icon with a circle-arrow. That is your screen orientation lock.
Assuming again you have iOS5 have a look at the following for more help, page 21

  • I managed to lock myself out.

I'm almost afraid to ask this, but:
I have a MacBook Pro and I have OSX 10.4.6. I'm using the the security vault. When I try to log in, I get an message window saying "You are unable to log in to the user "michaelmorgan" at this time. I can get to the master password and reset the password, but even when I do, it still gives me the same message.
I'm pretty sure that the permissions aer scrambled, but how can I get to them? I only have one account on the computer.

I've found this in another topic

A couple of things happen during a normal login to a "Filevault" account - the user is authenticated with the "login password" allowing them to log in, and the home directory contained in the encrypted sparse image is unlocked with the "Filevault" password and mounted so that their "home" is ready to logged in to. By default for "Filevault", the "login password" is the same as the one used to unlock the disk image (which makes Filevault convenient, but potentially less secure than storing data on a stand-alone encrypted disk image, but that's another story).
I'm not up on the situation in "Tiger", but in "Panther", the "Accounts" pref pane has built in safeguards so that an "admin" can't change another user's password if the account is using "Filevault". This did not apply to the installer disk and changing the password using the utility on the installer disk only resets the "login password" and the password on the encrypted disk image remains unchanged - ie. the "login password" and filevault password may be out of sync .
In "Panther" this didn't prevent login but the user was logged in to an apparently "fresh" account because the system fails to open the encrypted disk image and just dumps the user in their default directory - maybe this has changed in "Tiger" and you get the dialogue instead...
Anyway, if that is what has happened, and assuming the ".sparseimage" isn't corrupted or anything, it should be possible to access the contents of the ".sparseimage" file by either changing the "login password" back to the old password using the installer disk, then logging in normally, or by mounting the ".sparseimage" from another account using the old password (note that this may mount the image in a less secure manner than a normal filevault log in).
In the future, when changing the password of a "Filevault" account, make sure to use the "Accounts" pref pane while actually logged in to the account.
    I hope willbe useful

  • Help, I have locked myself out of my macbook air and there seems to be no way back on.

I have literally just got my first mac computer today (a macbook air) having previously been a PC user. Needless to say, I am not familiar with how to use them at all and am pulling my hair out here trying to work out why I have been locked out after just 5 minutes of using it.
I guess there must have been a setting on it to automatically log me out after a certain amount of time as I left my computer for a while before returning and came back to a login screen. It is now prompting me for a password to get back into my mac - even though I didn't even set one! When I click the ? button, it says i should go to appleid.apple.com to reset it from another device, but I have tried this and all it allows me to do is reset my Appleid - not my computer password. (By the way, have also tried typing in appleid password with no luck.)
Has anyone got any tips? I have tried running multiple internet searches across the forums and have found nothing even remotely close to helping me. It seems so ridiculous for something so simple - especially as i never even set a password!!!
Any help much appreciated - I am on the verge of throwing this machine across the room and I've only just got it.

Did you purchase your MacBook Air new?  Do you still have its box?  Locate its serial number and telephone Apple at the number shown at the bottom of this page (1-800-MY-APPLE if you're in the U.S.).  They can help you.

Since you will not be using your syncing computer,
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

I need assistance, I have completely disabled my iphone by locking myself out with a passcode that I have entered incorrectly numerous times

If you restore the phone from backup, on the last computer your phone was synced with, this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer the phone synced with, you will have to force the phone into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

Can someone tell me how to get back into my phone after I apparently locked myself out?

Did you set an alternate password?  If you didn't, or if you can't remember it, did you activate Android Device Manager on your phone and associate it with your Google account?  If so, then you may be able to use Android Device Manager to unlock your phone.  Otherwise, you'll have to do a factory data reset (and all your data will be lost unless you've backed it up somewhere).

  • I need help turning on my apple Ipod device i locked myself out

I need help turning on my apple Ipod device. i have locked myself out.

If problem try the items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I locked myself out of my phone and am out of the country without access to a computer only an iPad to email and access iCloud  how can I get into my phone

    Hi Myreiac,
Here's what the Apple Support site says you can do if you do not have access to a computer when your device has been disabled:
If you are using Find My iPhone, you can use Remote Wipe to restore your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode.
You can access Find My iPhone via the Find My iPhone app on your iPad.
    Good luck!

ive locked myself out of iphone how do i unlock?

If your iPhone is unlocked for more than say a month or so then you need to take it into apple however if it is only a few hours you can connect it to iTunes and follow prompts. But that only works if you can remember your password. If you have any more questions just ask.
