I have Microsoft Office 2011 Student Edition installed on MacBook Pro; Can I install Microsoft Office Windows 2008 onto Mac without deleting Microsoft Office 2011?

I have previously installed Microsoft Office Student Edition 2011 on my MacBook Pro.  While installing Microsoft Office 2008 Windows; message prompts to delete Microsoft Office 2011.  Is there a way around this issue?

Office 2008 was a Mac version. The equvalent Win version is 2007. So there is no "Office 2008 Windows." Which version are your trying to install?
Are you using Boot Camp to run Win on your MBP and want to install Office for Win there? I can't see that being a problem..
I do know that the regular version of Office Mac won't run properly if the trial version is present. The installer is set up to look for other versions, resumably to keep the trial version and the regualr from clashing.
Office Mac 2011 is equiv to Office for Win 2010

Office Mac 2004   "    "     " Office for Win 2003

Hold Option key when starting - that gives you the option to choose between startup disks.

No it doesn't. You need to purchase it from Microsoft.

  • Help on installing Lightroom 5 on two computers... I have used it on a PC, but now I have bought a MacBook Pro, can I install it with the same license? If not, can I delete it on the PC and use it on Mac instead??

    Hi all,
I just read, that you can't install lightroom 5 on the same license on two different platforms because of different services provided.
Is it possible to delete the PC-version and continue solely with the MacVersion!?
kind regards, and thanks in advance
    Andreas

Unless things have changed your Lightroom purchase can be used on two PC's, 2 Macs, or one of each.  You just need to download the Mac version and install it on the Mac.  You should not have to do anything with the PC installation.

Since I got no answer, I gritted my teeth and forced a restart. The machine booted and let me start over on the decryption process. No apparent errors (so far). I got lucky.

  • Installing Windows 7 onto Mac without a disk drive

    Hi everyone,
I am trying to install Windows 7 to my mac. I've followed numerous instructions and nothing is working.
    I have:
-downloaded the windows 7 iso file
    -created a bootable usb
    -downloaded the additional drivers
-downloaded DAEMON to trick my mac into thinking a disk has been inserted
-mounted the windows 7 iso file on my mac
I then started bootcamp to install windows and it goes as far as selecting the size for each partition but when I click next it stops and won't go any further... An error message is displayed with "Your disk could not be partitioned", "An error occurred while partitioning the disk".
Is anyone able to help? I've tried almost everything !
    Thanks

    Hey.
You are doing things the way I would do them.
Double check that your ISO is good by downloading it again for good measure.
Then before running BootCamp, use Disk Utility to repair any dodgy permissions and to verify the disk.
This is always worth doing before BootCamping.
Now when you get to the dark side and it asks you to select a partition, make sure you are clicking on the "BOOTCAMP" one, which I assume you are.
Below you will see "New". Click that and all should be good.
Let me know when you've tried this.

  • Early 2008 MacBook Pro can't install Mac OS X

My Early 2008 MBP has a dual hard drive configuration. The stock HDD has all my documents and data on it, the SSD that used to have OS X installed had to be formatted. I tried to use Recovery Mode to reinstall OS X, but the install screen stops at the very end of the installation and says that it could not download the necessary files for the installation. I have tried installing on both of the hard drives even with previous versions of OS X only to yield the same result.

Check the device and check the volume in Disk Utility. Device must be partitioned in GUID Partition Table scheme. Volume has to be in MacOS Extended (Journaled) format. Erase and repartition as needed.

  • I already purchased OS Lion and installed in Macbook pro, how to install the same in other Mackboo?

I already purchased and installed OS Lion in my Mackbook Pro. Now I need to install the same OS in another MacBook,
    How to do this?

    1 OS = 1 Device
Buy it and download it again on the other device.
Multiple installs only apply to schools and businesses who have a license agreement to do that. In effect, we've already paid for all the devices.
If you're a school they sent instructions on how to do multiple installs.

I'm sorry but you are incorrect, the licensing for Lion allows buying 1 copy and installing it on All computers you own or control, no limit.
To the OP, go to the App Store, hold option key and select Purchased, you can download it again (provided you are logged in under the same Apple ID)

  • I have a MacBook Pro, iPhone and Ipad. For over 4 months i've been receiving email on all three devices. Then all of a sudden my iphone and ipad can't download my email. Have i accidentally done something so only my MacBook Pro can download/receive email?

    Please help!

You have 10.6 on that machine, I suggest you stick with it for performance, third party hardware and software reasons as long as possible.
Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)

Far as your Safari problem do these things until it's resolved:
1: Software Update fully under the Apple menu.
2: Check the status of your plug-ins and update (works for all browsers) also install Firefox and see if your problems continue. You should always have at least two browsers on the machine just in case one fails.

  • LabVIEW 2011 Student Edition on Mac Installation

    Hi
I installed LabVIEW 2011 Student edition on my Mac with the OS Mac OSX Version 10.7.1 Lion edition.
At first it wouldn't install (I had installation failure because Lion OSX is 64 bit and not 32)
I used the intructions as demonstrated in the link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3773
as I found in the forum thread of:
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Installing-LabVIEW-2011-for-Mac-OS-X-10-7-Lion-fails/m-p/1653742?req...
After I changed to 32 bit, the apple terminal warned me by doing so I wouldn't be able to save stuff correctly.
The software installed after I used the directions for 32 bit mode, but for some reason it did not say I was in 32 bit mode on the Apple activity monitor, it said 64 bit.
I went to the terminal and used the instructions to turn the operating system into 64 bit (even though it already say it was in 64 bit, despite LabVIEW installing, which requires 32 bit). I rebooted the computer, and I was able to use LabVIEW 2011.
    My question:
Once LabVIEW 2011 Mac student edition is installed in 32 bit mode, can it be operated when the computer is in 64 bit mode?
    thanks
    Solved!

    Hi JoeGanser,
Booting your Mac into OSX 64 bit should still enable LabVIEW to run, even though it is a 32 bit program. You will encounter problems however when using NI-DAQmx Base, NI-VISA or NI-488.2 drivers while running in 64 bit mode.
I have found a KnowledgeBase Article, which explains why this is the case.
Please let me know if that answers your question, please post back if you have further questions.

    Hi Joe,
Have you ever successfully opened LabVIEW 2011 on your Mac?
Also, can you tell me what processor does your Mac has? I want to make sure that there is not a compatibility issue here. Please reference to LabVIEW Version Compatibility with Mac OS PPC and x86 Processors for the compatibility list between LabVIEW and Mac.

  • I have a new MacBook Pro with iPhoto installed.  I edit photos, mainly photo orientation via rotating, but when I go back to run a slideshow the changes weren't saved and the photo is back to vertical...please help...thanks

I have a new MacBook Pro with Iphoto installed when purchased.  When editing a photo, primarily orientation changes, the slideshow initially displays the photos in proper orientation.  However, after leaving Iphoto and shutting down the computer, and then going back to run a slideshow the photo displays back to its' original orientation, that is, the edit-change was not saved.  Please help...the program information says all edit-changes are automatically save and therefore there is no save command, but my changes are not being saved...thank you for any suggestions...HM

  • HT1338 I am trying to update Microsoft Office 12.3.3 on my Macbook Pro, but once it is installed terminal opens. What am I supposed to enter into Terminal?

I am trying to update Microsoft Office 12.3.3 on my Macbook Pro, but once it is installed terminal opens. What am I supposed to enter into Terminal?

Still trying to understand.  You install one of the MS updates (most recent was 14.2.2) and after the update completes (before the installer quits) terminal opens?  Or the installer quits and then terminal opens?
And who is prompting for "Check for updates" ("get taken back" to what)?  Is this coming from office, say when you run Word?   Certianly the updater doesn't cause this prompt.

Use a product such as OpenOffice, LibreOffice, Google Docs, iWork, or Microsoft Office 2008 or newer. In the case of Word documents, you can also use TextEdit.
