I have multiple Apple IDs, can I delete one and/or merge my accounts?

I unintentionally have multiple Apple IDs. I just switched to an iPhone and the store employee created what is now my 3rd apple Id. Is there a way I can I delete the extra accounts so that I can have my email addresses all in one place? Or is there a way to merge my accounts?

1. No. Only Apple itself can delete Apple IDs; if desired, click here and contact them.
2. No.

If you haven't set up your own Apple ID already don't.  I suggest you use the same apple ID as your wife's.  The alternative is to do this http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848.  It's not efficient as you have to swap apple id's to update apps under both IDs.  20/20 being hindsight, I would have never created a 2nd apple ID for my wife.
    Hope this helps.

  • I created 2 apple IDs, can i delete one.

I created 2 apple ID's. One with an email I dont' really use and have the mail forwarded to a newer account and the other was created using my me.com email that I don't use as my email either. I'd like to keep the first apple ID, its the one that is used most. But then I can't tie my me.com email to my icloud because it thinks that it is a separate person ans asks me to choose a different me.com amil user name. What can I do? Can I delete one or both and start over. But I have purchases on the first account I dont want to lose.

I think I can answer this, based on my own frustrating experiences with Apple IDs.
... I can't tie my me.com email to my icloud because it thinks that it is a separate person
    That is correct.
Can I delete one or both and start over.
No, not to my knowledge. Once created, an Apple ID exists forever.
You described the problem correctly - you created a @me.com Apple ID that you use for iCloud, and it would be simple to use it for everything. I think that is what you ought to do.
Delete the email address associated with the first Apple ID, since that ID doesn't correspond to an email address you use any longer anyway. Then, add it to the @me.com account. I have attempted to have identical email addresses exist for two different Apple IDs and it didn't let me, though I have heard of people who did this successfully. I cannot explain the discrepancy.
Once you delete the email address from the first Apple ID, it may take a few moments for their system to recognize it is no longer associated with anything. After that you should be able to add it to the @me.com account.
But I have purchases on the first account I dont want to lose.
That's a problem. The purchases will remain with the first Apple ID. It's up to you to determine if they're worth purchasing again, since that is what will be required if you intend to associate those purchases with the @me.com ID.
If anyone has any better ideas please let me know.

  • Multiple Apple IDs, need to delete one!

Somehow I mistakenly created two Apple IDs. The first one is the one I currently use. The only problem is that I don't have access to the email address listed. The second, I do have access too and want to use this email for the first one. It won't let me change it because it already shows an account, the second one, listed. I already have my devices synced to the first account as well as many purchases. I want to delete the second one but use the email for the first one to retain all my purchases and receive any correspondence from Apple. Is there somebody that could direct me to an answer? Or better yet somebody that could arrange this so I can once and for all get this problem taken care of?

We are fellow users here on these forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple - I've asked the hosts to remove your email addresses from your post (it's not a good idea to post personal info on any public forum).
You cant delete an account, all you can do is remove any personal info from it (any downloads that you made with the account will remain tied to it). If you want to use the email address on the first account then you should be able to change it on the second account by logging into it e.g. via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone or via http://appleid.apple.com (if you don't have another email account to put on it then you could create one via http://gmail.com or http://hotmail.com). You can then try putting on the first iTunes account.

  • Two Apple IDs... deleting one and content lost?

I have a several year old Apple ID that I must have created a while back, but didn't use much as I only had an iPhone... but it has my current gmail email address
When I got my new iPhone, ipad and Mac, I couldn't rember what my Apple ID was (nor did I realize how difficult it would be resolve this issue in the future) amd created a second ID with an old comcast email account.  We are now getting rid of comcast and want to change the Primary email address for Apple ID to my current email / gamil account.... but I get an "email already in use" error message
Understand that I can not combine the content, purchased into a single ID but I am OK loosing the content, the price to pay to work around a difficult software.
How do I delete the apple ID with a gmail account and then after I delete that I can change the email addres on the comcast account back to my primary gmail account?  Is there a way to see the amount of content associated with my two apple IDs?
    Thanks
    Rob

You can't delete an account, but you can try logging into the old account via this page and change it's primary email address to be something else : http://appleid.apple.com - you can then try updating your new account to have that new email address on it.
You can see the purchase history of an account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes - if you log into your account via that then on your account's page there should be a Purchase History section with a 'see all' clickable link next to it.

  • HT204053 Can you have multiple apple ids that access one itune account??

I need to know if I can have multiple Apple Ids attached to one itunes account.  Trying to set facetime up on these separate devices and it keeps failing.  Any help would be appreciated.  I tried to add additional emails, but I all I get is verifying and it never verifies it.

yes you can still sync all the devices on itunes using one master itunes/appleID account.
    Music:
If you want to select specific playlists for your kids, DON'T enable iTunes Match on their devices, otherwise they will get ALL the playlists on their devices (learned that the hard way)
If you have wi-fi synced enabled that should still work.
    Apps:
I manually select which apps they get on their devices using itunes. It only changes when they re-sync.
Don't enable AUTO downloads on their devices for Apps or Music purchases.
Since I also have young kids using these devices:
I have restrictions setup on their devices. I don't allow them to install/delete apps, nor do I allow them to make any account changes on their devices. This way their devices stay in order and get backed up to icloud. I can easily restore their devices if I needed too.
Once in a while I will disable the restrictions so I can update all their apps.
    Hope this helps!

Yes - I connected my phone to my computer / Itunes and went into the apps section, but from there I have no idea how to manage the push notifications.  I even tryied going into itunes that is installed on my phone.  I still cannot find anyplace to manage these popups.  I have also gone into settings - notifiations - and tried turning all notifications for these apps all off but that didnt work either.  Any guidance is MUCH appreciated - Im not sure where to go from here.

  • I have two Apple ID, how can I delete one and use the email address associates to the main one?

I have two Apple ID, how can I delete one and use the email address associates to the main one?

If you abandon one of the Apple IDs you will also basically be abandoning any content that you have acquired with that Apple ID. Content can only be updated and re-downloaded with the Apple ID that was used to buy it. Apple will not combine the content of Apple IDs and Apple will not transfer the content from one Apple ID to another Apple ID.

  • I have multiple apple ids. I want only one. How can I do this?

I live in two countries and can't download anything as it seems I am always in the wrong country.... This is complicated by my having multiple apple ids. When trying to reduce this to one, I lost all my previously bought apps. Never mind. However it seems that I have not yet achieved this..... And now to boot I am unable to buy anymore apps as I appear to always be on the wrong country. How can this be?
As I have spent MANY hours on this, I am happy to start again, and if I continue to fail, I think I will leave apple for good.
Any patient soul willing to help?

    Hello,
What two countries are you living in? Are certain apps you have downloaded in one country not available in the other? The only solution I can see is to start new with a new apple ID or you can use one of e two you currently have. What do you mean "And now to boot I am unable to buy anymore apps as I appear to always be on the wrong country." This could be a problem with the firmware in which a restore may be necessary. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck. Don't forget to click this helped me or solved my question if this helped you. Thanks

  • TS1741 How do I have multiple apple IDs on one Apple TV 5.3

I have looked and looked but I can't find a way to put both mine and my boyfriends apple IDs onto this Apple TV that I just bought him.  It's the 5.3 version, I went under general, settings, and then iTunes Store, and there isn't a accounts option, it's just a sign in option so how can we both use our phones as remotes?

Well, you could save multiple Apple ID on your Apple TV, but you can't use them at the same time!
To add and manage multiple Apple IDs on Apple TV, follow this guide:
How to add, manage multiple Apple IDs on the same Apple TV
