I have OS 10.6.8, how do I update so I can get PS CC?

I have OS 10.6.8, how do I update so I can get PS CC?  I need at least 10.7....I'm lost as to what I need to do.
Thank you

Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

    Hi,
Your best bet at this point then is to contact iTunes Support and get them to straighten this out for you:
    https://expresslane.apple.com/Issues.action
Select the options that best apply to your issue. You will have a chance to provide a written description before you submit. iTunes Support will get back to you via email, usually within 24 hours. Be sure to check your Junk/Spam email folder if you don't hear back by then.
They should be able to sort it out for you...
    Good luck!
    Cheers,

If you didn't already do so, authorize your computer for the new ID by opening iTunes and going to Store>Authorize This Computer.  Then sync your phone with iTunes.

    Settings->General->Software update.
    Recommended before updating:
Be sure to BACKUP up your iPad before updating, preferably to both iTunes & the Cloud.  If something goes wrong, you'll be happy you did.
Make sure your apps are up to date.
Delete any apps that you no longer use.
    Clean up emails & messages.
    Settings->Safari->Clear History & Website data
I also like to do a soft reset prior to updating to clear out any cache files:
Hold down the home & sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears then let go & let the iPad boot up normally.
When updating make sure your iPad is connected to power and/or fully charged.  The update can take a LONG while so be patient.  Sometimes the Apple logo screen looks frozen but it's not.  Also make sure you have a stable internet connection.
Many folks suggest updating through iTunes is less troublesome so if you can connect your iPad to your PC/Mac & do the update that way.
    Hope this helps!

Always backup your important data before upgrading to a new Mac OS X.
Lion doesn't erase the drive but better to be safe than sorry.
And run Disk Utility  (Applications/Utilities). Verify and if necessary repair the startup disk before upgrading.

You probably don't. CS5.5 was a paid upgrade, not free, and it is no longer distributed by Adobe or resellers.

You can upgrade to Mavericks free, just run the App Store program and search for Mavericks. But before you do upgrade I recommend the following:
    1) make sure you have a recent backup. TimeMachine is fine.
    2) Mavericks is somewhat more memory hungry than 10.7 was. You will need 4 GB of RAM and I strongly recommend 8 GB.
Go back to the Apple menu and select About this Mac - look under the OS info you just looked at. You'll see how much RAM your computer has now. Then click on the More Info button. There you will see your computer info listed as in: iMac, 21.5" mid 2010, for example. Return back with that information and we can tell you how far the computer can be upgraded.
If you decide to procede and you have enough RAM upgrading to Mavericks is quite simple. Click on the download button and let it do its job.

i have OSX 10.5.8. How do i update that so i can sync with current apple products?

Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?

  • My ipad died all my college notes are on ibooks as a PDF have I lost them all or is there a way I can get them back

my Ipad died I think because I did not update it.  All of my college notes are on I books is there anyway I can get these notes back on I books also I have no idea how to check if I even stored them on the cloud.  My IPad is still under warranty as only 8 months old but have been told that it will be reset to factory settings by Apple anyway?

If the books were purchased at the iBookStore, you will be able to redownload, like the apps. Some other sellers, like O'Reilly, also allow multiple downloads.
If you have (or can install) iTunes on a computer (Mac preferable, not mandatory) and run it then plug the device in, does it show up? If the computer can detect it, you can and should do a complete backup onto local storage immediately. That can then be used to reconstruct the content of the device on a new or repaired replacement. If you enable encryption, even the passwords will get saved.

  • HT1146 Anyone know how to setup email so you can get a Read Receipt?

I would like to know how I can setup email in Mac so I can get a 'read receipt' once the recipient has opened my sent email.

The process is described here, though that is several years old. As far as I know it still works in 10.6.8. However, use it at your own peril. Also note that just because your messages request a receipt does not mean that the recipient's email client will send one - even if the client has the capability, many users will have it turned off. Apple's Mail hasn't the capability.

  • I restored my ipod 4th generation but i lost all of my photos. I used iCloud but i have never synced with itunes. Is there any way I can get my pictures back?

On the settings I went to iCloud then went to storage and backup and it saus total storage 5.0 gb and avaible storage is 2.7 gb but all of my photos arent there. Then when I click manage storage it says camera roll 2.0 gb is there any way i can get my photos back? please help

If you use the same iCloud ID and before you will get your contact, calendar and notes and other iCloud things back. If your previously has PhotoStream one you will also get back the last 30 days of photos.
It appears you do not use the same iCloud ID.
What do you see for Contacts, Calendar and Notes when you go to icloud.com and sing in with the same ID. You need a computer browser.
