I have OSX 10.5.7 on my Intel Mac. When I try to login using the correct password the screen goes white and just returns back to the login screen. It does not jiggle like when you enter the wrong password.

I have had a number of issues with my Intel Mac recently and had to reboot using disk utilities, safe mode, OSX recovery, but always come back to the login screen but when I type my password the screen goes white and returns to the login screen. My password is correct and the login does not jiggle as it would if the password was wrong. Please advise,

Back up all data if you haven’t already done so. There are ways to back up, even if you can’t log in. Before proceeding,you must be sure you can restore everything to the state it’s in now. If you’re not sure you can do that, STOP.
The procedure below may spare you the need for a clean reinstallation of OS X. If you don't feel comfortable carrying it out, don't. try.
Briefly, you need to delete the following file:
/var/audit/current
If you already know how to do that, you can skip the rest of this message. Do it, and try again to log in.
Boot in single-user mode by holding down the key combination command-S at the startup chime. If you’re using an external USB keyboard, it must be plugged directly into a built-in port on the Mac, not into a hub. Release the keys when you see a black screen with scrolling white text. In this mode, there’s no graphical interface; just a command line. Initially, you can’t make any changes to files.
When the text stops scrolling, and you see a line ending in a pound sign (“#”), type the following command:
mount -uw /
You must type the command exactly as given, with no mistakes. If you don’t feel able to do that, STOP. At this stage, no harm will be done if you make a mistake, but later, it will be. Press the return key.
Next, type the following command:
rm -i /var/audit/current
Press return. You should get the following output:
remove /var/audit/current?
If that's not what you get, STOP. Type the single letter N, press return, and try again. Otherwise, type the single letter Y and pressreturn.
Finally, enter the command:
exit
Press return. The text will start scrolling again, and then the system will reboot. Try again to log in.

That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the hard drive data is somehow corrupted.
Put your install DVD into the drive and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the optical drive.
Once it has finished booting and you are at the Install screen launch Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is then select the First Aid Tab run Repair Disk and if that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.

I had recently updated from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 and thus had to re download Adobe Digital Editions. I downloaded Version 4.0 but the problem seemed to be with the authorization between the e-reader and the computer. While in ADE click the help button and click erase authorization then re do your user id and password. It worked for me.

Every time I switch on the iPhone, the iTunes icon is displayed together with a USB icon and Emergency call message appears on the screen in many languages. When I touch the i symbol I get the following information IMEI: **** AND ICCID: ****
However, the iphone is visible in the Devices directory in iTunes. I changed my SIM card but still can not be recognized by the iPhone.

Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:

At seemingly random times, firefox freezes, and if clicked the screen goes white and says not responding. At times it makes watching any video impossible. I have tried everything I've seen in help forums. I've removed and reinstalled firefox, adobe, silverlight, realplayer, and anything else forums have suggested. I bought my iPod off of amazon just around the end of January of this year (2012). Last night I was playing around on my iPod. Listening to pandora, and editing pictures. I got to a picture and clicked edit, and then my iPod shut off. It rebooted itself and seemed to be running as if nothing had happened. I put my music back on and went back to the picture and tried to edit it again. I clicked the edit button and the ipod shut off again. This time, it kept rebooting. It went to the apple symbol to turn on and about thirty seconds, the time it normally takes to turn on, the whole screen went white and then shut off and tried rebooting again. It kept doing this over and over again. After a while, it did eventually stop, but only to a completely white screen. It was like that all night long because I fell asleep. (gave up on it). It is now the afternoon and after I held the lock button and the home button down the screen when off. I let it sit for about a half an hour, then I tried turning it on again. But it still is doing the same thing. I have no idea what I could have done to make it do this. Unfortunalty, I am not home to connect it to my own iTunes, but regaurdless, it wont even connect to the computer. I did have my ipod plugged in the whole time it was rebooting and shutting off last night. It was connected to my wall jack which normally works fine. But even having it plugged into the computer as it is now, its still doing the same thing. I am dissapointed that I might end up loosing everything that I have on it. I have not been able to sync it to my computer to save all the apps and pictures and music I have stored on it. I really do hope I can get some help or advice!

HT5706 I have not used my apple tv in a few years, and just got it out of the bag. I connected it up, and it cannot set date, time. it also does not interact with the remote. Could it be as simple as a new batter is needed for remote?

My Firefox screen at the top does not look like what you show at your help site, so I can't customize or learn how to do things

I am running Windows 7 Professional and am not adept at using the Windows platform. Firefox on my computer does not look the way it is shown at specific "Help" topic pages, so I can't get the help needed. Three examples: 1. How to click on a link so it opens in a new tab; 2. How to customize the options; 3. How to get rid of the "Ask" web site window.

On Windows, you can switch between a classic menu bar and a compact menu opened with an orange button with the word Firefox.
You can switch between these using one of these methods:
* right-click a blank area of the tab bar and turn Menu Bar on or off
* View menu > Toolbars > Menu Bar
* orange Firefox button > Options triangle > Menu Bar
Does that help?
To get to the tab preferences, you can do this:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Tabs
To remove the Ask toolbar, you can go here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
You might still have to do a little cleanup after removing an extension, if it changed your home page, new tab page, search provider, etc. Please describe any remaining problems in more detail.
