Can you download large files from other places apart from the App store, wondering if it is the App store or your internet connection.

Whoops, I think I should have posted my message here...Anyway, I'm trying to download Bioshock Infinite from the app store but get a message saying I don't have enough disc space. The game requires 30 G and when I look at my internal hard drive it shows 60 G free.

It means you do not have enough Space on your Device and need to create More Space on Your Device by Deleting some items off your device. -
I have recently purchased some apps from the app store and after downloading them, the icon that appears in the dock changes to a different icon. It is now the same icon appearing on all newly downloaded apps. Does anyone know what is happening here? Even updating an older game app resulted in the original game icon changing to the new identical icon that all new apps are appearing with. This new icon is like a page with a ruler, pencil and paintbrush. Any tips on how to stop this or how to revert to the icon as it appears on the app store would be appreciated.

thanksI've recently upgraded my stuff with a Mac Mini Server and downloaded Logic from the app store with absolutely no problems at all. I'm on 10.7.3 with an i7 processor and 4Gb memory (yeah, may as well put another 4 in as well, I know).
Logic 9.1.6 is running very smoothly for me, but I think I'll go to 9.1.7 because there is a malfunction with time stretching regions in the Arrange window that the update's meant to fix.
A lot of your experience with downloading the additional content, apart from Logic itself, will depend on the speed of your internet connection, but the software handling of that aspect seems quite good - best to just load one lot of stuff at a time and see how it works out. -
I have been trying to download apps from the app store and every time it tells me there is a problem with my previous billing and direct me to put in new billing information and every time i do that it still will not let me download any apps.

I just downloaded iPhoto upgrade for my Macbook. I just bought Lion and wanted to upgrade my iLife suite. I downloaded this and it works great. I looked the other day at the App Store and saw it said upgrade beside iPhoto. I clicked it and it told me to sign in as the username I bought the upgrade from. I am in the correct log in.
Also I have Lion and it is amazing but it says download beside it. I have Lion and I don't need to download it again. I click it and it reinstalls it to my computer just to tell me that it cannot be installed. Whats up with these situations?Welcome to the Apple Support Communities,
I had a similar issue and it was an easy fix for me. First you need to log out of your account completely in the Mac App Store. Quit the application. Re-open the Mac App Store. Click log-in, enter your Apple-ID and password. Now when the screen pops-up that has all of your billing/credit card information on it DO NOT select done. Instead select View my Account, then select View hidden purchases. There you should be able to find iPhoto. Hope this helps if not let me know. I'm still searching solutions for you.

I have purchased an app from the app store and cannot seem to download it, the download statrs and then rapidly cuts out, it will not complete and seems to repeatedly go over the same few Mb. I have previously downloaded large files and not had a problem with them.
I have tried restarting, checked my hard disk (and repaired a sector of the disk) and checked my connection but this seems to have no effect. I have also disabled virus protection and my firewall to see if this has an effect. I have also downloaded other (free) applications to test it since then and some of these download but not the larger ones. Has anybody else encountered this? I downloaded the mountain lion from the app store and it downloaded. When i installed the mountain lion it said that the hd disk is broken and cannot be repaired, and the other disk doesnt have enough space! HELP and i cannot return to my desktop with the old sofware so i cant use my computer normaly
This error means that your hard drive is badly corrupt and cannot be repaired by Disk Utility. Since you say you don't have backups, this is very bad news. You may already have lost data irrevocably.
First order of business needs to be backing up whatever you can, but this may be difficult to do if the machine won't start up any more. See step 1 of the following post:

I recently bought logic pro x from the app store and now i want to update to 10.0.4 and its saying it wasnt purchased here???!!! sort it out apple very annoying!!
Although there will be many here that will sympathise with your situation, this is a user to user forum. Apple don't come here. The store (if you go to apple.com) now do real time chats. Failing that you'd need to call them to sort your issue out.

Sorry no mind readers here so you have to tell us details, context and any error messages - just stating an abstract problem that could have thousands of causes is not enough
What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? what has changed since it worked? How are you trying to open it (clicking on the icon in the Dock, double clicking on the application in the applications folder, ???)?
Anything else you can tell a total stranger who can not see you or your computer to let them assist you?

This error message could result from an incorrect setting for date and time, or an operating system which does not have the latest updates installed. It's a good idea to have your location setting on automatic. Turn on the wi fi in your mac for a minute or so, to allow it to automatically search for your present location. Do this even though you have the correct time Date settings displayed.
