I have recently purchased a Panasonic TZ30 but I find that although still photos with upload into iphoto movies will not. I use imovie a great deal and find that I am not able to use the movies from my camera. Can anyone explain please ?
Can anyone esplain why I cannot upload movies from my Panasonic TZ30 camera? I able to upload stills and I was able to upload movies from my previous Panasonic TZ5. Since I use iMovie a gret deal it is very disappointing not to be able to use the videos from my new camera.
What format are you shooting? AVCHD? Not all versions of that are supported.
A note on AVCHD: This format was developed for people who are shooting to edit the material afterwards. If you're shooting to edit, then iMovie or Final Cut are the correct home for this material. If you're not shooting to edit consider using one of the other video formats on your Camera.

I recently changed my apple ID but my previous apple ID is associated with my icloud account. I'm setting up my new iphone 6 and cannot complete the set up until I can sync my icloud account. Does anyone know how to change the icloud id?
Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPhone and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your phone). -

You can only update the iPad to iOS 5.1.1and you cannot go any higher. If you never updated that high, you can do so by using iTunes on your computer. You will have to connect the iPad to your computer with the cable and launch iTunes
You can read more here. Make sure that you read the section about using iTunes. The article starts off with using the Settings on the iPad for WiFi updates. That only works with the iPad 2 and higher that is already running iOS 5.

Recently purchased a Panasonic Lumix but cannot download video from camera to my Mac.
I recently purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS10 and have taken several videos with it. I am able to download the photos to my Mac but not the videos. Does QuickTime support doing this?
iPhoto does not support mts files, you need to convert them to mp4 using Handbreak, and then you can add them to your iPhoto/iMovie gallery.

It sounds like you are experiencing multiple issues with this iPod Nano 5th Gen. From what you are describing it seems we can isolate this to either the software or the hardware on the device with a couple of simple steps assuming you have tried another set of headphones. First, reset your iPod with this article:

Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.
If you are able to reset it, but the issue persists, or you are unable to reset it, I would next attempt restoring it with iTunes:

hi, i am really new to photo shop and i have a logo design which i need to have the background made transparent from a white square? can anyone assist please?

is the background apart of your image or is the image on a different layer?
if the white background is on a different layer you can simply delete the layer for the layers window which you can find in Window>Layer. you will need to delete the background layer by dragging it into the little rubbish bin icon down the bottom right of the layers window.

If you pulled out an existing router.. then you have a modem.. what modem is that? Explicit details help loads.. and loads.. and even more loads.. we cannot guess solutions without knowing the setup.
But you can simply configure the TC in bridge mode.. do it directly connected to the TC with ethernet wire.. LAN TC to computer and configure it in bridge.
Then setup wireless any way you want..
You can turn it off and still use the wireless on the old router.
You can setup a new wireless network.. and connect to that.
Or you can setup roaming network, ie use the same wireless name and same security settings and password as the existing router.. assuming it also has wireless.
Do nothing at all and it will still work.. -

That's just Gatekeeper telling you the program isn't codesigned.
You can override it by ctrl-clicking on the installer and selecting Open from the contextual menu. It will warn you just like it did before, but it will allow you to click the Open button to go ahead and install it. -

Is this a NAS type of setup (of which I know very little)? Mine is not a response based upon strong technical knowledge but iTunes seems to have problems with those. Just about everybody has issues with iTunes but you say it is not fit for the purpose. What is that? I bet for 99% of people it does. Not everybody has 8TB collections they are trying to use with a RAID structured external server. iTunes is really a mass consumer piece of software. Yes, many people have expanded beyond internal drives, but NAS arrangements seem to add levels of complexity beyond a direct external drive that is Mac formatted and at most served by an Apple brand wireless router which I suspect is probably how everything is tested. Anything more is fortuitous in terms of support. Except that you say the library files are on the external drive too it sounds to me like the server is asleep when you say it cannot find files and then suddenly can when you go to find one.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Hi,
I have been rebuilding our iTunes library on a external hard drive, no problems to start with. The pc crashed the other day and I lost some of the files.
I can see the music files on the external hard drive, but I haven't been able to get iTunes to pick them up as being the library despite following the instructions to map the drive under 'preferences' in iTunes. I have added new songs, these are being saved in the folder on the external hard drive and are showing in the library pane on iTunes, any suggestions how I can get the other files to show in the library? The proper way to use backups is to restore the photos to their original location, but you probably don't want to do that as you said your old hard disk was almost full. Thus, the solution given above will solve the problem.
