I have safari 5.0.2 on my Mac Book Pro, can I download Safari 5.1.9 and install it on my Mac Book Pro to up date it or will it cause any problems?

Backup your system/data then start up holding down Command + R and select to reinstall your OS X. You have not mentioned which OS X you are using. If you have somehow deleted the Safari App for some reason, you need to reinstall the OS X to reinstall Safari properly. You should not lose any data, but if you do, then that is what the backup is for.

If iPhone music is not on iTunes Library, you need a 3rd party tool to help you

I have just tried to connect my Mac book pro to an LG Plasma TV via an iWires Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable. All I get on my TV is the Mac wallpaper and nothing else. I am missing something really silly, could anyone help please.
Hi there. I also bought an iWires mini Display port to HDMI cable and have an LG LED/LCD TV. I plugged it in to my MB Pro and followed the very small writing that came in the package and got both audio and video going. You need to change the audio settings from within System Preferences on your Mac to select your TV as the audio output.
My concern is the data latency - do you experience a delay between moving your mouse on the MBPro and the TV displaying the movement? It is only a fraction of a second, but certainly enough to be annoying, especially in a cable as expensive as the iWire. -

I agree with Chris CA that this is the way I would *expect* iTunes to behave.
When I look at iTunes from my account (my music is in ~/Music/iTunes/ and not available to my spouse's account), I can see in my music library all my rips and my purchases, just as I would expect. I can use Store>View My Account (<myAppleID>) and all is as expected. Home sharing is NOT on.
Doing the same from the other account is not much different, actually. Nothing in the library yet, of course. Store>View My Account (<herAppleID>) also works. I CAN authorize my computer to play her music. I CAN view her iTunes purchases. When I attempt to download the purchases to HER library, though, I get the following dialog box:
Now I interpret this to mean that this computer (mine) will not download from a different AppleID (also mine) for 90 days. Is that [interpretation] correct? -

Hi, the last install dvd that came out for mac's was Snow Leopard,10.6.3. Lion is a download from apple. You cannot just install it over Yosemite. You would have to backup your drive to save files you want and do a clean install. You might want to look into getting more memory. I have downloades Logic Pro 9 onto my older modfel Mac Book Pro 1,1 with OS 10.6.8 and 2 GB RAM, according to the rquirements for Logic 9. the program should run on OS 10.6.8. with 2 GB RAM, 4 GB better, but it won't open. Is my configutation too slow?
Looks as if you're just at the minimum specs - http://www.apple.com/logicpro/specs/. Says 2GB minimum, 4GB recommended. And 2GB of RAM is all the RAM the 1,1 can handle. If I were you I would call Apple's App Store service center - you have the minimum requirements, as I read it, but perhaps you need a faster processor?
I had a 1,1 but sold it when I bought my late 2011 in March of this year - maybe it's time to look at a new machine?

i have a slight crack in my mac book pro screen it is just on the top of the screen and the LCD display is working fine. i was wondering how much it would cost to fix it/ replace it. it is not a pressing matter but if it is cheep to fix then i would like to do so

I have been taking screenshots on my mac book pro and they have been saving to my desktop. However when i try to move them into a folder, they don't move at all! I have changed my setting in view options to 'none' but they still don't move?
Got to your Desktop folder in the Finder sidebar, command i will open the info pane.
What are your permissions here? Unlock the pad lock and Change to read write.

iTunes in Mac OS X Tiger is outdated. Open > Software Update to install the latest iTunes version for Tiger.

After buying Snow Leopard, make a backup of your data, insert the DVD and upgrade to Snow Leopard. After upgrading, open > Software Update, and install the latest Snow Leopard version. Hallo, my AC adapter Mac Book Pro G4 shorted. Got a new one, and the laptop did not react, not even the snooze light came on. Is it possible that it got damaged inside? Which part, in that event, got damaged, and where do I look inside the laptop for which part to replace? Did anyone of you had similar experience?
If you keep getting a 'red' message it means that the HDD is faulty and will have to be replaced. You will have to format the new HDD in Disk Utility>Erase and then install the OSX and your data from Time Machine.
