I have the latest version of Firefox (5.0) and the latest update for Adobe Flash plugin and Adobe Flash keeps crashing! Why???
Every single time I try to use any game that requires Adobe Flash plugin it crashes. I have tried clearing the cache, rebooting, and nothing works. This problem has occurred ever since I updated to Firefox v. 5.0. Help!!

On the opening page of Firefox, I am constantly reminded (and sometimes warned) that I do not have the latest version of Firefox. Yet, when I click for upgrade, I start getting a download of the same version 8.0.1 which I am already running.
This - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Firefox Start Page used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox, I don't think it is being maintained.
Starting with the Firefox 4 version, Firefox is using a "local" Start Page with the address of '''about:home'''. It looks similar to the old Start Page, but it isn't exactly the same. -
Latest version of Firefox has totally stuffed my computer. Nothing works properly and all settings for web pages have disappeared.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

I am not sure if this is a plugin or extension. All I know is that it worked with the old version of Firefox. It is very important to me to be able to use this feature. Any help would be appreciated.
THIS ISSUE IS RESOLVED FOR ME.
When I opened this pop-up to view the settings (File > Page Setup > "Format & Options": Scale ), the Scale value was 40%. Changing it to 100% corrected the issue I observed.
To my knowledge, I have not been inside this pop-up window before to set the Scale option. Could this value be affected by other actions within Firefox? I noticed this while using v12 which was installed 24Apr2012.I know it worked correctly since that installation, so why did the Scale value change?
UPDATE: I just realized that the Scale option in print preview sets the Scale value in the settings. NOTE TO ALL: This is a sticky setting, not just a setting for a specific output request. -
My Google toolbar was deleted when I downloaded the latest version of Firefox. It will not re-load because it is not compatible. Is this problem with Google or with Firefox? Will it be fixed soon, or will I have to go back to Internet Explorer?

Specifically, I am trying to open brokerage statements with Charles Schwab. I go to the link using Firefox and click and all I get is a blank box with ABOUT: BLANK in the header at the top. Yet, I had no trouble viewing the statements with the older version of Firefox and I also have no problem viewing the document using Internet Explorer. Any help you can offer is appreciated. I would rather continue to use Firefox as my browser and not have to use IE.

In the previous version of Firefox, before closing a window with tabs still open, it asked if I would like to "save and close", "close all tabs" or "cancel" the operation. FF4 will just alert me that I am closing those tabs and ask me is I want to continue, without giving the option to save my research for a later use.
Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically.<br />
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.<br />

There is no promt after the lastest version of firefox. Where is the promt?
after downloading the latest version of firefox there is no prompt to drag it to the application folder as instructed. Instead it asks where you want to save the file. So why doesnt it promt and where am I supposed to save the file.

Next time I tried to connect to the Web the Proxy server refuses connection & tells me to reconfigure my settings.
I reinstalled the older version, which worked OK, then uploaded the latest version again & it does the same thing when I log off & try to reconnect!Other things that need attention, see http://www.mozilla.com/plugincheck/

specially version 3.6 is good on saving the tabs before closing the firefox. but the latest versions should have had more that just this but it doesnt support the saving tabs or may be i didnt see it there. please if it has this feature let me know.
the other thing is the norton toolbar 2011.7.1.3 is incompatible with firefox 7.Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />

With previous versions of Firefox, I was always asked this question whenever I exit the web browser and turning my laptop off: Do you want to save your bookmarks?... At least that was the message of the question. Right now, my only option is actually closing all the bookmarks and manually opening each one of them or starting from a saved bookmark list.

Unfortunately the official Firefox policy is that you downgrade to 3.6 which is supported for a while longer, and not the now unsupported Firefox 4. If after installing and running the ''add-on compatibility reporter'' you still have problems there are ways around the official policy.
I think it is absurd that Firefox 4 may be used by tens of millions of users one day and a few days later those that upgrade to Firefox 5 should be not only told not to use a now unsupported browser, if they need to revert due to problems, but are actually obstructed in attempts to do so. Recently I upgraded to Firefox 4. I frequent various forums where I post advise on various subjects. I am finding that version 4 is showing the threads in the forums, allowing me to log in and to post. However the posts as sent in are not coming up at all, even if I get out and return, the page is not "refreshed."

i have done this twice in two other posts..
here is my problem.. i started off trying to update itunes, it failed twice and said i needed to install manually via tools.
the only place to get to tools is the pop up box that appears when you click check for updates.. if there is an available update then the pop up shows up with the quick time and itunes files to download. so i finally figured that out. i clicked on tools and manual update, four files were saved to a file. Apple mobile device support, another one similar, itunes, and another one i cant remember. I only downloaded the itunes file seeing as though thats all i needed to accomplish in the first place.
so then i restarted my computer bc you need to reboot and then reopen itunes for update to take effect. once i have itunes back open i plugged in my new 5s which i am trying to sync to my computer to get all my stuff back bc i lost my previous phone over the weekend.. once i plugged the phone in an error stating i needed to unistall the apple mobile device support and itunes and then reinstall. well i dont know where those files were originally stored on my computer AND since my itunes was updated, just not the other 3 associated files, when i click check for updates it says its up to date and then pop up containing the quick time and itunes does not pop up thus i cant get back to the tools tab to manually save the 4 files again.
so i was just going to uninstall itunes all together and then i thought well what happens if it erases all my photos apps songs etc... which would defeat the whole purpose in the first place of me trying to sync my new phone to get all my stuff back.
so i literally have no idea what to do at this point.. if you have read this you are probably just as confused as me... -
In the newest version of firefox I cannot find the show all tags in bookmarks. Where is it?
Hi. When I look under bookmarks, there used to be something I could click on that said show all tags, so I could find things. Now all I see is recent tags. Where can I find ALL my tags? I have spent so much time clicking on things and looking, but this new version is very confusing. Please help! Trying to plan a trip and cannot find all my TRIP tags! Thanks so much

In the Library dialog, there is a section for tags. You can open that using either:
* Command+Shift+b
* Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks
To create something like that on your Bookmarks menu or Bookmarks toolbar, you need to create a "smart" bookmark folder. The nice feature is that it breaks out your "all tags" by the tag, so there's less scanning through the list.
(1) Select and copy this places query:
place:type=6&sort=1
(2) In the Library dialog, create a new bookmark on the Bookmarks Menu or Bookmarks Toolbar. Click the relevant location, then either:
* right-click > New Bookmark
* Organize menu > New Bookmark
(3) In the Name, enter a query description such as Alpha Tags
(4) In the Location, paste the places query
(5) Click Add.
(6) If you get a dotted rectangle instead of a blue folder icon: drag the new bookmark to another location, e.g, a folder, the Bookmarks Toolbar, etc., within the Library dialog. This forces Firefox to recognize it as a query-type bookmark. The icon should change from the dotted rectangle to the blue search folder icon. Then you can drag it back to your preferred location.
After that, it should work from your Bookmarks menu or Bookmarks toolbar (wherever it ended up) just like the Tags section of the Library dialog.
