I have to "force quit" every time I use iTunes or mail,does anyone know how I can fix this?
When I use iTunes for more than a half an hour and when I use Mail at all,my computer won't shut down or log off unless I Force Quit those programs.It used to only happen once in a while,but lately it happens every timeI use them.Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be welcomed.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

What you did was sync it to a computer. The iPhone can sync to ONLY one iTunes library at a time. you can't put media on it from multiple computers. It's been this way since 6/29/2007.

I have an iphone that has stopped charging. I have purchased a new battery and charger for it but it is still not charging. Does anyone know how i can fix this?
That pretty much eliminates all the user-serviceable parts the phone has.
When you say you purchased a new battery, I'll assume that it included the installation and you did not go fiddling with the nanoscrews and such. So it's got to have some sort of warranty that the part is good and it is time to take it back for service. -
I had my computer repaired, and when I got it back I had to reinstall iTunes. Now iTunes won't authorize this computer because it says we already have 5 devices authorized, but this is the same computer. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Deauthorizing won't delete anything, and all your purchased content is safe. You will just have to reauthorize any of the other computers that get deauthorized along with your computers old machine id.
To get your purchased content back on that computer, just use iTunes to redownload it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US). Of course, music you ripped from CD or got from another source you'll need to copy those files back over. -
My touch screen on my ipod Nano, Gen 6 has gone completely white. It had started going white the day before. I tried resetting it but to no avail. Does anyone know how I could fix this. Also I have 2 other ipods that I am no longer able to sync. It comes up with a message (best I can remember) something to the effect that my itunes version is not compatible with my ipod. Please help. I'm tired of buying new ipods when the new hasn't even worn off of them!!!

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

I upgrade to Firefox 5.0 and now when I start Firefox it takes a While but I get a Pop-up window with the message [Exception... I have not noticed any other problems yet.
We suspect this issue is caused by [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-video-downloader-youtube/ Flash Video Downloader] , can anyone confirm this by disabling this addon and verifying if the issue still occurs?

this is so annoying! I will have my volume at the usual 6, and I'll listen to music and i won't touch anything but it turns the volume down until eventually there is no sound. this does not occur without the EarPods.

I just recently got a new laptop with windows 8 and downloaded itunes 11.0.2. I downloaded my tv shows from the cloud to the laptop and the playback was awful...the audio was fine but the video is choppy and couldn't keep up with the audio. I thought maybe it was because I downloaded it from the cloud and it was a different version of itunes so I downloaded different TV shows from the store and it was the same problem. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Resolved!
After contacting Apple, I received a reply from their engineers:
Copy QTMovieWin.dll from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
And that did the trick.

i got new iphone and when i connect it to my pc, it lost all my current data and replaced it with the backup on my computer, which is from april. so i have lost all my calendar information and schedule. does anyone know how i can reverse this and get my information back?
Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.

If you are using Safari as a web browser :-
Open Safari, go to Safari menu > Preferences > General, and put Google as the homepage. Then, choose Google as your default search engine.
If you are using Google Chrome as the web browser :-
Open Google Chrome.
In the top right corner of the page, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Settings.
In the "Search" section, select Google from the drop-down menu.

hi, i have a macbook and have been trying to play a dvd disk i have with some movies on them. well besically they wont play as theyre AVI files, does anyone know how i can solve this problem?
You can download and install MPlayerX free from Apple App Store. Works great for AVI and other movie formats. I had issues with some AVI's and MPlayerX resolved them.

I need to reinstall my Final Cut Express. I have a version of 3.5 and then an upgrade to 4. Somehow I have managed to mislay the serial No for 3.5 so cannot install. Does anyone know how I can resolve this.
If version 4 is an upgrade only, you will have to have the serial number of the 3.5 full version.
If you can't find it try contacting Apple with your proff of purchase, they may be able to help.

I have had my mac book pro for about a year and a half and suddenly my dvd player will not play DVDs and i can not play alot of things on full screen. Does anybody know how i can fix this?
This could be several things, but let's get the obvious ones out of the way, first:
1. Judging from your text, there's no problem with anything stuck in the mechanism; it's more an issue of no being to put in a disk. In other words, you're sure that there isn't a disk stuck in your MBP. (That happens a lot for all computers.)
2. Go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility, and repair the disk. This should take under 10 minutes.
3. Perform the procedure outlined here:

"Moving Items to Trash" has been up on my desktop for days now. I don't know who to get rid of this and believe its slowing my WHOLE system down. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this, cancel it, forece quit, or anything? HELP!

Restarting my iPad didn't work and I can't delete the notes app, since it's one that came with the iPad (I'd lose all my notes that way, anyway). Someone mentioned once that when they synced it with their laptop their notes started working again, but I'd never backed it up to my laptop before, only iCloud.

Fixed it -- go to Settings - General - Reset and select "Reset All Settings." Still annoying, because now you have to go back and re-do all of the ways you customized your settings, but at least Notes is back.
Now if only they'd fix this major "connect to itunes to use push notifications" alert bug that's a constant irritant in some apps and disables others (Dropbox, I'm looking at you) completely.
