I have two iPads about a year old and have 5 full folders of web links that I would like to copy from one to the other. Both have iCloud but not the same account. Is there an easy way to grab those folders or the icons and email?

I have two iPad 2 with separate iCloud accounts. I want to copy folders of weblinks from one iPad to the other. Email solution? Answer needs to be written for a user who doesn't know how to select a folder or a number of icons and email or copy them to something that can be emailed. I know how to do it one at a time by opening weblink and then emailing the link from safari.

Good idea. I've already used the feedback for my general suggestions to improve the way Apple handles bug reports (and tried sending it to Steve Jobs too), but I'll send a specific suggestion for a bug app on the iPhone.

Yes, you can import to an external drive by choosing it from the Import Screen.
Once an Event or Project is in iMovie, it is best to move it to the external using iMovie, so the Project does not lose links to the Event.

I have Lion installed on a Mini with a C2D processor. The same Mini has Snow Leopard on another partition and there is no noticeable difference in operational speed between the two OS's. But compared to my new MBPro 17" with a 2.83GHz i7, the Mini running Lion is noticeably slower. So if you can afford anew MBPro, then I would get it because you will probably be unhappy with the performance of Lion on the older MBPro. The other benefit of getting a new MBPro with Lion is that if you have any Power PC applications currently on the old MBPro, which will not operate in Lion, then you still have the ability to use them. Many users got stung by upgrading to Lion, only to find they could no longer use the older PPC applications.

Is there an easy way to import those misfortunate photos back into iphoto

I moved my iphoto library to my external drive so that both my laptop and imac can use the synced photo library.
... but now my imac iphoto says I can not open my iphoto library, because is from a newer version of iphoto. And the application then closes.
I figured out my newer laptop has a newer version of iphoto on it.
Imac iphoto version is 6.0.6
Laptop iphoto version s 7.1.5
I Downloaded iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This created a new library but says a lot of my pictures are lost. I can search and find them on my external drive and reimport, but there are a lot of them! Any suggestions?
I'd rather use the 6.0.6 on my imac than pay for an upgrade.
I just won't use my laptop's iphoto.
BUT, how can I get my 6.0.6 working again with all of my pictures in tact? Or is there an easy way to import those misfortunate photos back into iphoto painlessly?
Any other solutions??
Will Snow Leopard have the newest iPhoto included?

If you want to revert to iPhoto 6 then you have two choices:
1. Restore from your back up
or
2. Create a new v6 Library and start over.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'.
Go into the Old iPhoto Library (Right Click on the Library Icon and choose ‘Show Package Contents) and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the old iPhoto Library.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
“Snow Leopard” is an OS Upgrade. While we have no idea what will be included with it, on past experience, no, it will not include a new version of iPhoto.

Help..I downloaded Maverick on my 5+ year old Imac and after downloading the new program the computer would not restart properly and give me my screen to work on...it gave me an error screen and told me to push a key or wait...tried both ways and then went briefly to black highlighted white letters signaling to me oh crap, something is wrong....it would keep cycling and do the same thing but never allowing me to get back to my home screen, sign in or anything....went to the Apple store and could not get an appointment till Monday....can anyone tell me how to get rid of the download and just let me have control of my computer again? Is there an easy way to take a layered Id cc file and save and open in an older Ps?

I am trying to proof and edit a book being made at a school where they are using Id cc. I do not have Id, and am trying to figure out how they can save the layered file to send me and open in Ps or Ai. All I see is converting to a pdf file but it seems complicated to keep the layers as is. They tried sending me pdf files and neither Ps or Ai will open them. And not sure if they saved in layers. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just to be clear, you are asking about Photoshop cc? I don't see how that would be a good choice in editing InDesign files. You would need to have the school send you a PDF that you would need to open in Photoshop, which would rasterize all of the text, making it uneditable. I've never tried to edit anything with text in Photoshop, so if there is a way to keep the live type, I'm not aware of it, but even if you could keep live type, Photoshop's text abilities are very basic. InDesign is what you really need to use, and if the school has CC files, I don't see any way you can edit files that they could use without using InDesign CC. At the very least, you would need to use some version of InDesign, if not the CC version, but then you would have to deal with the problems that can happen when sharing files of different versions.
And if you are considering editing with Illustrator, your type will likely break apart. I made an example that I'm posting as a screenshot.
I copied a paragraph of my response to you, pasted into InDesign, exported as a PDF, then opened the PDF in Illlustrator. The upper paragraph is live, and the lower is the Illustrator that I placed below. They look the same, but I have changed the color of the live type (after the export) to show you how it breaks apart. The first magenta bit is one text fragment. When the font changes to bold, it creates a new fragment (shown in green), then a third (in blue) when it goes back to Roman. The whole second line (in yellow) has been converted to outlines, so I can't edit it at all. If I wanted to remove two of the magenta words and insert 5 different words, the rest of the line wouldn't flow. That's what you're up against if you edit with Illustrator.
ID is the only real choice, and if they have CC, you should be using CC.

System Preferences - Sharing. If you cannot find System Preferences, then use Command - Spacebar and type System Preference and when you see it in Spotlight (uper right) hit return.

I have 3,500 photos on my MacBook that I would like to copy to my Windows 7 PC. The PC CAN "see" the MacBook on the wi-fi network but I can't find the picture files through that route on the MacBook.

I took 3500 pictures with an iPhone 5 and a Canon Ixus camera whil on holiday in China. I downloaded them onto my MacBook every day.
Now we're back home I want to back them up onto my Windows 7 PC as it has a 1 TB HDD.
My PC and MacBook can see each other over the wi-fi network (the PC has an Ethernet connection to the wifi router) and the MacBook can copy files from the PC but not vice versa although the PC can "see" the MacBook - just not copy or transfer any files.
Also when I look for the jpegs for my holiday pics I can't find them on the MacBook though they open happily in iPhoto. When I look in my iPhoto library it seems to have (among other things) an XML file as a database but no actual jpegs. There are some jpegs on the MacBook but these are from photos I transferred from the PC before I out the 1TB HDD in.
Where are the actual photos stored and how can I transfer them to the PC over the wifi network?

I have 2 external drives connected to my new iMac. I can see but no one else can, the other can be seen but not written to.

I have 2 problems, i have 2 external drives connected to my new iMac.
Both are formatted to FAT 32, one I can see but no one else can and I can write to that drive,. The other can be seen by all but not written to by me or anyone else (This drive was used on PC but is FAT32 (have been back to the PC & told it to read write).
Permissions are correct on both that I can see. Thats the extent of my knowlege.Please help

No - that is nothing to do with iCloud - it is a way to transfer photos between devices, backup IOS devices and share photos
You must have your photos actually stored on a local hard drive - you may need an external hard drive if you have lots of photos

Is there an easy way to remove Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and revert to 10.6.5

I upgraded to 10.6.8 and since then, my apps crash regularly. It can take 2 or 3 re-starts to get Mail functioning properly, the iCal events widget on Dashboard has never worked and others such as Aperture and Safari just crash for no reason. I haven't seen much improvement with 10.6.8 so no loss.

I'm afraid the only way to revert to an earlier iteration of SL is to completely erase the HD and re-install from your original grey discs and/or retail SL DVD. Then find the combo installer for the version you want to stop at.
10.6.5 is here.
You'll need to backup your data to an external drive first, then use Setup Assistant to re-import data, apps and prefs.

I backed up my phone because I was upgrading hardware but when I went to "restore from backup" it wasn't listed in iTunes. I can see the files in a folder but not in iTunes. Is there any way of backing up my phone from the most recent backup?
