I have two macs at my house, and multiple iPhones. I want to keep the same apple id as everyone else, but i want to put my own music only on my iPhone. I want to do this with my laptop which is not the family's main iTune's computer.

If you use the same Apple ID for iCloud on each device, yes. However, you can use the same Apple ID for iTunes content on each device, but different Apple ID's for iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, etc., on each device. That way, you can have whatever iTunes content you want on each phone, but keep all of the other data separate. You can create another Apple ID here:
https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/wa/createAppleId?loca lang=en_US
Must be a verified email address.

I have two macs in my house. One is newer and came with the os x mountain lion software and the other one needs to be upgraded. I was wondering if there is a way to take upgrade from one to the other? Should not have to buy this software again.
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Buy it for the other computer. Mountain Lion is preinstalled on the new Mac, but you can only use it in the new one -
I have two Macs and I am using the same Apple ID on both. All of my info, history etc is showing up on both. How do I turn this off?
You likely have iCloud turned on in at least Safari. If you don't want Safari to sync between these devices turn one of them off. System Preferences - iCloud - Safari (uncheck the box)

Hello everyone. I currently have an iphone which is part of a 3 people family plan; therefore we were told we need to use the same apple id. So my question is can I use my own apple id without affecting the fact we have a family plan? I would like to make my own app store purchases with my own credit card and not my sisters fiance since we are using his apple id. PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE!

Whoever told you that has no idea what they're talking about. Ignore that advise. -
I have an Apple ID which I had registered years back.I wanted to use the same Apple ID to download apps on my ipod touch - but whenever I try to login with that Apple ID, it tells me "This ID hasn't been used with Itunes", and proceeds to let me "Review" it. In the last step, I'm asked to furnish credit card information, which I don't want to, since all I want to do is to be able to download free apps !!
Could the credit card be expired?
Beyond that, what you need to do is contact iTunes support, they can tell you exactly what is wrong, none of us here can do that.
In the lower right corner of this page is a 'contact us' link. Click on that and you'll see a page full of info and links, one of which is iTunes support. -
My husband has upgraded ios7. His iphone and mine have the same apple id. he has activated "icloud" which i have never activated before. He is receiving my imessages and facetime calls. How do i disable this yet still continue using our shared apple id on both devices????
thanksShort term solution, do this on both devices
Settings > iCloud > Shut off anything you don't want shared
Long term solution (actual solution)
You need seperate Apple IDs for iCloud. iTunes and iCloud are not the same.
Create a new Apple ID > https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
On one of the devices go Settings > iCloud > Delete Account > Sign in with the new Apple ID
This will seperate your Contacts, Calendars, Messages etc.
You both can continue to use the same Apple ID for iTunes and share apps and music -
I have two Apple computer, a Mac Pro and a Mac Mini.. When I attemped to sign in on Apple on one of the computer (Mac Pro) that I made the password on, will work OK but if I got to the other computer (Mac Mini) and sign in, it will tell me I am using the wrong password, so if I go and make a different password for the Mac Mini computer with the same email for both computer, it will work for the Mac Mini computer but not the Pro..
I have even made another email account for the Mini and tried that but it will still go back to the original.. What can I do or need to do to correct this?? I just bought an ipod touch and am trying to make an application purchase on it and to use icloud to transfer to my ipad or laptop.
I cannot sign in. the password is never accepted. How do I get into applications to purchase or download some of what I have on my ipad?
This sign in on the ipod touch has the address computerservice1614.com I don't even know what that is. I signed in with my apple ID but had to keep changing the password because the ipod won't accept any of them. I am feeling so frustrated and wishing I didn't buy the ipod. Anyone know how to deal with this. I am so tired of trying. This is my second day of trying.I would restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod on your computer and start over. It appears the iPod is associated with another account. Any media that came with the iPod does not belong to you and di not transfer with the iPod hardware.

I have two iPhones associated to the same Apple ID. Can I manage music
I now have two iPhones (4s & 5s) associated to the same Apple ID. I am
giving my wife the 4S.
We like different music & apps from one another. Can I manage music & apps independently on each device even though they have the same Apple ID Association?
Thanksstereo317 wrote:

Yes, but I highly recommend each have your own, separate AppleID and your own computer login to manage your own data separately. -
Hi, my computer died before I could back up any of the songs, tv shows etc from iTunes. However, I do have iTunes from the same Apple ID on other computers, but the don't have anything on them. If I put a new album onto the iTunes on the other computer and then synced my phone with it, will it wipe everything and the only thing that would be left is the album? Or would the album just be added to everything already on there and my phone would not anything?
If you sync to another computer the iPhone will be erased and the content replaced with the selected content of the new computer.
You don't maintain a regular backup copy of your computer?
You can transfer iTunes purchases from your iPhone to a computer from iTunes. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases -
I have 2 iPhones - one for personal use and one for work. They are currently connected with the same Apple ID. I would like to separate the two accounts. Does anybody know how to do this?
Just create a new AppleID for your work.
As Allan suggested, items purchased on one iTunes account cannot be moved to the other account.
However, you can put items purchased on on account onto the other iPhone. -
I have two iPhones synced with the same Apple ID and so the contacts are being shared in both of them. Is there any way to revert this?? The reason is that if I delete some contact from one device then it automatically erases from the second one as well
Yes, you stop using the same Apple ID under Settings > iCloud.

My son and I both have iphones with the same Apple ID. Since I installed iOS this morning I have started receiving all my sons texts and when I send him a text it is delivered to both of us. How can I remove my phone from the joint Apple ID and remove myself from finding out what he is up to during Freshers week!
You have to use a different Apple ID for your son.

Basically, my iphone has been in the same apple ID as my dads iphone and mac book, so my iphone has always been synced to his macbook. I bought myself a mac book the other day and want to sync my iphone to it. However i have obviously put my mac book in a different apple id as i know pay for things i download myself, how can I sync my iphone to my mac book without losing all the music and pictures on it? ive now put my iphone into my new apple id thinking this might help? ive also tried clicking 'manually manage music and video' but this doesnt seem to work, it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
HELPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" how can I sync my iphone to my mac book without losing all the music and pictures on it?"
You cannot. Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.
it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content.

Is there a way to update all snapshots in a tree?
Hi all, I'm running Server 2012 R2 and have a VM with about a dozen snapshots under the main "clean" snapshot. The problem I'm running into is that when I do a monthly check of updates, I have to update each individual snapshot with the new updates.

No more logging to access.log after suspend/resume
