I have two monitors hooked up to my G4 and they are displaying the same thing how do i enable dual display where i can pan between them? Thanks for your help I am using Os 10.3.9

I'm fairly certain your graphics card doesn't support it. As far as I'm aware, Apple only introduced Macs with stock graphics cards capable of supporting dual displays (spanned) when they released the QuickSilver model. The cards in earlier G4s (Gigabit Ethernet, Digital Audio) had multiple connectors so you could connect either an Apple ADC display or third party VGA display, but I believe they only mirror each other.
If you needed to support two independent displays at the time, I guess you went for one of the built to order graphics card options, or bought a second (PCI) graphics card.

You can't do it. This has been an issue since Lion.

They have a trial version you can test before you purchase. It limits you to 10 minutes of streaming before it starts inserting noise into the stream.
But you may not need it. I've read a bit further, and it appears that you may be able to stream any system audio to an Airport Express without needing AirFoil since you have Mountain Lion. I though it would work only with an Apple TV, but I've seen mention that it works with the AE as well (I don't have one to try). When you get your Airport Express set up, go to the Sound (speaker) icon in the menu bar, hold down the Option key, and click the icon. You may see the AE listed there as a selectable output device; if so, select it and all your system audio should be sent to the AE, including Spotify.

Lion thinks I have two monitors connected

I have a MacPro 2008 with the ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT.
I have two monitors, a Phillips 27" and a Samsung 19"
I set up the system with the two monitors connected to the graphics card and everything was fine.
I have since disconnected the Samsung monitor completely from the graphics card. however Lion thinks it's still there/connected.
It's a real pain because it persists on displaying on the phantom screen and no matter what I do through System Prefs/Display I cannot get Lion to forget the monitor. Even if I gather the windows and place them one behind the other. If I click detect displays it thinks there are two there.
Looking through the forum/discussions, this appears to be a problem with Lion and not the graphics cards, as people have simpliar problems with different cards/systems and what they're outputting to.
Anybody have any suggestions?

I have tried that fix, and it does work.
However if I every time I connect a second monitor to the graphic card the same thing happens and I don't want to have to reset preferences every time I choose have a second monitor running.
I sometimes run the second graphic channel out to my 46" Sony TV for watching catch up TV services.
Any other suggestions?

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea!
I just take the route that I believe minimises any risk of something blowing up server side, and whilst it may well automatically disconnect, it only takes a few seconds to disconnect before connecting to the new account, and just eliminates that risk of a load of errors popping up :P

Sorry, but that is not supported at this time. You can stop using one of them by turning it off in the iCloud preferences, but any purchased items tied to the Apple ID will remain as such.

Give each a different name. When each is connected set up your desired configuration for each one. iTunes will sync each according to the configuration you have made for each one.

hi all ... i just bought a 6870 hawk card and have 2 monitors a wide 22" and a 4:3 19" with d-sub connections ... up to now i had them connected to an ati 4890 through d-sub to dvi adaptors no problems ..... and now as i understand it i cannot use the dvi connectors in my card to do that ... so i was wondering if yu have any solution to that .. in particular could i connect one monitor to the second dvi dual link and one to the mini display port ? ... and as it concernes the mini display port will the minidisplay port to dvi converter for mac work with the previously mentioned set up or do i have to get two converters ... and a last thing .... i was under the impression that this card supports eyfinity 6 ... thus six monitors at once ... how is that possible when the two dvi links dont work at the same time ? ....thank you all in advance for your responces ....

I just bought an iMac to replace my MacBook Pro, and now have my Cinema Display hooked into my iMac, giving me two monitors. I have them set up the way I want them, with one being the primary, the other secondary, and the placement is the way I want, but I'd like to be able to have my internet browser always open in my secondary display, while my calendar and email open on my primary monitor. Is there a way to instruct either the apps, or the hardware to make this happen?'

I believe that if you drag an app window to the second monitor and quit it, the comptuer should rememebr its position there. I've done this on older Macs, putting palettes on the secondary and, when I relaunch the app, they stay on the secondary. The newest OS version for which I know this works was under 10.6.8 on a MacBook Pro.
Please tell us what Mac OSX version you have--it could make a difference.

I Have two monitors but cannot get the right configuration

My main monitor (apple cinema display) is located in front of me and have a monitor to the left (a Samsung). The problem is getting to Samsung to behave as it is located to the left of the main display when I move the cursor. I have to go through the right of the main display to get to it. I have tried changing settings in the Nvidia panel, but there is not way to re-arrange the monitors as you can in OSX.
I have a Macpro with win7 installed in a bootcamp partition.
