I have updated to iOS 6. All my files were lost. Help!

I am sorry to borrow your time, but this problem has made me mad recently. I have an iPad 3rd Gen, which I could no update (somehow) with the iPad itself. The same with my Mac. I kept getting error messages (although no code though, so I am unable to search them by myself) so I decided to do the update on a different Mac. I had backups everywhere.
When I updated it on the other Mac, the iPad went into recovery mode. It updated, but as soon as I lifted my iPad, there was nothing. Restore from backup did not help either. Only the photos were recovered. But my apps and it's data, all gone! Now you see, this is curious, because for example, I lost all my files on iBooks (PDF's) and I have no way of retrieving them, still, only one I was able to download it again on my iPad through the Dropbox app. Nevertheless, when I opened the PDF, the iPad remebered where I have last left the PDF, and it opened in the exact page I left it.
This does give me hope though. It seems the app data is stored somewhere, only I don't know where.
Could you, my dearest Apple users, will you be able to solve the Enigma?

I have exactly the same issue since iOS6 upgrade ona 4S - 3G not working at all, Wifi is OK though. Major own goal by Apple here I think...:(

You should always have your apps on your computer. If you have failed to keep a copy of the old app versions, then you cannot get them back at all.

Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red to delete apps from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -

It really can take very long to import and process so many images - I would not dare to make a prediction.
Can you open the Activity Viewer?
From Aperture's main menu bar: Window > Show Activity.
This window will tell you the filename of the image that is currently being processed.
if you are seeing, that the import is still far from being finished, you might to pause certain tasks directly from this panel, like the generation of previews or scanning for faces. I'd let the import run, if you see that it is making progress.
Have you enabled very time-consuming options, like the generation of high resolution previes or scanning for faces and places? if yes, and the import is not making any progress at all, I'd disable thes options in the Aperture preferences for the initial import. You can add these later for the projects where you want to use these features.

I would check your messages tab in the settings app and make sure you two aren't connected to the same imessage/apple id. That can sometimes cause some confusion, especially when using imessage.

Yes I updated via wifi. And no...everything seemed to work fine. But I alsa had a problem with my photos..mostly on my iPhone. I had like 900 or so photos saved on my photo stream..and I used that to hold all my photos, rightt? CUZ I could delete pics from my camera roll but they'd still be on my photo stream Well now after I updated. THEY ARE ALL GONE. And I'm really sad. I don't know how to get those pics Back.

My new iPad mini can't install apps - I have updated to IOS 7.1.2 - I note that one possible solution is to reset all under settings>General but I don't see "reset" - please help
1. Try reset iPad
Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down together until you see the Apple Logo.
2. Sign out and sign back in to iTunes and App Store

since i have updated to IOS 7.1 my phone no longer can make calls, connect using 3G or send text messages. has anyone else had this trouble? i've tried resetting the phone, but had no luck. i can recieve calls and texts, but cannot make calls, text or use the 3G.

I recently updated the iOS on my ipad 3 and lost all my files in the process. How do I recover my lost files which were not previously backed up?
If you don't have them backed up somewhere, then there's little possibility of recovering them. There are some utilities that can in some cases recover an inadvertently-deleted photo, but I've found none that can recover photos or other data from an iPad that was erased as part of an iOS upgrade. You can do a web search for something like "iPhone photo recovery" and you'll find some utilities you can try.

I updated my iMac to Mountain Lion. All the files were deleted. I have Time Machine backups. When I restart the mac pressing Command R to restore it from the backup it shows the previous OS X (Leopard) beside the date of the backup that I want to select. Will it go back to Leopard if I restore it from the backup?
No, it won't revert to the prior OS X but you you may have third party apps installed that were compatible with Lion that may not be compatible with Mountain Lion.

All data that was on your iPhone should be on your computer.
All photos that were transferred to your iPhone from your computer should remain on your computer and can be retransferred. Photos/videos captured by the iPhone can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera - especially before installing an iOS update. Re-transfer these photos from your computer as with any other photos available on your computer.

I have updated my iOS and now my hotmail will not verify my password through apple mail app. I have reset password - tried new password and old password and it still gives me password incorrect. Hotmail works fine on Mac. Has anyone had this difficulty and been able to resolve it?
Did you try deleting the mail account, then adding it back? I've read a lot of times that is what needs to happen in order for it to work properly.

This happened to me as well. I read somewhere else that resetting the network settings (General, Reset, Reset Network Settings) would help and it partially did. I get half (the folders) of the Web Access screen rather than a blank screen. I tried tihs a few more times and got the right half (the messages) on occasion but never the whole web page.
