I have upgraded to OS X mavericks and there is now a problem with my email. I have discovered several emails no longer contain the original message instead another completely different message is appearing but under the name of original sender. Any ideas?

Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store -

The next time the crash happens, note the date and time the problem occurred, then go to Applications/Utilities/Console and copy the log starting at the time of the crash. Paste the log in a reply. Please do not use a screen shot as they can be hard to read. If there are repeated runs of the same messages, please post only one run. Be selective about what you post and don’t post huge amounts. since i have upgraded my i phone5 to 7.0.3 it has problem with 3g it display the service message every time, it reduce the battery life also.

Everytime I try to start FaceTime it says: "There has occured a problem with FaceTime. You have to stop FaceTime and start it again" What can I do about this?
Same problem as well as the network failure. Apple Care was suggesting a full reinstall and I declined. I thought it worked once but I can't be sure ... it might have been Skype which works perfectly.

I have an iPod Touch 4G 8GB and there's a few issues with it.
So. I've had this iPod Touch 4G 8GB for exactly 7 months and 4 days now, since August 1st, 2013, my most recent birthday. I got it from a local pawn shop, and it was used.* It was not fully configured when I got it, was extremely slow (even after a full restore) and had lots of scratches on the back and minor scratches on the front. It worked fine though, for my first iDevice. It came with no papers at all. But both the rear and front facing cameras worked fine, along with all the buttons, speaker, charging port and headphone jack. However, after a while, the device became more and more slow even after several hard resets and restores, along with the cameras slowly deteriorating in quality, even though I kept a case on it 24/7, kept it in my top control and always tried to use a stylus to reduce smudges. On March 1st, 2014, I dropped it. It cracked on the front, near the front facing camera, unfortunately, but it still worked fine. No unresponsiveness, no finger catching, nothing. Until March 3rd, 2014 (yesterday), that is. No real damage happened to the front other than the cracks, but the real damage was found, other than the fact that the rear view camera had these colored horizontal lines across the screen whenever I tried using it on the Camera app. No, this wasn't pixel glitches in general because nothing happened outside of the Camera app, and no, it wasn't just occuring specifically in the Apple Camera app, as I tested a few others. It also had trouble focusing, but I don't think that this happened mainly because of the fall, because it was safe inside the case, and it didn't land on the back. I also think it might have something to do with the fact that it WAS deteriorating in quality over the time I had it. It's not bad when I point the rear view camera at light, almost as if they're not visible at all. But in low light situations, it's quite dificult to get a good shot and I've been having to use the front facing camera to film. It seems to look very reddish in certain direct light shots as well. Also, it might be important to note that it also got scratched a lot more on the front and back (extremely bad on the back, I'm not kidding), specifically after the cracks occured.
Now, why am I telling you this? Well, I'm obviously not under warranty or Apple Care, but I'm curious to know if I'm eligible for a replacement, brand new or refurbished. I've read lots of stories on the website here recently about people's situations like this where they were able to get a new one for free/for a very low fee, and I'm curious. Last night I went to check my emails on my ipad and noticed that all of my inboxes (gmail, yahoo and exchange) were completely empty. I logged on to each individual site on my computer and the inboxes were empty there as well, with no trace of the lost messages in any trash folders or other folders. Obviously this is completely unacceptable as I have lost hundreds of important emails. Upon searching online I found that other people have experienced the same exact thing but apple has provided no explanation. As the only device that I use to access these 3 email accounts is my ipad I feel like it must have come from there. The chance of all 3 servers malfunctioning and clearing my inboxes at exactly the same moment last night is too ridiculous to contemplate, despite being suggested by the customer service advisor that I just spoke to. And I have no other evidence that my accounts have been compromised, and they have separate usernames and passwords anyway. Has this happened to anyone else? Or can anyone provide any sort of explanation? Thank you
You're welcome. As to checking speed go to http://speedtest.net/ and it will choose the closest server for you. BTW, whatever you do, don't click on the robot icon that says "Start Scan" or MacKeeper below that. Only use the speed test in the middle that has the button BEGIN TEST on it. It will run a download speed test first and then an upload speed test. The download test will give a much faster response.

I reinstalled my OS (Mavericks) and when I now open logic pro x I dont have any drum machines or any other old library categories on the left. Theyve been replaced with drums and percussion, voice, etc. If I open an old project they reappear. Any ideas?

i used reliance dongle to browse internet on mountain lion, at first it gave me problems but after updating the reliance software it worked fine. Now i have upgraded my osx to mavericks. The reliance software gets installed but dosent open giving some error, Now i cannot use the internet !!! and itz the latest version of reliance software,,, plz help me !!!
At last i did some experiments and it solved my problem... heres the solution :
1. Install the reliance drivers and software from their website.
2. As the reliance software is not supported my mavericks it wont open, but dont worry.
3. Now after installation go to system preferences->network->and select "ZTE Wireless Terminal".
4. Configuration: Default
Telephone number: #777
Account name and password should be the owners number.
5.Finish ! press apply and click Connect...

I have upgraded Apple Aperture from version 2 to version 3 and I'm having a problem with the "Highlights and Shadows" adjustment. According to the user's manual, I should have access to an advanced disclosure triangle which would allow me to adjust mid contrast, colour, radius, high tonal width and low tonal width.
If anyone has any suggestions as to how to access this advanced section, I'd be most grateful.Hi David-
The advanced adjustments in the Highlights & Shadows tool were combined into the "Mid Contrast" slider in Aperture 3.3 and later. If you have any images in your library that were processed in a version of Aperture before 3.3, there will be an Upgrade button in the Highlights & Shadows tool in the upper right, and the controls you asked about under the Advanced section. Clicking the Upgrade button will re-render the photo using the new version of Highlights & Shadows, and the Advanced section will be replaced with the new Mid Contrast slider. With the new version from 3.3 you probably don't need the Advanced slider, but if you want to use the older version you can download it from this page:

I installed Mavericks yesterday and have now got problems with QuarkXpress 9. Every time I click on an image and try to move it the application crashes. Anyone had similar problems or got any suggestions?

Updated my 2 imacs to Maverick yesterday. Schoolboy error on my part not checking if there were problems with any programmes before I did.
Quark is now a nightmare with no short term answer on the way. As a Quark user for over 20 years this is just another reason to hold your hands up and say OK Indesign you win I will have to learn how to use you and Quark will be a distant memory.
I am told there will probably be no solution to getting quak 9 running on Maverick and that you will need to update to 10 in about 2-3 weeks to get back to normal. Having spent a few bob on 2 versions of 9.5 only in Feb this year i didn't really want to upgrade yet.
So its cough up to carry on using Quark or learn Indesign.
I have lost faith in Quark as they are quick to send me e-mails asking me to upgrade to this and that version, why didn't they send one out saying do not upgrade to Maverick. Perhaps they know there loyal follwing will uograde to 10 and will generate a nice little bonus before Xmas.
Lots to do today and will now take 10 times longer to do it. Is this 2013 or 1974!!!!!

that all my downloaded videos from itunes have somewhat vanished. I see the

The icon indicates an item that is available for download. This is usually because it has been downloaded previously by the account you are logged in under and will not be charge again for the download. See the following article, while it references iTunes for Mac and not iOS, it is the same.

Also the track pad seems to be slower/ not picking up all my finger movements.You might want to take the computer to an Apple Store or an AASP and have them give you an estimate, at least, on how much it would cost to 'fix' the trackpad - I've no idea what the cost would be. The trackpad on MBPs is one of the most sensitive elements in the computer's design. They usually don't go bad, but yours seems to be giving you some trouble: so just make a Genius Bar appointment and just get an estimate - might be something simple.

I have updated my Imac to Mavericks and now my parallells won't work and I have reinstalled as per the instructions. Please help as all my data is on a hardrive that is formatted for PC.
Yes I just discovered that this morning but I have purchased another external harddrive and formatted it for both and am in the process of transferring the files across it and then I will erase the old harddrive and reformat it so I can use it.
I have learnt to format harddrives from this experience but am happy to see the back of parallells.
