I like to use the Gumtree website but although Firefox will work very fast on the Rightmove website
on Gumtree it is useless and takes a very long time to 'turn' a page or go to another area of the
website
I have disabled all the add- ons and it is a bit better but I would be there all day to try
and look through Gumtree as it is so slow whereas for Rightmove it turns the pages very
fast
My local library also uses windows xp and it is very fast on Gumtree and it uses Google

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox button > Options/Preferences> Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox button > Options/Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I have Windows 7 and Firefox 3.6.1, when I am typing text such as email when I hit the shift key and certain letters it activates the shortcut keys and is very annoying how do I get this to stop?

This has happened multiple times. While typing email and also in forums. This is a new computer with Windows 7 so not sure if problem is something in Windows or with Firefox. Sometimes when I hit Shift and t a new tab will open, or shift and w will cause a pop up to come asking if I want to navigate away from this window. I have had other things pop up as well but not sure what they were or what keys I hit that caused them to show up. It tends to happen as I am typing faster. But when this happens, such as the shift t thing, I will close the tab and go back to what I was typing. Watching carefully that i am not hitting the ctrl key I hit shift t and the new tab will pop up again. The only way to get this to stop is to hit the esc key then I am able to to type fine again until it starts again. Once I was typing and my entire text highlighted and disappeared and I lost everything, so yes it can be extremely annoying. Hopefully someone can help me to solve this problem.

Yes, I have rebooted the computer several times. Logged off for the night and login this morning.
It still is happening.
It happens when I type a message in yahoo; when I login to yahoo, both trading platforms and several other applications.
After a while it stops - don't know if there is a key I strike that deactivates what every it is that is making the the keys perform the shortcut function. Sometimes by hitting ESC more than 4 times but less than 10 seems to stop it (or so it appears as the next time I type a msg in Yahoo mail the keys don't activate the toolbar "edit" function. Sometimes striking the backspace key over and over again when there is nothing to delete appears to stop it from happening.
Anymore suggestions? Greatly appreciated. Tired of retyping 3 or more times. Have gotten to the point where I type in word or notepad and paste my username and password into the appropriate areas or into the message area.

I have windows 8 and itunes worked just fine till new update

it updated itself (iTunes64Setup) now the error "Itunes has stopped working" is a persistent error that will not go away, and the program will not launch.
I have since uninstalled and re installed it. The file unpacks normally and then opens up and this error appears. A program that has worked all along for months now... with this new update, just won't work.

Safari 6.0 is not functioning with Google Calendar. Chrome and Firefox work perfectly.

I have been using Safari to manage my Google Calendar. Several days ago, the calendar stoped loading properly with Safari. I can't manage the calendar most times. Occasionally if I hit the arrow keys many times the day will change, but there is no data on the page. When I used the Chrome browser and FireFox, the calendar works pefectly. On the Google community site, other people are reporting the same or similar issues.

1. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
2. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Test.
3. If the above steps don't resolve the problem, please describe it in more detail.

Sorry, but it iTunes requires Safari, not Firefox.
Click your Apple menu / Software Update.
That should bring Safari up to date for you.
Safari 4 is for Tiger.
If you can't update Safari from the Apple menu, try here > Safari 5.0.6 for Leopard

TS1253 i have airport extreme, and printer works with my imac, but not with my mac book pro??

i tried setting up the printer under my wireless network only, and using the printer information, tried both and nothing works, my imac's same settings for the printer, and just cant get it to work.
i am ussing airport extreme, and it shows printer conecting etc. but then it says not programed correctly and it fails.

Could you open System Profiler on the iMac and the MBPro and select the Printers entry. Then in the top right pane you can select the printers entry and the bottom right pane will show information about your setup. Can you copy this information from both Mac's and paste back here.

If the problem cannot resolve, the Run as administrator may selected.

The new version is 11 or XI (roman numerals, X, capital I) but we all know what you mean by X1; I think we'll see a lot of this.
2.1 is a big problem. Someone or something installed this on your system, but that is a big mistake as it is 18 years old, and was made for a much older version of Windows, even older than Windows 95. It's important to remove software using the Add/Remove Programs control panel NOT by deleting files as that messes things up.
BUT... Reader 2.1 is too old to appear in Add/Remove Programs. And if you just delete the files Windowswill keep trying to run them. I really don't know how to fix this, you may need to always start Reader XI first and use File > Open to open files.

Each time I go on any websites, there is always double stacked writing either on the left or right side of my screen. Also, lots of other items have been disabled because of firefox 7 (like Adobe reader etc) and because of those being disabled, i can not play games online anymore. I did not want firefox7 because i was quite happy with the older version, but I have no clue as to how to change it back and how to stop from getting alerts about newer versions of firefox every other day. Why wont my contacts load on icloud? Everything else on icloud is correctly stated (reminders, alarms, calendar) on my phone, just not contacts.

If the contacts on your phone are not on icloud.com and you are signed into your iCloud account in Settings>iCloud with Contacts turned on, open the Contacts app and tap groups. Do you have any non-iCloud groups containing contacts such as On My iPhone, Gmail, Yahoo or an exchange account?
Also go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section). Do you have the Default Account setting, and if so, what have you set as your default account?
