However, the shortcut icon that was installed does not start the new version. I've also gone to the properties link itself but, no success in starting. How do I launch the new version?

Given that you were able to reinstall the OS, you must be able to boot from the install disc.

Itunes does not start for one user but works for others on the same mac

All of a sudden my itunes does not fire up.
All other users on the same mac it is working fine.
I have deleted and reinstalled itunes.

My bookmarks tab does not show an "organize bookmarks" choice. Also, going to the site, and clicking on the star and selecting "remove bookmark" does not work. What is the problem?

I can't think of any more details - what I wrote before sums it up. I used to be able to do this on Firefox and don't understand why I can't anymore.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

The CSSD does not start automatically on Non-RAC - AIX 5L

Database: Oracle 10.2.0.4
O.S AIX 5.3 TL 10
I am facing a problem with the CSSD Non-RAC/Clusterware.
When we restarted the server the service CSSD does not start automatically and there is no relevant messages in the log files of CSSD.
Running the "localconfig reset $ORACLE_HOME", execute successfully but does not start the CSSD.
Running "/etc/init.cssd start" - does not work, nothing happens when we run it
I manually ran "/etc/ init.cssd run" and the service CSSD (ossd.bin) was started without errors.
No errors on errpt from AIX.
I've opened a SR but I am waiting for response from Oracle.

I believe this problem is not with Oracle, but in AIX.It may be that one process that is starting on boot is holding the other process. You need to identify what is process/application.
Check the process on inittab that are already active and which are inactive they should be active.
One clue: Is very common process that is initiated in wait mode hold the boot server.
wait
When the init command enters the run level that matches the entry's run level,
start the process and wait for its termination.
All subsequent reads of the /etc/inittab file while the init

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

FastcgiStub does not raise a new process

we have a perl FCGI running with Sun ONE 6.1 sp5 over Solaris10.
We have a line in obj.conf like this:

We are doing load test against our web app., and we can see that Fastcgistub does not start a new perl process when needed (and of couerse, we fail in process too many request). Instead of that, when our perl dies due to a SIGPIPE signal, we can see this message in fastcgitub.log, repeated a lot of times:
server bind error
/usr/bin/perl bound to localhost:27527 is already running

I am able to saturate the CPU. Even if I print a sleep statement in while loop
of /tmp/one.pl then too, I don't get the error you mentioned.
I however observed that Fastcgistub doesn't create the new processes.
Can you test the following script in your test environment to see how

Hello, I downloaded and installed Lightroom CC on my iMAC (Late 2009, i7 CPU, Yosemite OS) and it does not start at all. I can see for second the welcome window before it closes without providing any error message!?

I would imagine it's the MyWay Searchbar which is classified by most anti-malware scanners as adware, or even worse as spyware. I say that because I see "SmileyCentral" in your list of plugins and that's an add-on for that particular toolbar. You can disable that via Tools | Add-ons | Plugins.
There are a number of toolbars which won't work with Firefox 4 anymore due to the enhanced protection mechanisms in the browser.
Mozilla recommends that you only install add-ons from its own security site @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/?browse=featured Generally speaking, those have all been tested and approved. The exceptions are those currently under review which are marked with a yellow banner to warn users that they haven't passed Mozilla's labs yet.

The iOS version 4.2 downloaded and installed successfully on my phone...only to state at the end that "Your SIM does not seem to be supported. Please insert a supported SIM....". It gives me no option on the phone other than making an Emergency call. I can't even restart or reboot the phone, or access springboard, etc. The black screen displays a USB cable plugged in to the iTunes logo. Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. You can't, it was built-in to iOS and is not in the store. Google are supposed to be working on app version of maps, and in the meantime you could try accessing it via Safari : http://maps.google.com

After installing trial version the program does not start

I installed the CS 5.5 Trial on Windows 7. Everything was ok, so I started InDesign and said accept to the License Agreement. But the program does not start, the license window always opens again after clicking accept. Can anybody help me?

Make sure to run with full administrative privileges the first time you launch the progrrams. Otherwise the licensing stuff will not be able to kick in and verify our trial period.
