I just bought the latest ipod shuffle and want to put my library songs on it. Why when I tried to install the latest version of i-tunes nothing happened. My new pod is connected to my laptop USB 2.0 port but it is nowhere to be found. Why is this new shuffle pod not recognized?
You downloaded iTunes AND installed it, right? What you downloaded is the installer, which installs the iTunes app (and other things like drivers) on your computer. You then have to run the iTunes app.
If you did that already, make sure the USB docking cable's plug is completely inserted into the shuffle's headphones jack, as shown in this document

When connected, the shuffle's light should come ON. That indicates it is getting power. If it blinks orange (at least initially), that indicates it is connecting for data.
If you are good so far, in iTunes, the sidebar (along left side of window) may be hidden. If it is, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. When the shuffle is connected, it should be listed in the sidebar, below DEVICES. Does it appear there?

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...

Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process. -

Way too many users post here about problems with this game. The only thing that you can do is contact the app developer or iTunes Store Support. Of course, it would be helpful if you explained in detail what happens when you try to make an in app purchase.

I was researching information for a class and I clicked on a website that said that all of my files had been encrypted. A popup appeared and asked if I wanted to leave the page but when I tried to, it would let me. I had to force quit Safari in order to do so. How do I know if this is a real problem or not?
It's a JavaScript scam that only affects your web browser, and only temporarily.
1. Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the return key and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
2. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
3. If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. From the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize. -
I have typed in email addresses into Contacts, but when I try to do an email, most of them have an exclamation mark and won't let me send! Where am I going wrong ? It is really sapping my confidence!
Did you set up your email account info in Settings?
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > Accounts > your account should be listed in there with the appropriate incoming and outgoing mail servers and correct user names and passwords. -

You're using the Camera Connection Kit. This is designed to connect cameras to your iPad in order to import photos you've taken. However, the Camera Connection Kit, although that was not what it was designed for, has been known to sometimes accept certain simple USB keyboards and even USB headphones. Obviously, your Logitech is of a better quality keyboard and does not work with the CCK, because it wasn't designed to accept anything other than a camera.
Most Bluetooth keyboards, if not all, should work with your iPad. There is the official Apple Keyboard which looks and works great, and connects to an iPad or a Mac using Bluetooth. However, it is a bit on the expensive side ($70). I'm sure there are good alternatives if you need. -

This morning, i downloaded about 16 songs to put on my ipod, and i manually dragged them over to my ipod to sync that way (like i always do because the music on my ipod came from a different computer which I no longer have) and on my way to work, i realized my ipod says "no content" under Music. However, when I plug my ipod into itunes and click on the music tab under my ipod name, all of my music is there. What happened and how do i get that music back on my ipod? I need help asap.
You had a glitch and the music files got corrupted. I know of no way to uncorrupt them.
You can try using a computer app like iFunbox
