How can I change the language from USA to Chinese? I already select in setup.
If it didn't take for some reason, go to System Preferences… and select the Languages & Text preference pane and reorder the languages accordingly.
Note however that specifying a language may not necessarily change everything about a system to being in that language.

I'm trying to transfer data from my old hard drive (taken out of Macbook Pro 2009) onto a new Macbook Pro Retina. My ignorance is vast and I purchased an eSATA device to do so, not thinking that there is no SATA port on this new computer. Is there a special cable or anything anyone can recommend? I'd be very grateful for some help here.I would just get a cheap USB enclosure from OWC, put your old drive in it, and use it it transfer the data to your new rMBP. Cheap and simple. The one I spec'ed is for a USB 3.0 enclosure as you have USB 3.0 ports on your computer - much faster than USB 2.0.

I currently run the Design and Web Premium CS6 on a first generation MacBook Air and want to buy a new MacBook Pro. How do I know whether I can install my Adobe programs onto the new computer? Because I know there is some kind of limit.
Also, I had to install the software twice on my same computer before because I had to reboot the computer. I don't know if this affects the limit.You are allowed to have two activated installations so there should not be a problem having working installations on the two machines. If by chance you have somehow tied up two activations for the one machine you can have Adobe support help resolve that thru chat.

Yes, an external drive will be necessary. You may purchase the Mac superdrive from the online store or one from another manufacturer. All will work.

You can either ask for this when buying a new MBP at a "physical" Apple store, or as in my case in the UK the online Apple store allows such keyboard configuration in addition to 3 other languages like Spanish, German and French -
When I connect the RCA Small Wonder to my MacBook Pro, the device is recognized in finder as EZ201. I tried to copy the video files in the folder but within a minute or two, I receive a message that the disk was ejected improperly, even though the device is still connected. I was able to download the first few videos before it stopped working and was able to play them using Perian. However, when I tried to connect the device again, it froze my system and I had to force a shut down by turning the computer off. Why is the device initially recongized but then shows as improperly ejected when it is still connected? How can I download the videos if the MacBook Pro won't allow the device to stay connected?

This is the one that has the files for the backups procured by the Time Machine program. But it can't "connect"-- You 'll see int he sideways pic (sorry!) that the options STILL says "connecting"

I got a new laptop (Macbook Pro) and my IPhone is synced with my previous laptop (which I no longer have). I've recorded dozens of very long (un-emailable) Voice Memos over the last few weeks and need to get them from my IPhone onto my new laptop.
How do I do this?

All existing songs and playlists on the iPhone will be replaced with songs and playlists from your iTunes library." I fear that if I click this I will lose all of my important Voice Memos as well)Just to add to what ChrisJ4203 said. You can sync them to your new computer using iTunes by selecting to Include Voice Memos on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing. However, you still need to re-establish syncing with the new computer without iTunes erasing all the iTunes media from your phone (as the warning mentioned).
If you copy your entire iTunes folder (not just your music) from your old computer to your new one, along with other non-iTunes media you may be syncing with iTunes (such as contacts, calendars and any photos synced to your phone from your old computer) by using migration assistant of following one of these methods: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527, then when you sync again with your new computer it will recognize your phone and sync as it did before. You will still have to authorize the new computer for any Apple IDs used to purchase from the iTunes and App stores (in iTunes>Store>Authorize this computer).
After that you can sync your voice memos to your computer as mentioned earlier.
If you want to archive your voice memos before you do anything with iTunes, you can use a 3rd party program such as PhoneView or Touch Copy. -

Just purchased a new MBP w/Retina display and I before I wipe my current windows laptop, I want to move all of my saved PST email files over to my new MBP as well as my saved documents.
I have saved them on a USB thumb drive but dont know how to move them over to my MBP and save them in my mail file as well as my docs into?

i have a PST file which its size is around 18 GB, i used PST Converter PRO, but it converted the PST file to a folder contans subfolder and files, the size of these folders are 68 MB.
i tired to import this new folder to mac mail, it was giving a message that will be discplayed under folder name "Import", but unfortunately, there was nothing added. -
How Can I get my JayBird Freedom Bluetooth Earbud Headset to Work with my MacBook Pro-Retina
I have a 1st gen iPad and a relatively new MacBook Pro 15 Retina. As well, I also have a Jaybird Freedom Bluetooth Earbud Headset (Mic/Stereo Speakers). Finally, I have a Droid X (I'll explain in a minute why I mention this).
My BT Earbuds can pair with my iPad and my Droid X just fine. As a matter of fact, it can bind with my iPad for audio, and my Droid X for phone audio at the same time. However, even when the Droid X and the iPad BT is disabled (on both), my MacBook Pro will not work with the Bluetooth earbuds. I am able to pair them (it shows as a Jaybird Freed Headset, and shows that it can be used as an audio output/input device), but when I try to use the earbuds for audio, it almost hangs up for a few moments, then finally fails and reports that "there was an errr connecting to your audio device.." with the "stop using headset" as my only option.
My MacBook Pro Gen 2 with Snow Leopard used to be able to pair with this headset. I'm not sure if it is the OS or the newew generation laptop. I have seen a few other threads on this, but no fixes that work for me.Just posted a problem I'm having connecting my Jaybird Freedom and iPhone5 (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4716045). The Jaybirds connected fine with an iPhone4s and another (forgotten) device so I don't think the problem lies with the Jaybird. I'd be interested if you hear differently.

First your Mac is going to need to read the external drive.
Mac's can read exFAT (since 10.6.5), FAT32 and HFS+ (Mac format) external drives.
I'm going to assume your drive is formatted NTFS, the Windows format that is also on the boot drive of Windows machines.
For that your need to install a free piece of software on the Mac here (bookmark this page!)
NTFS Mounter (for WindowsNTFSdrives)
That will allow your Mac to read the NTFS formatted drive. You then get all your files off that you want to save.

Once you have gotten all your files off, in the Applications/Utilities folder on the Mac is a program called Disk Utility and it looks like this.
You select your external drive on the left and click Erase > Format > exFAT and click Erase. A warning will pop up and you say ok.
The exFAT format can be read on both Windows PC's and Mac's. Allows for large file sizes over 4GB.
Now this format is for going between Windows and a Mac. Windows Vista and 7 can read this format fine, if you have XP you need to download a free update for exFAT from Microsoft (its easy to find, just search for "exFAT XP microsoft")
Now! however there has been one report that the exFAT formatted on a Mac didn't work on the PC. So if that happens, just format the drive exFAT on Windows first, then the Mac should see it. So check first before doing anything and have a copy of the data elsewhere just in case.
Now if you intend to use the external drive for TimeMachine or a Carbon Copy Cloner/Superduper clone (like "Ghosting") of the OS X boot drive, then you need to format the drive HFS+ journaled in Disk Utility and it cant' be read natively in most cases by a PC unless you install adiditonal software on the PC. (and likely the PC can't read a TimeMachine drive, I don't know I haven't tried it, so your on your own on that) -

Finally figured it out...
1) Open mail/compose notes on your macbook...
2) copy and paste every note from Outlook to a new note in Mail.
3) Open iTunes. In Info/Advanced tick Notes. This will replace / copy all Notes from Mail to your iPhone...
4) Voila! Notes are on iPhone...
I must say in spite of all the fabulous advantages of a Macbook and an iPhone, syncing really does suck...
Transferring data from another smartphone to a Mac or an iPhone is tough...
Features like "one way / two way" sync for Phone / computer or allowing us to select which whose, phone or computer, will be considered more important so that you can choose whose data will overwrite the other, are not there in iTunes... This is something which really needs to be there...
Anyways... problem solved for now...

My macbook pro is still under warranty. I have just put it into Mac 1 to be repaired because I had the folder with the dreaded Question mark on it....new hard drive. I was told that if I wanted my data retrieved, I would have to pay $445 p/h. Ahh!!! Shouldn't that be covered by warranty?
My newest Mac just did the same "folder of death" dance. It's too late for you now, but you might consider a passport backup drive.You can get 2&3 T-bytes now fairly reasonably priced. A given with computers is they will crash, just a question of how bad and when, so you can be prepared for the next time.

Regarding the performance, go to the OWC web site. They have bench tested their SSD vs conventional HDD and have published the results for anyone to see,
The difference between the 128GB and the 256GB drives is capacity, no practical change to performance.

I don't know how you received an upgrade for iTunes. You make it sound like it was sent to you. At most your computer will tell you of a new version and you tell it to download it and install it. However, a computer will not do this for a version which is incompatible. iTunes 10.7 came out a few weeks ago but your computer would not notify you and even if it did, 10.7 would refuse to install on your computer. So this part isn't making a lot of sense.
Two ways to get the 'newer version' message. One is to open your library on a computer running a newer version, and then try to open it with an older version. Usually happens when the library is on an external and used with multiple computers. The second way is if you have multiple versions of itunes installed on your computer.
The newest (and likely the last) iTunes for OSX 10.5.8 is iTunes 10.6.3 which has been out for quite a while.

There are some important differences between the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display and the 15-inch MacBook Pro, like the graphic card or the processor, but if that MacBook works properly, continue using it
