launch iPhoto wile holding down the option key and select the original library - when you create a new library of course it is empty
And you seriously need to backup your iPhoto library and purchase and install iPhoto '11 version 9.5.x from the App store and download and run the iPhoto library upgraded \then run the new iPhoto - 7.1.5 is not fully compatible with Mavericks

PS you also need to update your profile - it states that you have OS X 10.6.8

  • I upgraded my iphotos and now all my photos are gone in all my albums.  How do I find them and put them back in? (1800 photos.)  Help.

I upgraded my iphotos and now all my photos are gone in all my albums. (1800 photos.) How do I find them
and put them back where they belong?

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • My friend wanted to get some of the music off my itunes. when syncing it needed to udate her phone which it did - now all her photos are gone. and the last back up was from when she used my itunes 6  ago. How can we get back her photos :(Please help

My friend wanted to get some music off my itunes - when syncing it it said she had to update her phone software first - which it did. Now all her photos are gone. When we tried to restore the last back up - the only one was from when she used my itunes 6 months ago which was from her old iphone. So now it has put all her photos from her old phone onto her new iphone and deleted all the new ones. We cannot find her new photos. Please help and there was 100 new pics. Is there any way we can get them back. I already have the program Asoftech - but it doesnt seem to register the iphone only C and D drive. Please help!

This is called "stealing". You do not have the legal right to give her the music you have in your iTunes library unless you are the copyright holder.

That's not quite what it said.  Someone should have paid more attention to the great big warning about the possibility of losing data if the phone wasn't backed up.

It restored the backup that was made on your computer 6 months ago, which did not contain those photos. You're wasting your time trying to find them on the phone. They don't exist.
Hopefully, your friend syncs her phone to her own computer on a regular basis. She needs to plug her phone into her computer and restore it from her last backup. That will restore it to the state it was in when the backup was made.
She also needs to get in the habit of extracting the photos on a regular basis, like she would from any other digital camera.

  • Start with the Option key down - Which port to connect the keyboard?

When I need to start my Mac with the Option key down in order to select a boot volume, I have noticed that the system ignores the Option key press and boots into a previous boot volume if a USB keyboard is plugged into an external USB hub. That's understandable because the boot sequence may not detect the keyboard on the external USB bus fast enough for the system to recognize the Option key press.
My Mac will always recognize the Option key press at a boot time if the USB keyboard is plugged into a USB port on the Mac.
I want to know what if the boot sequence will detect the keyboard +soon enough+ to recognize the Option key press if the keyboard is connected to a USB port on a PCIe USB expansion card.
If you know the answer, please let me know because, if the answer is no, I would not want to invest money into an expansion card.

Even if it doesn't work with the card, you can plug the keyboard into a built-in port and use the card's ports for other USB devices. The total number of USB ports would be the same.

  • I synced my Iphone 4 with my sisters Itunes and now all my photos are gone? how do I get them back?

I went to save photos from my iphone 4 onto my sisters mac and they wouldnt upload and when I disconnected my phone I had her photos on my phone and over 2000 of my photos are gone.. please help!

" but the mac didnt allow them because of some apps on my phone s"
    What does this mean?
How did you try to import those pics?
You import pics from iphone just as you would from any digital camera.  They are not part of the sync process at all.
I am trying to figure out what exactly you did.
Bottom line is that the pics are gone unless you have a backup of your iphone on your computer from a time when the pics were on the iphone.
In the future you should be importing your pics to your computer regularly.

  • New photos update all my photos are  gone

after my macbook updated to the new photos all my photos were gone

This looks like Photos opened a new, empty library, because it could not access your iPhoto Library or Aperture Library.
Where are you storing your iPhoto Library?  In the default location in the Pictures folder or on an external drive?
For Photos to be able to open your iPhoto Library, the library needs to be on a drive formatted MacOS Extended, and directly connected. It will not be able to open the library on a NAS or any network volume.

  • All my photos are gone even though i backed them up to icloud??

    hi,
i am no apple genius so i need help...
i had a iPhone 4s worked fine. downloaded ios6, completely corrupted it kept crashing etc, took it to the apple shop he gave me a new iphone but with ios5.1.1 and "set it up" with it putting all my pictures back, simple pimple.
okay so my problem is in the shop my photo stream on the new iphone was updating with all the pictures i recently took (picture 94 of 1294), it was taking its time so i left the shop, however i'm now at home and that's exactly where it stopped. on picture 94. i have 1294 pictures. where are they? logged in to icloud.com, cant find them there. i have no mac or ipad or nothing just my iphone. so its not like there anywhere else, i then tried to reset the phone and back up from icloud (after googling) but still.....nothing, same 94 pictures.
how do i get the rest of my pictures (from old iphone) back and on my new iphone? do i need to download ios6 again? then will all my pictures come back? b4 i gave him my old phone my pictures were all on that photo stream, but they haven't come on to this new one why not?
if anyone can help me i'll be truly grateful, i just had a baby and all her new born pic's where on there

Photo stream only keeps a maximum of 1000 photos, and only for 30 days.  After 30 days, photos are removed from photo stream but not on any device that has already received them.  That's why you still had 1294 photos in your photo stream album.  Chances are, all but 94 of them were older than 30 days and even though they were still on phone before, they were no longer in photo stream to download to any device connected to it for the first time (such as your restored phone).  If that's the case, then unfortunately I don't think there's any way to get the other photos back at this point. Photo stream photos need to be regularly saved to your camera roll, and then imported to your computer for safekeeping, as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.  Alternatively, if your computer meets the minimum system requirements, your photo stream photos can be download directly to your computer by syncing it with your iCloud account, as described here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/.

  • Images not importing? All past photos are gone.

For some reason, I cant import any photos to my external hard drive. When I try to, it loads so slowly and when the photos start showing up, I get an error saying that "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo."
I can import directly to my computer's (PC) C drive just fine and the external has a little over 100 GB's available. The day before this happened, I imported photos just fine. Whats even weirder is that ALL my photos in Lightroom "cannot be found".
Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on??

"Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo."
This usually means that the photo is corrupted. The most likely culprits are a bad camera card or bad card reader, but any piece of hardware (hard disk, memory, USB cable, USB port) can be the cause.
ALL my photos in Lightroom "cannot be found".
This means that you have moved or renamed or delete the photos (or the folders that contain them) outside of Lightroom. To fix the problem, see: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders

  • Almost all my photos are gone with ios 8

I had 3000  photos before my iOS 8 update, they were in my camera roll, and are not listed in the 2014 collection and there is no collection for 2013. Please help! I haven't backed up to the cloud since June because I ran out of room in the cloud....
my collection shows 91 photos only.... Mostly burst photos are left really.

I understand your point, but unfortunately both of my USB ports are broken on my macbook pro, and from what I can tell it is very costly or impossible to replace them. I am simply asking if there is any way to recover what was lost due to the software update, I don't feel that things on my phone should have been deleted simply because I upgraded the software.

  • Download and then open PDFs with Preview instead of viewing PDFs within Safari

hello, I am running Safari 6.0.2 and since this update PDF files are automatically opened within Safari. This seems to be a new feature. In my older version of Safari whenever I clicked a pdf it was downloaded to my "Downloads" folder and then automatically opened with Preview. The option open "safe" files after downloading in Safari -> Preferences -> General is ticked. So as soon as a download a PDF file it should automatically be opened with Preview. However, I cannot figure out how to download a PDF file from a google link. I googled and people suggested to use alt + mouse click on the google search result link to download the PDF. However, whenever I tried this instead of downlading the PDF file it downloads a .html file which is then apparently not opened. Also using the option "download linked file" or "download linked file as" only downloads a url.html file and not the PDF. I searched and searched for any possible solutions but cannot find any. I am really suprised that no one has yet really complained about that. Any ideas of how to fix that problem?

I had a similar probem after updating to the newest Safari -- and I posted that question on the forum this morning.  Like you, I didn't have any adobe plug-ins.  then I read another post that made sense:
find a pdf document that you know opens in Preview. Do a command-I on that document's icon.  Then you'll see 1/2 way down an item that says "open with Preview" - click on the arrow beside that, then beside it you'll see "use this application to open all documents like this one"  Under that, you'll see "change all" -- and it will change all pdfs to automatically open with Preview instead of Adobe. From then on Safari worked perfectly
Then I wondered why I didn't have the Adobe plug-in that people were telling me to disable - so I downloaded Adobe Reader again - looked in the library and sure enough there was the plug-in - so I went ahead and disabled the Adobe pdf plug-in (by dumping it in the trash).
so far so good -- first time that Safari 6.02 has worked for me since I installed it.

Well, certainly if you had 3 years of photos you have been importing them off the phone to your computer as recommended.  Just synch them back.
