They are only free via the account orginally purchased or if they came pre installed on the computer. Depending on what you have purchased already us the one account for the app store - saves headace and hassel in the future thus not double buying software. Do you have iwork installed on your imac? meaning the iwork 09? if you do your should be able to to to the store and update it. Worked fine for me since i bought the DVD version of iwork 09 and Aperture 3. I did not want to have to rebuy them so the app store noticed i had them installed and changed the update via the app store.

i thint the "yellow button" mean the toolsline.
this option was relocated to the right site, next to the search button/menu
if you want see the toolsline, left click the top of the window, and click to the toolsline button

If you mean that your account is disabled you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

I synced my iPhone to the 5.0.1, but when i did that it deleted some of my apps and i cant find them on itunes. How do i get them back?

My iPhone apps messed up big time. My iPod apps downloaded onto my iPhone, so i had to delete those. I know that i didnt delete the MusicDownload app but i cant find it anywhere. I paid $2.99 on that app so i thought i could find it on itunes but it wasnt on there either. How do i get this app back?

apps are tied to appleID not to ios devices or to computers
you can never buy an app more then once with an appleID and any attempt to do so will result in a free redownload
in app store on ios device one can access a list of all apps ever bought on the appleID and you can redownload them you can also limit the list to all apps ever bought on the appleid not currently installed on the ios device
sounds like you messed up your backup and restores and in the process likely what appleID's your devices are connrected to

When I upgraded my FF to the latest one my bookmarks will not work as before and I cant find a way to change it

I am running win7 hp 64.when I upgraded to v14.0.1 the bookmark wont operate as they have in the past and I dont know how to make them work as in the past. I have to double click files to get them to open.I cant organize them to open without double click or in some cases even more.its frustrating me to no end. FF has always been my favorite browser and I hate to have to deal with this. I hope you can help me

When I attempt to install a non-Apple app using a CD, I do not get the prompts that are supposed to occur automatically and can't find a way to make them start. I am installing Rosetta Stone.

When I attempt to install a non-Apple app - in this case Rosetta Stone - I do not get the prompts to follow after inserting the CD. I have searched for a way to activate them with no luck.

Rosetta Stone does make a Mac OS X compatible version of their software. You may be elligible for a crossgrade or a Mac version of their CD. Or you might need to consider installing Windows on your Mac, if the disc only has a .exe file.
