I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes to my PC (windows XP) and I keep getting an error message or two. One is that it can't uninstall the previous itunes version, the other is that it can't find itunes.msi. I have tried removing  the old version in add/remove programs, but it says the same error. I tried deleting every thing that has itunes in the file/folder/etc and it didn't help.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Unable to download the latest version of iTunes (11.1)  for Windows XP

I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes (11.1)  for Windows XP.  When I click on download from the Apple iTunes Support site (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ), no file is downloaded from Apple.  What gives?  And yes, I did check the Downloads area as well as running a file search on the system so please do not ask.
Also, in browser debug mode, it gives me the URL https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunesSetup.exe but there is no file available.

  • I recently had to reinstall iTunes, and now it won't recognize my iphone so Im not able to sync my phone to iTunes.  How do I fix this?

I recently reinstalled iTunes, and now it won't recognize my iphone so I'm not able to sync the phone with iTunes.  How do I fix this?

It has been shown there are problems with the latest update of iTunes and Windows computers. What you need to do is remove and reinstall iTunes, and make sure that you follow the steps in this support document exactly. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923. If you do not follow them exactly, you will just compound your problems. Once you do this, you should have no trouble having the phone recognized in iTunes.

  • Unable to download the latest version of itunes (11.1) for windows 7

I have tried to sync some recently downloaded songs to my phone. However when I plug in my phone it pops up that it is unable to recognise the phone because I don't have the latest version of iTunes (11.1), I think this is linked to the fact that I have recently completed the software update for the Iphone and got the iOS7 software update. When I go to download the new version of iTunes It gets to a certain point and stops, telling me that the feature I am trying to use in on a networ resource that in unavailable. It then asks me to enter an alternative path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi'. I have searched through my folders on my laptop and cannot find anything that works. Once I cancel the pop up it says that the old version of iTunes cannot be removed.I have also restarted my laptop but it didnt change the problem, if anyone has any clues as to what this could be I would be very grateful for the help!
    Thanks

    Hello Slm7531,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like this iTunes msi file is causing some issues with installing the new version of iTunes.

  • Updated iTunes to 10.3.1 and now it won't recognize my iPod

I recently updated my iTunes to the latest version, and  now it won't recognize any of my apple products. I have a first gen iPod touch, 4th gen. ipod nano and 5th gen. ipod nano. The ipod does work still, and is chargeable through a dock or a AC adapter. I've gone through all of the five Rs and reinstalled itunes, and nothing is working. My ipod won't show up in windows either. When I plug in my 5th gen nano, windows says the driver did not install sucessfully and itunes won't even acknowledge I've plugged it in. Any help would be fantastic, I'd really appreciate it. I put new music on my ipod all the time, and not being able to do so *****.

Well yesterday I finally broke down and called apple service... I spent $29 and 1.5 hours on the phone, but the operator was finally able to fix my ipod. There was an issue with the itunes update, and it had corrupted. After uninstalling, installing, and updating several drivers, programs, and resolving other issues, my iPod finally works. Even better, the operator gave me a way to contact him again if I am having issues, free of charge. I would have much rather fixed this myself without spending the additional money, but I'll admit there was no way I could've done what he did, as there were certain orders to uninstalling Apple programs. My advice? Bite the bullet and call. They will get your iPad working again. (:

  • Updated to itunes 10.6.3 and now it won't recognize my iphone or ipad

Itunes updated to 10.6.3 and now it will not recognize my iPhone or iPad.  I have tried uninstalling itunes and the amds following steps provided on the support site.  Still nothing.  My computer does show both as cameras though.  Any ideas?

There has to be a fix without doing that.
You're not using any sort of hub or extender are you? iTunes doesn't always like that.
    Tried different USB ports?
what operating system do you have?

    Good Morning,
I just did a software update on my phone (finally) last night and now my phone will not come on.  It keeps showing the charger pointing up to a blue circle with iTunes inside and will not go any further.  Can ANYONE help me please???

The phone is in restore mode and the picture is telling you what to do. Connect the phone, by cable, to iTunes in the computer you normally use for syncing, and retore the phone.

  • HT201210 i have a ipone4s and am trying to update to the latest version. There has been a error and now all i can get is a iTunes logo with a connection arrrow pointing up. i cannot get the phone to do any thing.

I am trying to updated my Iphone 4s and there is a erroe while updating. My phone has now got a iTunes icon with a arrow below it and a picture of a connectione cable below that.  I cannot get the phone to respond to any thing.

Here's a few things to check
    1. Make sure you are using the original usb cable provided by apple
    2. Try re-installing iTunes preferrably uninstall then install a new version
    3. Try different usb ports
    4. If all goes wrong, install itunes on a different computer and update it on the other computer, then you can always plug it up again on yours and restore your information
