I just got a new iphone 4 and when i plug it into my computer it comes up in itunes saying"itunes could not connect to iphone because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter your passcode into your iphone before it can be used on itunes" what do i do
please someone tell me what to do i have no idea where to put in the passcode let alone know what it is! and i need it because i need to sync all my contacts and apps and everything onto this new iphone

if so you should be able to restore it
connect to itunes under the devices tab click on the ipod now click summary on the top
on the page you should see and check for update's or update tab
below that there should be an restore tab just click on the restore tab

I just installed the 3.0 software. The iTunes store was not available to activate my phone right away, which is normal, considering the 3.0 just came out. I have an Exchange email account configured on the phone which requires me to have a passcode set.
I can't enter my passcode because the phone is stuck on a display that says "Slide for Emergency" and is asking to connect to iTunes.
Pretty bad catch22 if you ask me. Can anyone help?I had the exact same problem, I freaked out at first and then it worked fine. I got the error in iTunes, I check my phone and it was at the slide to emergency thing. I disconnected my iPhone, put in the passcode, and then all of a sudden the error message went away and it worked fine.

my kids entered the passcode several times wrong and now it is disabled and written on it"connect to itunes" , when i did connect it to itunes it said "can not connect to ipad because it is locked with a passcode" what can i do pls?
You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/resync your content to it.
If you do it via a different computer that it's not normally synced to then (from here) :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. -
I just got a new laptop and when i went to go and buy something, it asked for some security question answers cause this was my first time buying on this computer. When i went to go type in the (so what I thought) correct answers, it said they were wrong. After numerous tries, it disabled my account. How do I get the answers sent to my email so i can start using my itunes again?

Got a new car and when i plug in my older shuffle it ask me to check the firmware. What do I need to do?
It's possible that your new car audio system is not compatible with your older shuffle, or it may not be compatible with shuffles, period. You should consult the documentation for the car audio system (or its tech support) to check the list of compatible devices.
There is no firmware upgrade for an old shuffle with will make it work, if the car audio system does not support the device.
NOTE: As an alternative, you can buy an inexpensive USB flash drive. Maybe you already have one. Load it with your favorite songs. Here's one that barely sticks out of the USB port

Is your iPhone not showing up in iTunes sidebar, or is iTunes not just launching automatically?
The things that you can check are:
1) Launch iTunes manually
2) Restart or reset your iPhone (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3281)
3) Check your cable including disconnecting and reconnecting it on bot the phone end and the computer USB end.
4) Reboot your computer
5) As a last resort, take it to the Apple Store so they can check the hardware -

Your library will ONLY be where you put it. It will not magically appear anywhere.
Have you copied to from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer?
You can sign into your account from any computer with itunes. This has nothing to do with your library. Your library resides on your computer and you have to move/copy it wherever you want it. -

Depending on why it's been disabled, you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com

My iphone 3gs will no longer let me try passcodes and it only says "Iphone is disabled connect to itunes" well, when I connect it to my laptop, itunes says "could not connect to phone because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes" Please help!!! Just got a new Ipad and can't get computer to recognize it.
I just got a new Ipad and when I hook it up to the computer it does not show up on my desktop or in itunes. And on the ipad screen it still is asking me to plug in the USB. I have tried 3 different ports, restarting both the computer and Ipad with no luck. Any suggestions?
I did not want to start a new msg so I will just comment on the iPad cover interfering with the keyboard connector. I like to leave the Apple case on all the time. Then I can just pick it up and go. I was a little disappointed when I tried to connect with the case on and had to take it off. I took a razor blade to the bottom of the case and cut out a section large enough to fit over the connector. It worked fine.
