I just got a text from verizon stating  a 3rd party vendor just charged to my bill.  Is there a way to find out the cost of the charge.

Is there a way to find out what a 3rd party vendor charged to my bill, before the end of the billing cycle.

You could try calling CS, but other than that I don't think there is.

    Is there a way to find out where iMessages are coming from? I've contacted security personnel at my school and I'm brig harassed. I just want it to stop.

    '''Here is an update to my former response.'''
    Here is a safe way to look at an email which you think is suspicious:
    * right click on the message and select 'Save As'
    * the file name will be the email subject followed by an extension of .eml
    * store it in a folder you can find easily, such as your Documents
    * using your file explorer, right click on the file name and open it with Notepad or a similar text editor (NOT Thunderbird!)
    * even though the format is not easy to read, you should be able to see who sent it to you, and also read the message text.
    Since you are looking at the message in a text editor, there is no chance a link can activate something bad. I have used this method many times, and have found several spoofs of email names of my friends.

  • HT5787 What do I do if my iPod was stolen and I checked my support profile and when I entered the serial # I got a message saying it has been registered to another Apple ID? Is there a way to find out that Apple ID so that we can locate the iPod?

    What should I do if my iPod has been stolen and when I checked my support profile and entered my serial # and I received a message that the serial # had been registered to another Apple ID account? Is there a way to find out the Apple ID that it was registered to? I have already checked find my iPod and it shows my iPod is offline. I have already filed a police report.

    No, sorry, there is no way you can get that information. The police perhaps could, but it would probably require a court order and it's unlikely the police will go to those lengths unless they have reason to believe that this theft was not an isolated instance and hence worth more of their time than the single theft of an iPod.
    Even if they got the ID, it may well just be yours. Apple's registration database often contains such errors; I get the same message for some of my devices when I know I registered them to my Apple ID and the devices are all still right here.
    Regards.

    Zion,
    This worked! ...about 50%, but I suppose that's better than nothing.  I went into iTunes on my old username and downloaded the 300+ songs to my library but then for some reason when I went to transfer them to my iPhone it would only transfer like 120 or so of them.  I'm not really sure why but I'll continue to work on it.  Thanks so much for the help.
    FYI - if anyone else reads this bc they have the same problem.  If you choose to go this route and download previous purchases from your old account you cannot auto download any content on your new(er) apple ID for 90 days after the purchase download.  Just something to keep in mind, but for me, it was totally worth it.  I have no qualms about manually transferring the songs to my iPhone for the next 3 months if it meant getting the rights to transfer all my old songs to my iPhone.
    Thanks again!

  • Iphoto 9.5.1 will not import videos with .mpg extension from my pictures folder and keep getting a OSStatus error-54. Is there a way I can import such videos to the iphone library?

    iphoto 9.5.1 will not import videos with .mpg extension from my pictures folder and keep getting a OSStatus error-54. Is there a way I can import such videos to the iphone library? Pls help.

    This is what that error means:
    -54
    permErr
    Software lock on file; Not a subscriber [permissions error on file open]
    Download and launch  BatChmod.  Put the videos into a subfolder and drag that folder containing the video files into the Batchmod window.  Make sure you are the owner and have R,W, X access as well as the group.  Everyone will have R only.
    Check the Change ownership and privileges, Unlock and Apply to enclosed boxes and then click on the Apply button.  When done try importing the files again.

    Without having to dig up some receipt is there a way to find out what year my iMac is from?

    Check the model ID in the System Information
    Download and use  MacTracker to determine the year (and every other thing about the machine you could ever want to know).

    Hi I have a new mac book pro. I am swopping over from an imac. An authorize this computer message has come up for an old itunes account. I have no idea what the password is. Is there a way to find out or transfer to my new account?

    Let me see if I've gotten this right! You want to remove an account from BOTH machines? Do this for your new machine first, then for the other.
    Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen, System Preferences, Users and Groups (under Systems), unlock the lock in the window if its locked (you need to know the password), select the user that you wish to remove, and click the - sign next to the + sign for Login options. A window will pop up with some options. Select Delete this user and securely, and click 'Delete user'.
    After this, do an update from the App Store.
    Thats all there is to it.
    For the other machine repeat the process except for one thing. Before you delete the user in this case YOU, you will have to give Administrator priviledges to your son bu checking the box 'Allow user to administer this computer'.
    Do NOT do anything from Finder ... if you dont know how to fix the consequences of the problems caused.
    There is no need to unauthorize your iTunes account on your new machine. Do it on the old machine though.

  • Is there a way to find out the content of texts on my daughter's phone?

    We have a daughter with special needs who is trying very hard to be independent. I don't worry about her as much as I worry what others say to her. I try to monitor daily what she is texting and what others are texting to her. I have a pretty good handle on it, but she often erases things before I see them. Is there a way to read them without having to ask for her phone? That would lessen her anxiety about the whole thing.

        @boldermyers,
    I totally understand you wanting to make sure your daughter is safe! You may benefit from Verizon Messages.

  • Is there a way to find out if the projector is used from cd or dvd?

    I have a projector which includes options for user to permanently edit some texts. These functions will not work if the projector is used from cd or dvd, because texts can't be saved. Is there a way I could find out if the presentation is used from cd or dvd, so I could hide the editing features and show them only when the projector is used from a hard drive or usb memory stick.

    code would like something like this*:
    driveLetter = the first char of the moviePath
    driveType = baDiskInfo(driveLetter, "type")
    if  driveType = "CD-ROM" or driveType = "DVD-ROM" then
    -- do your stuff here
    end if
    *modify to fit your project
    You could also use FileXtra's fxObj.fx_VolumeIsCDROM() too:
    driveLetter = the first char of the moviePath
    fxObj = xtra("FileXtra4").new()
    isCDDrive = fxObj.fx_VolumeIsCDROM(driveLetter)
    fxObj = 0
    if  isCDDrive then
    -- do your stuff here
    end if

  • My 2007 Intel iMac is waking from sleep on its own during the early morning hours. Not sure why. Is there a way to find out by looking at some sort of log files or something else?

    I'm wondering if someone else is having control of my iMac as it randomly wakes up from sleep while I am sleeping sometime during the night. I've woken up with the light from the monitor brightening my room. Need to find out what is causing it to wake up and stay on. Any suggestions?

    I've had this same issue lately. Here's one thing to check: System Preferences > Energy Saver > Wake for Network Access should be unchecked.
    Mine is unchecked, so the only other thing I can think of is that it might be Time Machine backing up. My iMac is backing up to an external hard drive, and also sharing that drive over the network so two other Macs can back up as well.
    Should be an easy theory to test. Turn off AirPort, unplug Ethernet, and let the iMac sit. See if it still happens.
