I just installed Lion and now my adobe flash player doesn't work to allow me to cam at a website that uses adobe flash to support camming there. It worked fine yesterday when I had Snow Leopard installed but right after I installed Lion it stopped working.

Just installed Lion and now my trackpad will not zoom in and out and the direction of going up and down have reversed.
I have had Lion since it was first released July 20th, and I have noticed that I can not zoom in on everything that is on the internet, some things seem to not be able to be zoomed in on. Are you saying that no matter what website you go to (this one for eample) the zoom function does not work?

Back to Snow Leopard from Lion install method
Read and print out these instructions, your computer is going to be offline and you wil be cutoff from help until your machine is restored.
Clear the Desktop, Downloads and Trash of anything you wish to keep by placing their files in the respective Documents, Music, Pictures, Movie folders.
If you have a TimeMachine drive, update it and disconnect for the duration of this restore time. It will be your second backup system and will have to be wiped and setup again after successfully going back to Snow Leopard if it was connected to the OS X 10.7 boot drive. If it wasn't, then leave it disconnected without updating to Lion.
Backup ALL your Users folders (Documents, Pictures, Movies, Music etc) manually (drag and drop methods) to a (not TimeMachine) external powered drive (HFS+ journaled formatted in Disk Utility) and disconnect, your going to be wiping the entire disk of ALL DATA. (warning, everything will be gone and not recovered)
Here we go!
Hold c and boot off the 10.6 installer disk that comes with your computer and second screen in just STOP.
Look at the Utilities Menu for Disk Utility.
On the left is the name of your hard drive maker, click it and Erase (format HFS+ Journaled), give it the same name as before, and click Erase...
This should wipe the drive of ALL partitions (GUID, OS X and 10.7 Recovery, Windows if present)
When it's done, quit and install OS X 10.6. Then install all your programs from fresh sources and validate/update.
When you setup a first account, use the same user name as before, this way you can simply drag and drop the content of your previous Users folders from the external drive right back into the new Users folders and everything should work peachy. Links in iTunes to music, playlists and iPhoto links especially.
Update OS X to 10.6.8 using the Combo Update for best results.

(Note: If your original machine had 10.5 and you want the free iLife that comes with the disks with the computer, then you'll have to install 10.5 first using the same c boot/erase/format methods as above, then update to 10.6 via the disk, then Combo Update 10.6.8)
Final step optional but highly receommended.
A lot of people use a Carbon Copy Clone of their boot drive to a HFS+Journaled external drive as a "hold the option key" bootable backup in case something goes wrong with their boot drive or need to restore to a previous OS X version.. (in addition to TimeMachine drive for more immediate backups.)
It's not advised to have a Bootable Clone and a TimeMachine partition on the same external drive, as two drives gives hardware protection in case one fails. -
I Installed Lion and now my USB modem will not work to send a PDF fax? Do I need a new USB modem to send faxes or is there a software update that I need? Also can I change the picture of the login screen? That grey mat looks ugly!

Just installed iOS7 and now my Airport express is no longer working. Very frustrating. Who has a solution to this problem.
I'm curious what's happening for others with Airport Express devices that aren't working. In my case, it's simply now impossible to get sound coming out of it. All my devices and computers initially THINK it should work - they all show the Airport Express. But when I try to play, it doesn't work, with slightly varying responses:
iPhone 5 and iPad 2, both on iOS7: if I choose the Airport Express, they continue to play as if through the Airport for about 20 seconds (with progress along the little progress/scrub bar), and then just stop playing. No error message or anything.
On my computer, through iTunes 11.1: it thinks for a while, with the "Connecting to ___'s Airport Express" thing going at the top of the screen, until I get the "An error occurred while connecting to the airplay device ... the network connection timed out" message. The little chevron (?) in the upper left side, that lets us "Choose which speakers to use", becomes orange rather than blue, and when I click on that, the Airport Express listing now has an exclamation mark inside a warning sign.
On an iPhone 4, with iOS6: basically the same as with the iOS7 devices. It seems to "think" it's playing through the Aiport Express, and then after about 30 seconds just reverts to the iPhone speaker and stops playing, with no error message.
Note that through all this the Airport Express has its green light and seems to think it's working fine, with an "Excellent" connection, according to the Airport Utility.
I've tried turning basically everything off and on; everything is as up to date as I can make it, except that iPhone 4; I've forgotten and added networks; I've reset network settings; I've added and taken away a password from the Airport Express Airplay speakers (because, hey, why not). I'm not sure what else there even is to do: maybe tomorrow I'll head in to an apple store and see if I can use the AirPlay from my iPhone to play on one of their Airport Expresses? If they even have any set up?
Outside chance of the cause - could my wifi network somehow be confused because it's dealing with both iOS6 and iOS7? Does that make any sense at all? (Not that my wife is going to be the least bit eager to upgrade to iOS7 after hearing me swear profusely over the past couple of days!) -

You must be running Office 2004, which was designed to run on PowerPC Macs.
PowerPC apps would run via "Rosetta" on Snow Leopard, but with Lion, Apple has finally pulled the plug on PowerPC apps. -
I just installed Lion and now I can't access my Quicken data.
I just installed Lion without knowing I would lose access to my Quicken data. To make things worse, I'm a computer moron and didn't make an external back-up. I have an old non-intel mac, is there any way to transfer my Quicken data to it?
The only version of Quicken that will work with Lion is Quicken Essentials. Quicken 2007 for Mac (and prior versions) will not. I recommend checking the Intuit website for information regarding using Quicken Essentials with Lion before upgrading to Lion. We have just installed Lion and now cannot connect to MyExpat
we have just installed OS X Lion, v10.7.2 and now cannot connect to MyExpatNetwork on my Macbook pro. Any suggestions?
yeah-find out where you're downloading stuff to, and stick with it. I'm using FireFox and tell it to save the driver and stuff on the desktop, and when I quit FireFox, there it is on the desktop. you'll also need your admin password. It should show up as a .dmg file, then double-click on it to open it. You should see "Brother.pkg" . start up brother.pkg (double click??) and folow the instructions that ought to appear to install the printer driver. If the .dmg file doesn't mount, use Disk Utility** to mount it and get it working. Then you should see the package. and then you can install it.
** you may have to click on the .dmg file and choose "Get Info" then Open with, then choose disk utility, and then open with then change all. then close it. Hopefully that ought to work. If you cannot remember your admin password, I can't help you right now. Looks like you'd need it, to let Brother install that printer driver.

I just upgraded my iMac to Mountain Lion and my bluetooth headset doesn't work. All I get is static. Worked fine with Lion. It doesn't work with my new MacBook Pro either.
I use the headset extensively talking on Skype and gtalk with my partner.

thanks in advance for your helpTry a soft-reset and see if the duplicates still show after the iPad has restarted (a couple of times I've had it happen to me when moving an app whilst it is downloading, and the soft-reset has fixed it) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Everytime I try to click on software udpate it says "Checking for new software" with a progress bar and then
"The Software Update Server is not responding. Check to make sure your network connection is operating normally. If there are no issues with your connection, contact your network administrator for assistance."

I just installed Lion and now my Quicken program can't be used, says it isn't supported. What do I do to access my financial info? Also all my old files created under AppleWorks 6 that weren't converted are no longer accessible. Any help with these is appreciated. I am away from my Time Capsule and can't retrieve anything for 2 weeks. Will I be able to go back and access this info with Lion?
I recently made the same mistake. The thing to do is download the new Quicken Essentials for MAC. After you install the new version follow the instructions on how to transfer your old files. There is a way, it just takes a little time and, if I remember correctly, it takes the info from your quicken backup files. Hopefully you had auto back up on and your files are intact. I didn't and reconstruction was a bear but entirely possible. The new Quicken is quite different but seems to work quite well. Good luck.

It goes on to say "to install Java runtime later, open "Adobe Illustrator CS4" again....I try but it still won't let me open Adobe Illustrator or update Java

When I had installed the app, there was been written: "open", and when I pushed this, NO reaction of the iPad! And crazy too: I am NOT able to find the app itself at any screen of the iPad!!! I can see it only in the list "bought" items. With other words: The app is neither to be seen nor I am able to open it in the "list".
