I just LOST my sites!

I'm not really sure why I'm posting. I guess just because this just hit me and it hurts!
Like most of you, I switched over to iWeb to create sites quickly and easily. Always wondered how I could SAVE AS so I could have a Backup of my sites on another HD. Made some pretty cool sites with iWeb... added Flash and all. Even made money off some of the sites I created. All in all, I was happy but still wondered how could I SAVE AS so I could have a backup of my sites... just in case.
Today, with 8 sites in my iWeb library, (which takes forever to publish), I Saved... then Deleted 7 sites... and Published... then Closed iWeb and uploaded my
site.
20 minutes later I went back to update one of my other sites and when I opened iWeb... there was only 1 site. All of the others were gone! Once again... I Saved... then Deleted 7 sites... and Published... then Closed iWeb. My thought was that since I Saved... that I would be able to Open iWeb and there it would be at the last state where I Saved.
Apparently, when you Close iWeb it does an Automatic Save... or is it when you Publish? At any rate, I'm sitting here with 7 sites that are No Longer available in iWeb and research says I have no way of recovering them.
Apple, Apple, Apple,... we know this is just 'Consumer' software... but we ask that you PLEASE give us features that are common in software. A simple SAVE AS command so we can Save to another location for Backup.
There are other feature requests that I have seen on this forum that would also be Heaven Sent.
Please, Apple... listen to these feature requests. We wouldn't be asking if we didn't need them.

Now, I'm gonna go find a corner to cry in.

Dreamweaver lost my sites!

I use Dreamweaver MX 2004 extensively and had a rather large
list of sites set up in the manager. But then I uninstalled Flash
MX 2004, installed Flash 8 and now when I open Dreamweaver MX 2004
my entire list is just gone. It even starts up with the splash
screen like Dreamweaver itself had just been installed for the
first time! What happened and Is there anyway to retrieve my sites
or am I just going to have to rebuild the entire list? I did not
have my site list exported. Thanks for any help.

You only get .ste files if you have exported them from the
Site Manager.
They are the backup files for your site definitions. Without
exporting
them, you will not find them.
You may have to just redefine your sites. The files
themselves should still
be on your harddrive.

i just lost my ipad. somebody has stole the ipad on my office. i want to know:

TIPS first things have i should do for my stolen ipad:
- make police reporting
- send message and check ipad location on find my ipad/iphone (mobileme.com) follow all directions
- and remote lock or wipe ( but check and make sure that available to you to restore on new ipad before you wipe)
if there any else better than i did, please share....

Just lost 650 songs....

Hello everyone,
I could really use someone's help this am...I am sitting here in a bit of a panic as I just lost over 650 songs when I just installed the software onto my new computer for my new iPod. I had the ipod mini previously and just got the one with video which i love and i had just updated it with all of my other songs on my sister's computer and then I went to install the software and download some more songs and i lost everything. I did the steps to try to retrieve the songs, but since it is a new computer, i realized i didn't get a chance to save the songs. So, now with that said, the 6-8 songs i just purchased before i lost everything now won't seem to transfer over to the new ipod for some reason. I do know that at the beginning it did mention that since my ipod was not allowed access to them, which i don't understand since i just paid for them....does this make any sense???? Because it sure doesn't to me and i'm getting a tad frustrated....i want to have the new music transfer over and nothing will seem to work, what do I need to do?
Also, will i be able to get the music back from my sister's computer if i sign in there? is there something i have to do???? i'm sorry for all of the questions, but this has never happened to me before and i really want to fix this......

Restore them from yourbackup as you will probably not be able to get them off the iPod.
You can try 3rd party apps like Senuti or yamipod.

I would just follow the instructions from this article to give your unused 4s to your spouse. Since you have already started using your 5s, you will still be receiving iMessages on that phone and will have no need to receive them on a device that has been replaced. You can't view your back up files at icloud.com.
You can't view your camera roll and you can't view your Photo Stream files at icloud.com.
The icloud back up plan allows you to "restore" your iOS device from the files you backed up at icloud.com.

You cannot use it. You would have had to set it up on your ipod itself before you lost it. Since you did not "turn on the icloud", then you have not set up find my ipod.

Best Buy Just Lost a Long Time Customer

I am sharing this with the community and Best Buy to showcase the epitome of poor customer service as it relates to a "one-size-fits-all" policy, to warn others, and to tell Best Buy that they've lost a good customer.
On Black Friday, I purchased a new LG 55" LED TV on bestbuy.com. The TV was to be placed in my gameroom which was being remodeled. Like a good boy, I also purchased the geeksquad protection program just in case something were to happen in the future. The television arrived a week later on 12/6. Being that I was not ready to install the TV, it sat in the same place that the drivers placed it until 2 days ago when I opened it for installation.
The television screen was completely shattered. I immediately called best buy Customer Care, and they relayed to me their policy that unless you open the package within 14 days, there is nothing they could do. I told them that I understood that this policy is designed to prevent fraud, which unfortunately I'm certain they deal with all of the time. I did explain however, that the plastic and stickers are still all over the TV and that the screen is shattered from the bezel outward, indicating a squeeze or shipping impact from the side. They did not care.
I called Geed Squad to see if my protection program covered this, they gave me the same story essentially saying that had I opened it within 14 days I could have returned it, but that the plan I bought didn't cover cracked screens.
I went to my local store, where employees relayed to me that they are aware of shipping damages occurring all of the time. They apologized to me and tried to find a way to help me, however given the current policy, they were also unable to help while AT LEAST telling me that they believed that I did not cause the damage myself. In fact, one employee told me that this same exact thing happened to them, and Best Buy wouldn't help them, an actual employee of the company. Nice huh?
LG will not do anything to help me either, stating that it would be on Best Buy to cover the damages somehow.
Again, I understand the intent with these policies and unfortunately dishonest people game the system and ruin it for honest people. That said, this is a one-size-fits-all policy that in this case has failed a long time customer.
I have made many big ticket purchases via Best Buy over the years. No more. I will never shop at Best Buy again, and will spread the word to as many other people as possible to never shop at Best Buy if they expect good customer service.
As of now, I have a $600 paper weight. Thanks for nothing Best Buy, you just lost a good customer.

I can think of very little more upsetting than having an exciting new purchase be damaged when I opened the box. I apologize for your having to cope with such unfortunate circumstances.
With regret, what you've been informed heretofore is true. Outside of the return period, which was extended to January 15, 2015 for Holiday purchases, we are unable to offer a return or exchange for your TV. Geek Squad Protection coverage does not extend to the kind of damage that you describe. Geek Squad should be able to provide repairs, but they would be at your expense. I'm sorry that I do not have better news.
While I understand your reasons, I'm disheartened that this experience may influence your future shopping destination. It is my hope that you will give Best Buy another chance one day.

I have just lost all the music on my i-pod I got the message 'songs on the ipod cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist'

OK so if you have it set to Automatically Update Specific Playlists Only, are those playlists you have selected in that same screen still in iTunes?
In other words, you are telling iTunes that you want only the stuff in the playlists you have picked to be put on the iPod. If you later delete one or all of those playlists in iTunes, then plug in your iPod, it won't find the playlists it is supposed to sync with and would give you that error you see.

Thanks for that babowa. If I add my Yahoo account it just goes straight to MacMail and says I already have an account. There seems to be no basic problem with mails going between Macmail and Yahoo. It is just the folders that have disappeared, while MacMail was out of action. I don't think those particular folders were ever on the Yahoo mail that I access through BT, they were just on the MacMail under "Yahoo" as opposed to "On my Mac". I am worried in case I lose what I already have if I press "Restore" from my back up. As you can see, I am not exactly good at this!

If the contacts are still in Address Book on your computer, but just not on the phone, you can tell iTunes to force replace the contacts on your phone with those from your computer. You can do this by going into the Info tab when your iPhone is connected, and checking the Contacts box under the Advanced section at the bottom of the page.
You may also want to backup your Address Book information as well. It's a good idea to make periodic backups of your contact and calendar information in case information accidentally gets deleted or changed. You can find out how to backup your Address Book data here:

If they aren't on icloud.com they are no longer in iCloud. If you don't have another backup, I'm afraid they're gone.

Have you tried the Reset Safari... in the pull down menu under Safari?
