That's telling you your phone is in "Recovery Mode", & needs to be restored. You'll need a computer to do so:

If you don't have a current backup to restore from, any data on your phone will be lost. -
i just downloaded the new update for itunes and the itunes store wont open up it is taking a long time it still hasnt loaded since 5pm, i also cant sighn in either it just keeps on saying accessing itunes....
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

i cannot download the new update on my phone nor use it at all now because the itunes has too many errors on it and will not allow the recovery mode to commence

I can't download the new updates for my Iphone 4 it gives me an err = -3259
Everytime I try to download the update for my Iphone 4 on itunes, it downloads the entire way then stops and says error network time out and gives me an err=-3259 thing. I checked my network connection and it checked out ok. I don't know what to do any help would be much appreciated

updated my iphone 5 to 6.1.4 and now i cant up date app when available and can not down load free and paid apps since i down loaded the new iphone up date and will not syn ether , time to garbage it or can it be fixed....
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

I downloaded the new IOS last week and my phone can no longer find the network it only states "searching" How do I fix this for the 3gs?
If you have important files that haven't been backup then you can try this by holding down power and home till it restarts and release when you see apple logo.
If you have nothing to lose, you can do a fresh restore by holding down power and home for 10 seconds and after 10 seconds release power but keep holding home till iTunes recognize it is in recovery mode and restore iphone. -

since the 6. version update. of my Iphone 4s My wife was getting my text messages. I found the problem was caused by Imessage when connected to Wifi. I deactivated Imessage on both phones to solve the problem. I now have updated my Iphone to 6.1.1 and i dont get text messages anymore. I have Imessage deactivated on my phone but my wife is getting my text messages again. my wifes phone was not updated to 6.1.1 because the last update lost all her contacts from her phone and we had to but them back in one by one from the outlook list. Her contact are listed in outlook on a seperate list to mine but we can only get my contacts download to her phone. We use the same laptop to sysc phones.
My Iphone does not download photos to My Pictures anymore. I have to copy them across to a folder. I cant find where it backs them up to.
I have lost all confidence in Apple now as i was forced to update to 6.1.1 because of 3G reception issues and not reciving calls and now back to spending several hours trying to fix my phone to recieve a basic text message.Are you and your wife sharing apple id?
If you are that is the reason why she is seeing your imessage.
On both phone go to settings - message - send&receive - make sure the cell is the default.
You will have to uncheck or remove the apple id. -
My iPad is stuck with the apple and the updating line but it is not finishing the update and the iPad is stuck I can't shut it off nothing is working just the bright white apple in the window.

Try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the reset is complete, the Home or Lock screen will display. Once the device is back up, go to Settings>General>About, and see what version is displaying. If it has the iOS number you were updating to, then you are all set.
If it has the old iOS version number, then the update did not take place. The best thing to do in that situation is to hook the device up to iTunes on the computer you sync with, and to update via iTunes.

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery...

Where is the new update for N95-3 and N95-4? i have this two phones and i fell disappoint and mad becuz i bought this expensive cellphone and we have no support from Nokia.. this is no fair we are consumers like any other in the world. And the european model of N95 has a lot of updates and we r exent of the updates and support.. thats no fair my cellphone cost a lot of money and no support? only one update for year?.. my cellphone N95-4 compared to the European model is a garbage. Because the European added many things with update.. like autorotate and improve speed.. im about not to buy another Nokia because we have no support !! Nokia set aside the American market.
THATS NO FAIR !!Actually, it's the American market that set Nokia aside.
Nokia initially refused to allow network operators to customize their phones' firmware. Consequently, American network operators all but stopped buying Nokia phones. Nokia has since relented and does carry out a certain amount of trade in America now, but they're nowhere near as popular over there as they are elsewhere in the world.
Add their lower popularity in America to the fact that you all use different frequency bands from the rest of the world, which means a different set of hardware, and you begin to understand why the American market is a bit of a bugbear and why Americanised products are low priority. If American networks followed the same standards as elsewhere in the world you'd all benefit from the same updates.
Note that this is just personal speculation and not necessarily Nokia's official standpoint. I am not a Nokia employee.

Hello everybody, Im trying to update my ITunes on my MAC (laptop) to the newer version so I can then be able to update the latest updates for my Iphone-3G. I don’t require a complete reinstall just need to be able to update my itunes.
What I have tried so far is I had my MAC search for update’s and it said that I should update to (ITunes version 10 . 6 . 3 ) So I asked it to do the update but after 2hrs of waiting for it to download/update it then puts up a message saying the following- (In order to continue installation, please close the following application: ITunes).
When I tried to do this another message comes up that says- (The update ITunes can’t be installed. The following install step failed: run preupgrade script for Apple mobile device support. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)
I have also tried to run the update while having closed ITunes before I even start the update but the same problem happens after waiting about 2hrs.
Some one that had the same problem said this might be happening in the older operating systems. But that does not make sense because surely Apple want customers who own a MAC and i-phone to still buy from iTunes.
My MAC is about 4-5years old. I have a i-phone.3G,
Can anybody help me please and Thank you?Download iTunes using the tab at the top of this page. Then run the update with iTunes closed.
