I just upgraded to iPhoto '11. When it was finished many pictures do not appear. I have a black box but the information for the picture is still there. Some are raw and some are jpeg. Also lost all albums. Can anyone offer assistance?

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I have not updated operating system or anything, I just suddenly lost the tool bar on emails when I reply or forward an email. This means I have no send or forward etc buttons. I have to go into the pulldown menu for commands. When I create a new message, no problem. It won't let me right click on the top of the email to try and add anything. What's happening here? Hey guys. Bought the new Ministry Of Sound album, The Annual 2014 and went to import the music onto iTunes.
The album is on the online store as I was tempted to purchase it there, in hindsight I wish I had, however I didn't and now the information for the CD cannot be found online and insists I could put all 40 odd songs and all it's data into iTunes myself.
I am happy to do that if I must, but surely if the iTunes store has all the information for the album I can transfer all of it to the CD.
If not what else could I do?
ThanksThe CD track identification in iTunes queries information from the Sony/Gracenote database, and interestingly, has nothing to do with the iTunes Store.
You might as well go ahead and type it in. If you wish to be a good citizen, you can then use the iTunes "Submit Track Names" feature to submit to Gracenote, so that your fellow MoS fans will save typing. -
I downloaded iCloud onto my windows pc. I have an ipad2 and an icloud account. I had to manually add a folder from my pictures(on pc) to the upload of photostream. The pictures r not appearing on my ipad2 . I am sure I turned the settings on the ipad2.
On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Photo Stream off then back on then restart the iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears. -

When was the last time you did a backup with iTunes? If your latest backup has all of the material you have been using you can recover by connecting to the computer you sync with and restore the content via iTunes. Attach to your computer, open iTunes and do a backup restore.

A number of people have complained of this happening to their iPads. The only recommendation I've seen is to shut down and restart the device. Do this by holding down the power button and "Home" button together for ~ 10 seconds. A red slider will appear asking if you want to shut down. After shutting down the iPad, restart by holding down the power button until you see the Apple logo appear.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Yes, your MBP should definitely have come with iMovie. If it doesn't have it, contact Apple directly and ask them what to do.

2. Get your money back.

so i have one ipod and it is a 2005 ipod nano. i have plugged into my computer and i cant get to the music on it. i am trying to burn it onto a disk or even a diffrent folder on my computer so i can just have select songs on my ipod. the reason i have 2 diffrent accounts is because i made a new account for my ipod 4th generation and it got stolen. so now i have my older ipod. is there a way to get it onto my computer with out wiping all my old songs on it?
iPods do not work with "accounts." They work with your iTunes library. You don't have to set up a new iTunes library for each iPod. One iTunes library can sync with as many iPods, iPhones, and iPads as your own, at the same time. iTunes connects to and treats each device separately.
However, if your iPod nano is set up for automatic syncing with an iTunes library that is NOT your current iTunes library, you cannot sync your current library to it without replacing its existing content. Do you have access to the previous iTunes library, the one the iPod currently synced to? If so, you should transfer your song files from that iTunes library to your current iTunes library. Then, sync our iPod to your current iTunes library. You can post back to get more info about the procedure.
If you don't have access to that previous iTunes library, the approach is to first offload the song files from the iPod to your computer's drive, then add the song files to your current iTunes library.
You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store. However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
You can then sync your iPod to your "consolidated" iTunes library. -
I have lost all sound - can anyone help?
I am just starting out with logic and was clicking around. I now have no sound coming out of the speakers. Volume is on and other programmes have sound and also i can see that the tracks in logic are registering. What it might be is that every time i open logic it asks me for a password to an airplay device, could the sound be trying to come through that? How can i disable that feature?
Any help is appreciated.Problem solved. The output was switched to airply not the device......D'oh!
