I just want to add music to my iphone...
I got an iphone this week, connected it to my wife's laptop in order to activate it on AT&T, and it sync'd it with her laptop. Now I have a ton of music on my computer that I want to add to my iphone and when I connected it there, it wont let me drag music from my library over to the phone. It won't let me sync either saying that it will have to erase everything on my phone since it's sync'd with another library...
Isn't there just some mass storage driver type option that I can use? Honestly, I'm not a big fan of the itunes app, I find it aggravating, not intuitive, confusing, etc... Isn't there a simple way to drag a file from a folder and just drop it onto my iphone?!?!??
All music that goes onto iphone must come from itunes.
You can only sync/manage music from one computer/itunes library at a time. If you want music from both computers, you will have to put it all on one computer, then sync.

using 2009 mac pro, Mavericks OSYou have to deselect the song you don't want on your iPhone befor you sync. As long as the music is selected it will remain in your iPhone.
Start iTunes on your computer, connect your iPhone, select your iPhone in iTunes and in the music tab deselect sync entire music library. Then select just those playlist or songs you want on the iPhone finally click on Sync or Apply. The playlists or songs that are not selected will not be copied to youri phone. If they were already on your phone from a pious sync they will be deleted. -

I have a new iphoto folder on my laptop so I don't want to lose my current photos. I just want to add more.Do the following:
rename the old library to something other that iPhoto Library.
copy the library to the Pictures folder on your new laptop.
launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select the old library to open it and convert it to the newer version.
Note: if the older version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 on it before opening with iPhoto on your new laptop.
If you want to merge the two libraries into one library and keep the edited versions, keywords, titles, etc. you'll need to use the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager to do the merging. -

Correct. When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box. This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands. It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.

I want to add music to a slide show but only let music play for a certain number or slides then a different song for the next set of slides...how do i do this?

What are you using to create the slideshow? If you have iMovie for your iPhone then you can add different music tracks for specific parts for the photos that you added for the slideshow. Check out the page below as it is the user guide to do create a slideshow as well as adding different songs and adjusting it to only play a small part.

I have a G5 which I intend to keep.
Now that I have updated my iphone 4s to iOS 7.0.
I cannot add music to my iphone or upload photos to iphoto.
I have the last itunes 10.6.3. which was supported by apple.
itunes will not interact with my iphone on any level.
Apple made all the equipment I use.
Bentley and Ferrari etc do not stop making parts for their cars?

We buy apple why?
Quality.
Intuitive interface.
Stable software.
Design.
All that Steve Jobs consider sacrosanct.
Quality is about ongoing support longevity of product.
Its not about trying to sell to every person on the planet, others are way ahead of you.
So try respective the customers you have, it wont be long before theirs a better operating system and your lead in hardware is marginal.

If you have an iPhone or iPad do not update to ISO 7 unless you want an operating system that looks like windows 8. The graphics looks like it was designed by a artistically challenged mongoose and the operating system is not intuitive something apple users expect. Overly complicated ugly and generally change for the sake of apples paranoia since the death of Steve Jobs.You need to update iTunes to 11.1 on your PC

Connect your phone to your computer, when it appears on the left sidebar of iTunes click on its name, then check the following:
On the summary tab to the right you have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos" and you have not checked "Manually manage music and videos"
On the Music tab to the right you have checked "Sync Music"
Click on Music under Library on the top left and make sure you have checked the boxes to the left of all the songs you want to sync to your phone
Confirm that there are no exclamation points next to any of the songs you want to sync to your phone
You have authorized your computer for all Apple IDs for purchased music you want to sync to your phone (in Store>Authorize this computer)
When everything looks correct, click on the name of your phone again and tap the Sync button on the bottom right to sync your phone. -

Sorry but Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support covers all of the methods. Any chance that you had it set to automatically back up to iCloud and/or sync contacts to iCloud?
You can check on whether the contacts were synced by logging in to https://www.icloud.com/ and looking at the Contacts app there.
The "Delete Backups and turn off backups from your device" in the following link describes how you can use a computer to see if there is an iCloud backup of your phone. Apple does tell you about required equipment for the iPhone -- in 8 point medium gray type on a light gray box. The Store associates kind of automatically assume everybody is running a new model computer and the one I met when we bought our iPhone had never seen a pre-2008 Mac and was somewhat puzzled why anybody would own such an antique. -

If the content was purchased via iTunes, either redownload it via iTunes on the computer or transfer purchases from the device tot he computer. With the device connected, select File > Transfer Purchases.
If the content was not purchased via iTunes, copy it from the computer that it was originally synced to the device to the new computer. -
Just want to say I have an iPhone 4s and only in this app, if I move the phone toward my face like I'm going to talk on the phone, Siri pops up. No idea what that's about. Other than that this all is absolutely splendid.
Sorry it has taken so long for someone to reply to you. What you want to do is go to Settings > General > Siri > Raise to Speak OFF.

I recently switched back to my iphone 3gs because my iphone4 is broken. I also recently reformatted my computer and itunes will let me add music to my iphone 4 but not my 3gs. Itunes recognizes my iphone 3gs but it is in grey and and won't let me add any music to it. help.
