I keep getting an error file security while trying to update to 10.5

The error is:
update 2.1.2 120\getlasterror5
Any idea what this error is and why I cannot update to 10.5 on itunes? Im trying to update my iphone 3GS to ios5. My husband was able to update my phone through his computer last nite but now I cannot get my apps back from my itunes acct because it will not update to the latest software. Itunes is not even recognizing my iphone when I connect it to my computer.
Please help!! Need my apps!!

WHAT OS? What security suite?
I doubt that is the problem (it might) it could be something like your PC BIOS.
You both use the same security software? No?
Same router? so rule that out.
The fastest way, believe me, had "h.... on wheels" with trying on different computers, just setup a 2nd Windows install / backup what you have / setup a new partition if you can, you may just have some under-the-hood issue harder to find pea under mattress / needle in haystack - be creative.
Do a Windows Easy Transfer, always good to have, you may want ot migrate files back later to the new system.
Future iOS updates won't be this involved or difficult.
Some with 3GB though find that they lack the processing power and RAM to really enjoy or appreciate (or like!) the new iOS 5. It seems fine on Touch 4G but I wish I had at least double the RAM it has, and wish there was a new dual-core + graphics along with 512MB or more RAM.

It sounds like you have a hardware problem ((device may need service). Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

To fix the update install problems I've had with CC I use the direct installer I downloaded from Download New Adobe CC Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant/Manager) | ProDesignTools Follow the download instruction to the letter otherwise you will be denied access. Once to have it. Install CC on top of itself. That will back level CC to CC version 14.0. Then use Photoshop menu Help>Updates. All updates should install and all the extensions and addition you made to cc will still be there.

Have you tried exiting iTunes and restarting? The times I've seen this error this has worked. After restarting iTunes the program asks me to sign into my account and then the downloads begin.

My iphone 4 will not turn on after being dropped. It wants to restore, I can connect to itunes and it detects my phone but at the end of the process after a minute of itunes saying "preparing iphone for restore" the phone goes back to the apple screen, disconnects from itunes and the error message pops up. I am installing tiger through an external DVD drive. I have installed tiger on one of my comp. using an external drive before but I'm trying to install it on a different comp. but everytime it is preparing to install it stops. I had this issue to when trying to burn discs recently. I went into the CD creation settings in iTunes and I "unchecked" the option to "Include CD Text" and after I did that, the disc I had been trying to burn several times with error, actually burned without fail. Give that a try and see what happens.

I had this problem for about six weeks. I was following this forum but was too unsure of what might happen to try the fixes that were suggested.
About two weeks ago I decided to delete the downloads.28.sqlitedb file (usingDiskAid(a free program), on a PC running Windows 7). The original downloads.28.sqlitedb was 936 KB. The new one that the system created is 80 Kb., and has stayed at about that size. After about four days I also deleted all the other contents of the Download folder. Ten days later and still no more problems. Downloads are much quicker, nothing greys-out (as was happening frequently before).
Everything has worked well since with no more error messages.
I am using an iPod 4G, iOS 5.1 (originally iOS 5.0). I do not have a manifest file, and as far as I know, have not had one. DiskAid can search the whole "hard drive" on the iPod.
Deleting downloads.28.sqlitedb and the contents of Downloads worked for me.
