It doesn't sound like you are doing anything incorrectly from what I can see. Have you tried restarting the iPad and then see if you can backup?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

About 3 hours ago I downloaded some stuff off itunes. My Macbook Pro will not print anything from any program. I've reinstalled the drivers. I get an error message in Word that says, "Word could not communicate with printer." Any ideas?
Be sure to try restarting, if you have not done so since this problem occurred. You should also power off the printer while you do the restart...
If that does not help, you can try resetting the printing system. Open System Preferences Print & Scan (or Print & Fax) pane. In the sidebar with list of printers, right (control) click anywhere. Select Reset printing system. You will have to add back your printers after you do this. -

Sounds like a possible permissions issue, try repairing the permissions using Disk Utility.
You can open Disk Utility several ways.
1. Use the Spotlight in the Upper Right corner of the screen and search for it, then click it to open it.
2. Open a new finder window (File> New Window)
- Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility
3. Click on the Finder
- Click 'Go' in the menu bar across the top of the screen.
- Click Utilities, then double click on Disk Utility.
Once Disk Utility is open there should be a column on the left side, the name of your hard drive should be listed there.
(By Default it is named Mac HD or Macintosh HD)
Click on it to highlight it.
There should then be a few buttons you can click
- Verify Disk Permissions
- Repair Disk Permissions
- Verify Disk
- Repair Disk

I'm getting an error message from Firefox that says, "Something is trying to trick Firefox into accepting an insecure update. Please contact your network provider and seek help." Do you know what is going on here--what this problem could be? (I do have the latest Firefox version already installed. Apparently this occurs when Firefox has problems with security certificates. There have been a few questions about this. I will try to get advice about this.
Apparently you are using Internet Explorer 9 (From your system details). Do you have Google Updater plugin installed on Firefox ?

Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over. -

I'm changed my password, removed iCloud from my phone ... tried 3G and WIFI with no luck. I also cannot check it on my Mac or iPad. I was able to get contacts and calenders back on my phone but no mail yet.

EDIT: Question: are all of you former MobileMe users as well? Just wondering because I know there were going to be some changes as they completely move MobileMe over to iCloud and drop the "extra" services. I did a system restore, trying to get rid of the new update (which I HATE), and now when I try to open iTunes, I get an error message telling me that "This version of iTunes has not been correctly localized for this language. Please run the English version." You can't change the language option unless you can open iTunes - and IT WON'T OPEN!!! What a piece of crap! If there existed an iTunes substitute, I would purchase it in a hot minute!
Strip it out and start again.

If you really want to roll back to 11.4 uninstall all iTunes/Apple components as described in the second box, restore the pre-upgrade version of the library as described in Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash, then download and install from one of these direct links:

This may be hard to believe, but I think my problem was that the built-in WiFi adapter on my HP desktop had
gotten flaky. I switched to a Buffalo USB WiFi and the problem immediately disappeared. I never saw any errors, etc. from the Ralink adapter. Strange. Might try another type of connection to the Internet.
