I keep loosing internet access

Even though my data is selected , it keeps dropping every few minutes from 1x to 4g then dropped again for 5-10 min. It is soooo slow even when it says 4g it takes forever to load ...ive been fighting the internter for 2 hours just to get to ask this question. When we first moved to this house i had perfect service and could download n seconds but slowly i have been loosing service now only have one bar n totall loss in some rooms.  Is there any way to get better service or refresh towers or something..we update our phones thinking new phones would be better but nothing."

    Hello samanthabertrand,
We know how important it is to stay connected while on the go. After all, the way interact has evolved over the years. Let's partner together to get your wireless data working properly. May I ask what zip code are you in? Also, is there any physical/liquid damage on the device? If you haven't done so already, I would suggest doing a sim card pull, reboot, and retest. Let us know the results.
Thank you...

  • RE1000 keeps loosing internet connection

I recently bought the RE1000 extender to improve our network at home.
I'm using the Linksys WRT610N router and Linksys WUSB600N adapters to connect, no encryption or mac filter.
My problem is that the RE1000 extender keeps loosing internet connection, the computers are still connected to the extender with full signal strength but no internet (Network magic icon with red X).
If I disconnect/connect to the wireless network when this happens the computer will connect to the router with only one bar strength.
To fix the problem I must restart the extender, then it works for a couple of days again before internet is lost again.

As you mentioned in your post that if you connect the computer with the router's network it connects with one bar but does it go online? If yes then connect the RE1000 from the Router and check the DHCP client table it will show the RE1000 IP address and then configure the RE1000 again… Here is the link for the configuration of the RE1000…
    http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=93&login=1&vw=1&app=search&articleid=3760&userrole=Linksy...
Wireless settings in RE1000 will be same as router… In order to get the best performance from an RE1000 you need to place the extender in an area where you still have at least 50% signal strength to your router when you place it in the final location where the RE1000 will be used. Once after the configuration of the RE1000 try to connect the wireless laptop and check the connectivity…
Secondly in the DHCP client table the client name shows up with the Device name and not the Wireless Network Name…

    Go to /Library/Preferences/System Configuration
Move all the files from the System Configuration folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac. See if that made a difference.

  • Linksys E1200 patch 2.0.05 build 2 Mar 28, 2013 - still keeps loosing Internet connection

    Hi Guys,
Anyone with the above issue - suddenly now my internet keeps loosing connectivity.
Is it the ISP fibre issue or the cisco linksys e1200.
    Any feedback appreciated.
    many thanks in advance

To properly isolate on which device is not working properly is to disconnect the router from the setup and connect your main computer directly to the modem (via Ethernet cable). You can observe the internet connection through the modem for at least 24 hours. If you find that the modem is working fine (stable) then the problem is with the router. So what you can do is reset the router (pressing and holding the button down) for 15 seconds and power it down for also 15 seconds. You re-configure the internet connection on the router after that. Set the wireless settings, too, like change the SSID, set the channel to something else and make sure that wireless security is enabled. You use WPA2 for wireless security on the router.

  • How do I keep the internet access plug in on?

When I download Adobe Reader and restart my computer the internet access plug in is loaded but as soon as I go onto the internet through firefox it turns those plug ins off. How so I keep them on?

Firefox has its own PDF Viewer built in, so you need to disable it.
    See: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1261037
That has detailed instructions for setting Adobe Reader to open PDFs in Firefox

  • Wireless keeps loosing internet

Hello, I have a rather strange and very intermittent problem with my wireless adapter (built in). I am running Windows 7 X64 and have “Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC”. Sometimes my wireless connection will simply just drop but not to
the wireless router, only to the internet. It is not an internet connectivity issue on the routers part as other machines in the network gain internet access fine and it happens at both work and home, and only with this machine. When this issue occurs running
a tracert to www.google.com for instance doesn’t even make it to my router’s IP address, pinging returns no response. If I wait a while eventually the connection comes back, a quick way for me to resolve this is to disable the NIC and re-enable it, but sometimes
it will just happen again shortly afterwards. Sometimes I can go for hours with no noticeable interruption, other times it will just happen several times in a short space of time. I am at a loss with what to do, I have updated the drivers to the latest version,
uninstalled the wireless device, restarted the machine and reinstalled the device... I just don’t know. If anyone is able to help me out I’d appreciate it. Thank you Steve

    Hi,
This may be related to the network settings, how about wired connection?
You can try to not use 802.1X authentication to check how it works:
    1.
Click Network and Internet, click Network and Sharing Center, and then click Manage network connections.
    2.
Right-click the network that you want to disable 802.1X authentication for, and then click Properties.
    3.
Click the Authentication tab, and then click to clear the Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network check box, if it is selected.
    Hope it helps.

  • Keep loosing internet connection

I apologise if this isn't the right place ask this, but it I don't know where else to ask. We have a pretty regular problem with our internet. Most days (and sometimes a few time a day) we loose our internet connection completely and the only way to get it back is to unplug our router (a D-Link G604T wireless router) and then after at least 30 seconds plug it back in again. I've spoken to D-Link and they have said that the problem is with our internet provider (TalkTalk). I've also spoken to TalkTalk and they say they haven't got any problems and that it could be the router which they don't support, but it could also be the weather or that other people in the area are using the at the same time.
I just wondered what other people thought and it anybody else had experienced similar problems.
    Thanks

do you have time machine set up?
if yes, observe to see if the internet drop out occurs EXACTLY when the time machine is backing up... if so, you've got the same problem as me.
solve issue, by turning off time machine or moving to ethernet.
    here's a thread that helps

If you don't have TM set up, then please ignore this post...

  • Clents from specific site loosing internet access randomly

Hi, this is happening for a while on one of our site. First, here's an overview of our setup
The problem is happening on clients of 12.x subnet. So randomly some clients can't browse internet sites. It happens for 30min-1h and then comes back by itself.
Doesn't seem to be a routing issue as when the problem is happening I can still ping internet IPs
Doesn't seem to be DNS related as I can resolve LAN and WAN DNS names from the problematic machine
I also looked at my 3 DNS servers and A records are correct ith the correct IP for the client PC
Browsing web sites on LAN is working fine
The problem NEVER happened on the other site (subnet 8.x)
When it's happening it's only to 1,2 or 3 clients and all others of the same subnet are working perfectly
On TMG log, we can see traffic between the client and TMG but with "SYN packet was dropped because it was sent by a source that does not have an established connection with the Forefront TMG computer." errors. As soon as the client PC becomes alive
again, the log doesn't show these "non-SYN" errors again.

    Hi,
    It sounds odd.
How many clients access the internet at the same time? Does the issue exist all the time?
Which version of TMG do you use?Upgrade to the latest version may help you aviod this strange issue.
    Best Regards

  • My Mac keeps loosing Internet connection even on ethernet

    Hi,
I connect to internet through my LAN. Earlier it use to work fine but for sometime now I have been loosing connection every 10 mins or so. I have tried every possible thing I know, including resetting the SMC, deleting the Cookies folder in Library and manually enetering the network preference details. I have encountered many people having this problem for wi-fi but my problem unique as I face it even with ethernet. It is very frustrating as I have to put my Mac to sleep every 10 mins for getting internet. It is a mid 2011 MBP with mountain Lion OS. Please Help

Have you tried resetting your router and your DSL/cable modem? Usually, you just unplug both from mains for about 5 minutes, although some modems, in particular those that have battery backup, may have a reset button.

  • Modem strong AExt is solid green keep loosing int. signal???

keep loosing internet connection.  ISP says modem is strong.  Have solid green light on AExtr.  happens frequently.  changed modem/A Ext cable brand new still loosing connection.  could Airport Extreme unit be faultering???  please advise.

I assume your Airport Express is cabled directly to a cable or DSL modem? In that case, if the status light is flashing yellow it mean only ONE thing - your Airport Express is having trouble connecting to your internet service provider. It does NOT have anything to do with interference.
When this happens - how do you get it working again? Does it just randomly start working again? Or have you never been able to get it working again?

  • IMac Keeps Wi-Fi but looses Internet

Can anyone help with this as it's driving me crazy. my new iMac keeps loosing it's Internet connection even though it remains connected to the Modem Router and reports great signal strength with the Wi-Fi signal.
    A Bit of Background Info
3 days ago I bought a new 27" iMac this is the 3.1GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 model and currently has 4GB of RAM which I'll be updating to 16GB in a couple fo days. This machine came pre-installed with Lion.
I bought this to replace my older iMac a 2006 model which is running Snow Leopard. I also have a MBP which is around 6 months old (I bought it just before Lion was released) and this also has Snow Leopard on it. On top of this I have an iPhone 4 and my wife has an iPhone 3G.
All of these computers and phones connect to my Wi-Fi network which uses a Belkin N300 Wireless Modem Router. This router itself is only about 3 weeks old and replaced a much older Netgear one that just failed one day.
When I was setting up the new iMac I used Migration Assistant to move accounts, documents, settings, everything from the old Snow Leopard iMac to the new Lion iMac.There were a few problems at first in doing this which may or may not be the cause of the problem I'm now experiencing. I'm going from memory here so I'm not 100% sure of the precise details but I'm pretty sure it went something like this:
    1. Turned on new iMac for the first time and was prompted to add it to my Wireless Network which I did.
    2. Connected a CAT5 cable between both Macs
    3. Ran Migration Assistant but it failed to detect the old iMac
    4. Disconnected the CAT5 cable and tried again, still failed to detect the old iMac
    5. Reconnected the CAT5 but ran Migration Assitant first on the old iMac before running it on the new one. The new iMac then found the old one and the transfer began.
    6. After an hour or so noticed that the transfer time was HUGE, like around 22hrs and realised that it must be trying to send it over Wi-Fi and not CAT5.
    7. Aborted the migration but then both iMacs completely crashed and had to be rebooted by holding down the power button.
    8. Rebooted new iMac but chose not to set-up Wi-Fi first and re-ran migration assistant with CAT5 cable attached. Transfer then worked taking around 3hrs.
    9. On completion got a report saying that two programs hadn't been copied because they weren't compatible with Lion but both of these were programs I had previously uninstalled on the old iMac and this message was just referring to left over folders that hadn't been deleted.
    10. Added the new iMac to my Wi-Fi network.
    The Problem
The Modem Router is in the same room as the iMac (and all the other computers and phones for that matter) and is around 3 meters away from it with just a TV in between them and as such the Wi-Fi signal strength is always very strong on the new iMac (and all devices). However several times a day the new iMac just stops being able to access the Internet yet it remains connected to the Wi-Fi network. This happens whether I'm using the Internet on the new iMac at that time like surfing the web or downloading files or if I've just left the iMac on but am not using it. The cure is always the same and that is to right click on the Wi-Fi signal icon at the top of the screen, select Turn Off Wi-Fi and then turn it back on again. The length of time that I have working Interent on the new iMac can be a few minutes or a few hours it just seems pretty random.
When I do loose the Internet on the new iMac all the other computers and phones can still access the Internet and if I can still log into the router ON the new iMac and the routers status shows that it is still connected to the Internet. So the new iMac is connected to the router via Wi-Fi, the router is connected to the Internet but for some reason the new iMac just isn't getting the Internet anymore but if I turn Wi-Fi off and back on again on the new iMac it starts working again!
    Things I've Tried
All the following are things I've tried without success.
    1. Reboot the new iMac
    2. Reboot the router
    3. Turned of Wi-Fi on the new iMac, deleted my network from it's preferred network list, deleted all Airport passwords from my Keychain
I did notice the first time I did this that I had two Airport passwords listed under both Login and System (possibly caused when I first added the new iMac to the network before the successful migration?) but I deleted all of them and when I connected the iMac back to the network I now have one listed under Login and one under System
    4. Added a new Network Location
    5. Turned off Firewall on the router
    6. Turned off Firewall on the iMac
    7. I tried to use a Manual IP address but could not get this to work at all. If I used "DHCP with manual IP address” in Network > Advanced > TCP/IP settings and entered the same IP address that was automatically assigned to the iMac, 192.168.2.7, then it wouldn't even connect to the router at all. Setting it back to auto would make things work again but obviously still resulting in the dropped Internet connection.
Have I got a dud iMac, is there something I've missed, something else I can try?

Can anyone tell me how I keep everything I had in my old photoshop, now I've updated to Photoshop CC 2014.  It did give me the option to transport over all my presets, but because I didn't have internet access at the time, it couldn't do it.  Now I'm not getting the option.  Please help.

Migrating Presets does not require a network connection and you can still migrate your cc presets if you still have CC installed.  Use Photoshop menu Edit>Presets>Migrate Presets...  Migrating presets only migrates presets.  It does not migrate Plugins, settings, extensions and scripts.  CC 2014 is also not completely backwards compatible with CC.  Support for Flash Panels and Oil Painter filter have been removed.  So extensions like mini bridge no longer work in CC 2014

  • Using Bootcamp Windows 7, my wireless internet stays connected most of the time, but occasionally says "no internet access", then reconnects after a period of time. How can I keep a stable connection?

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on Bootcamp. I've installed all Windows software, with all the drivers, and my wireless internet works fine. But, every once in awhile, it will say, "no internet access", and I'm unable to do anything until it restores. Like I've said, all the drivers have been installed, and they're both copied onto my desktop, and on a flash drive.
I need to keep a stable connection, because I only use my Windows partition for gaming, and when I get disconnected from the internet, I get booted from the game. Any advice?

what version of bootcamp you use to install all of the driver ?? is it the problem was from the beginning you installed windows or just now ?? or maybe you can try usb wifi to test the windows is not the problem..

  • My iPad keeps loosing the internet connection. All of my other devices work. Last time this happened, comcast charged $49 to fix it. They said that it's somethin that I downloaded. How can I get back my internet connection on my iPad ?

My iPad keeps loosing the internet connection. Last time this happened comcast charged $49 to fix it. They said that the problem was perhaps caused by something that I down loaded. All my other devices still connected to internet. Tried to reset my settings. Still won't work. Any advice ?

First, changing your DNS settings could not possibly have any effect on this problem.
When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, from the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.
