I Know I am in the Wrong Room, but I Need Some Help with an Mpeg 2 File

Hi, all--
Forgive me as best you can--I am in a fairly desperate situation. Allow me to explain, and please feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you know a lot about this stuff I'm going to describe.
We have a project, 29 minutes long. It is a slideshow of paintings with original music by me.
I live in central Mexico (love it!). However, I was forced to use a video editor who has been a dunce so far. No matter what I ask him for, whether it is a version in a specific format or an edit, I get something different. Every time he has fixed a problem, he has created a new one.
Now his house was broken into and all of his computers were stolen--I suspect he only has low quality backup files of the project.
We are in a huge rush, because this is supposed to debut at an arts festival in October, and we need to duplicate a few hundred DVDs first...and now the problem:
ALL WE HAVE FROM HIM IS AN MPEG2 of the project. The sound won't play on my Mac, but it plays on my friend's PC, so I have to assume that a pro duplication house won't have a problem with the sound if I send him the file on a thumb drive.
THE PROBLEM WITH THE MPEG2 is that it is jittery when key images slide across the screen. This will look terrible on a 6 x 10' screen at the premiere, plus we do not want to sell DVDs with this unprofessional look. I asked the editor for an M2V file (requested by the guy who was going to create a menu) and he instead gave me an Mpeg2 that is jittery.
QUESTION: is there such a program that can take an mpeg 2 and eliminate jitter? I do NOT think I can get another file from the editor.
CAN ANY OF YOU DO THE WORK IF I SEND YOU THE FILE? I WILL PAY.

On both a MacBook Pro, an Acer laptop and my Mac Tower. I would love to think that it is a problem with the playback system, and that if I merely send the file off to the duplicator they won't have the same problem. Maybe that is the case...I don't know if I have a choice rather than sending it off to see. But it happens in the same spots, in the same way, on all three of the players so I'm a little reluctant to have faith.

For a DVD, one is limited by the total Bit-Rate (both Audio & Video), but with longer prodcutions, some users choose too low a Bit-Rate. If this is the issue, one would need to go back to the original Project and do a new Export/Share."
Of course, but in the case there is no more 'original project.' It is gone like the wind, stolen along with his computer and backups.
I think I am stuck using one of two files as my master: a DVD he burned where I only see the stutter/vibration/jitter once, or the mpeg2 file where I see it three times. Hopefully, the duplication house can rip if off of one of them and not see the jitter. I know that in audio, my personal filed, you can do a lot to enhance already existing sound--EQ, compression, tape saturation emulation software, etc. I guess I'm hoping there is some kind of analog to the video world that address jitter after a source has been printed--if indeed the source has been printed to be jittery.

Beaten to death I know - but I need some help with Gtalk

So I am 100% certain that the topic of Gtalk and the ability to communicate to buddies on other IM servers has been just flat out abused by now. With that said - I've been driving myself completely crazy trying to set this darn thing up correctly, not to mention the tremendous amounts of time that I've blown.
So...... before I continue to waste away more time & patience - I want to put in my own words what I am trying to accomplish, check with you peeps and see where I need to go from here to fill in the blanks.
Here we go: I have been using iChat that is set up with my Google talk "Jabber" account and it works great as long as your entire world of people you'd like to chat with are also using Gtalk. My problem has been that many of my friends & family have hotmail or yahoo, I am completely unable to chat with them, as when I try to put in the needed info I get the infamous "waiting for authorization" (if only a snickers bar came with that).
I would like to be able to use my GTalk account and chat with friends using Yahoo or Hotmail - using iChat as my way of doing so.
I've already attempted (likely unsuccessfully) the whole Psi thing, heck I've created who knows how many different accounts and can only hope that I've accomplished fully deleting most of them. Quite honestly I'm just not able to put the Psi thing together correctly, or at least in such a way that will allow me to continue using Gtalk + the ability to chat with those using Yahoo or Hotmail.
If anyone could offer some explicit info on
a) can this be done (easily would be great), or am I truly just wasting time...
b) maybe point me to a website(s) that is(are) designed along the lines of "iChat & IM for dummies guide"

Now it was certainly the case that you could set up Transports on other server and your Jabber ID that was logged in would see that an use it even if you were not logged into that particular server. (So using GoogleTalk would see MSN Buddies effectively)
I am not quite so sure that this is the case now. I rarely use the Jabber side myself as I have always had some Buddies showing as Not Authorised and Awaiting Authorisation even If I have chatted to them.
I have found that some of the Jabber servers I originally used have stopped MSN and other transports which does not help.
I have found I have had to check by using Psi that a transport is still active.

He has not been able to post here as frequently as he did due to other commitments but try AIM texting him first.

I had written a select query as below :

IT_REJ is a Work area:

This is causing performance issue. They are asking me to include the where condition for this select query.
What should be my select query here?

Ask in the ID forum and be much more specific about your configuration. there could be any number of reasons why manifests, temp files or restore files are created.

I'm an ancient Solaris sysadm (like Solaris 6, long, long ago) who is trying out OpenSolaris on a T42 laptop. I registered under the OpenSolaris forum but alas, I can't login and the support people haven't fixed my problem, yet. Instead, they set me up for the reg Sun forums, so here I am. ??
My problem:
Can't get my cheapo Samsung ML-1740 to print using the print manager. Says it's ready to fly, but nothing pops out. I'm assuming it's a driver issue. Went to the HCL pages and the laptop was listed as compatible, but the printer isn't confirmed as compatible for OpenS., so I'm assuming my printer will never work under OpenS. All I can find out on the Web is a driver for LINUX. Im assuming that a LINUX driver won't work under OpenSolaris...
Any suggestions before I end up trying Ubuntu instead? (I'm doing all of this in Live CD; don't see any reason why it shouldn't work other than a poss driver issue.)

OK, back to basics:
1.) The Samsung is NOT a PostScript NOR a Network printer (see for example the User Manual at: http://www.samsung.com/au/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP01&prd_ia_cd=06010400&prd_mdl_cd=&prd_mdl_name=ML-1740), so two topics:
a.) How did you connect it: Parallel? USB?
b.) What do you want to print? PostScript? Then you need a rendering engine (that's, why I did propose CUPS, because that makes things easier to setup, BUT: it's not feasable in the LiveCD!)
To check with 1.) a.): (In case of USB connection): What does "cfgadm" list? Is there a USB Printer listed somewhere? I've not yet done it myself, so can't provide examples of the output... ;-( And: What does "prtconf -D" provide? It should also somehow list the usbprn driver... Also "modinfo|grep usb" should list the usbprn driver...
If connected via parallel, you might need to enable or "free" the parallel port... Never done that myself, so also sadly no examples here...
b.) Now you need to "drive the SLP language" of the printer. Because I assume, you do not want to print plain ASCII... ;-) That's why I guess, that CUPS et.al. might come in handy here... And the CUPS GUI (BUI) also manages all the other config steps. But, sadly, as mentioned, you need to install CUPS as described above, and that's not feasable on the LiveCD... I also doubt, that ghostscript et.al. are available directly from the LiveCD, so the only thing that you might achieve from the LiveCD is printing a plain ASCII page...
So, can you see "some kind of action" on the printer after you spooled the file? (aka: Does the communication to the printer work? Or can you see error messages in /var/adm/messages?)

You may see that message below the Google search box on www.google.com/firefox which is the old Firefox default home page. That page is no longer being maintained by Google.
You should try changing your home page to:
about:home
If you don't know how to change the home page, you should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].

Need some help with the Table Function Operator

I'm on OWB 10gR2 for Sun/Solaris 10 going against some 10gR2 DB's...
I've been searching up and down trying to figure out how to make OWB use a Table Function (TF) which will JOIN with another table; allowing a column of the joined table to be a parameter in to the TF. I can't seem to get it to work. I'm able to get this to work in regular SQL, though. Here's the setup:

I've got a source system built by lazy DBA's and app developers who decided to store foreign keys for many-to-many relationships as delimited structures in driving tables. I need to build a generic table function to parse this data and return it as an actual table. In my example code, I don't actually have the parsing part written yet (I need to see how many different formats the source system uses first) so I just threw in some stub code to generate a few rows of 4's and 5's to return.
I can get the data from my source table to my destination table using the following SQL statement:

Is this some kind of bug with the code generator or am I doing something seriously wrong here? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Need some help with all of the jumper settings.

Wow, this has been some ordeal. I inherited a G4 iMac from a friend, which has been a great deal of trouble to me, particularly with the jumper settings. Anybody like dealing with that? Come on down...
So here's my situation. The hard drive in the iMac was dead. No big deal I'll just replace it, so I got a drive which I'm SURE is compatible. I plugged it in paying little attention to the jumper settings on it because until the beginning of this ordeal I knew nothing about jumper settings.
Now this is where it starts making no sense... I booted the computer while holding down the mouse button to eject, then put in a 10.2 OS disc, and then restarted holding C to boot from the install disc. It loaded fine but when I got to the installation step where I pick a drive to install it to, there were NO drives in the menu.
Maybe it needs to be formatted, right? WRONG. From the install screen I clicked open disc utility, and found the drive there in the list. It recognizes the drive, so why can't I install to it? I tried reformatting the drive as Mac os extended or whatever, and this made no difference.
This is where the jumpers come into play. I can't find jumper settings anywhere online for the DVD-RW Pioneer DVR-104PC Superdrive, so I've left the jumper on the optical drive alone and tried toying with the jumper settings on the HD instead, but I tried every possible setting and none of them worked to allow the installer to see my hard drive.
So what do you all think the deal is? If you know what the various jumper positions are for this particular optical drive, by all means let me know so I can toy around some more. Or if you know an alternate solution other than what I've suggested, please share. I've already invested money in a drive, some thermal paste, and Torx screwdrivers for this thing, so I really just want to get it working.... Let me know...

My experience with WDs is that when they need to be "Master single" I use no jumper. That's in most Mac setups including the iMac G4s. Which drove me nutz until I figured that out. All other manufactures I've run into need a jumper across the first pair on the left as you look at it from the back. WD is the odd man out.
Also if you Google:
"western digital jumpers" the 2nd response you get is from OWC (macsales.com) and they're telling you to use the slave setting. Don't know about that I've always used no jumpers but I see a lot of hard drives so next time..

Brand new to the Mac World and NEED SOME HELP with startup disk issues

Hello everyone. I am a new Mac user and I purchased my mac on ebay. It's an iMac that came with tiger 10.4.11. I wanted to get a fresh start on the computer, since the person who had it before me did not erase all of his stuff. I didn't know what to do so I got a startup disk/install disk off ebay also. When I go to install it says "software cannot be installed on this computer." Before I bought the software, I had called the apple store and they said it should be fine to buy any install software to put on the computer. If I could get any help it would be appreciated. I had read previous threads that I should hold down c when I start up (didn't work) or that I should select archive or erase and install (I never got these options when I went to install).

What iMac is it? I only ask as the Retail Tiger CD/DVDs don't work on IntelMacs, only PPC, (G3, G4, G5 Macs).
Sorry what you were told by the Apple Store, but if it's a Gray CD/DVD then it is Machine specific as Neil stated.

Need some Help with the new Genius Mixes on iTunes 9

I would like to know how to use the New Genius Mixes on iTunes 9. I don't quit know how to use it yet and like all of us we're all just learning how to use the Genius Mixes. I did watch the KeyNote but they didn't go into great detail on how to use it. Does Apple have a web site that has more detail instruction on how to use the genius Mixes? I did find some info. on how to use the Genius mixes but it didn't go into great detail on how or what to do with the genius Mixex and thats what I need.
when I click on the genius Mixes icon under the "Genius", what shows up is a Big square with four album images of my music that I have in my music collection, I go and roll my mouse over the Big square with my four music albums and click on it to play the music and it'll play what ever I have in the Genius Mix list plus as I roll my mouse over the Big Square, under it it says "Jazz Mix" with some text writings under the Jazz mix.
I want to change the Jazz mix Title and I want to know how to add more music square boxes to my Genius Mixes just like they show in the Keynote and I would like to edit and create my own four square music boxes in my Genius Mixes.
I never used my music genius list, I always created just a play List, now I am just learning how to use this music Genius lists and I don't know how to use it at all and I need someone that knows how to use thr Genius Mixes list to help me how to use it since there isn't a how to book yet for the new iTunes 9.
Can someone Please help me with the new genius Mixes on iTunes.

Today, I was getting an array out of bounds exception on a split
I don't see how that could happen with the 'split' method since it creates its own array.
For this particular string, ordSplit.length = 24 and commas = 26.
PERFECT! That is exactly what it should be!
Look closely at the end of the sample string you posted and you will see that it has trailing empty strings at the end: '1096200000000242505,,,'
Then if you read the Javadocs for the 'split' method you will find that those will NOT be included in the resulting array:

Splits this string around matches of the given regular expression. This method works as if by invoking the two-argument split method with the given expression and a limit argument of zero. Trailing empty strings are therefore not included in the resulting array.
Just a hunch but your 'out of bounds exception' is likely due to your code assuming that there will be 26 entries in the array and there are really only 24.

Dear all, I need help with the colour profile of my photoshop CS6.
I've taken a photo with my Canon DSLR. When I opened the raw with ACDSee, the colour looks perfectly ok.
So I go ahead and open in photoshop. I did nothing to the photo. It still looks ok
Then I'm prompt the Embedded Profile Mismatch error. I go ahead and choose Discard the embedded profile option
And the colour started to get messed up.
And the output is a total diasater
Put the above photo side by side with the raw, the red has became crimson!!
So I tried the other option, Use the embedded profile
The whole picture turns yellowish in Photoshop's interface
And the output is just the same as the third option.
Could someone please guide me how to fix this? Thank you.

I'm prompt the Embedded Profile Mismatch error. I go ahead and choose Discard the embedded profile option
always use the embedded profile when opening tagged images in Photoshop - at that point Photoshop will convert the source colors over to your monitor space correctly
if your colors are wrong at that point either your monitor profile is off, or your source colors are not what you think they are - if other apps are displaying correctly you most likely have either a defective monitor profile or source profile issues

you may want to download the PDI reference image to check your monitor and print workflows
and complete five easy steps to profile enlightenment in Photoshop
with your settings, monitor profile and source profiles sorted out it should be pretty easy to pinpoint the problem...

Need some help with the samples

I am using CR for Visual Studio 2010. After installing CR and verifying the install per the developer guide, I down loaded the samples crsdk_net_samples_12.zip and loaded VB_Win_Data_DataSets.sln, electing to convert it from VS2008 to VS2010. After trying this several times, I could only get several error messages in the conversion log file.
I have read that it is easy to get these to work in VS 2010, but I can't find any instructions. The Crystal Reports for .NET SDK Samples download page has no readme file, or instructions or hints for conversion of these files into VS2010. I could not find samples created specifically for VS2010.
I must be missing something simple. Can you help me get some of these samples working in VS2010? I am interested in connecting to Collections in my program and to strongly types xml datasets. I plan to use filters and parameters and to use the ReportDocument Object Model. I could proceed without the samples -- but I am sure life would be a lot easier if I can get them to work and benefit from the good work that is there.
I could provide the log file. In part, it says:
Project: VB_Win_Data_DataSets Warning: this project requires Crystal Reports, which is no longer included with Visual Studio.
The converter (VS 2008 to VS2010) showed one error, converted 1 file, and did not convert 19 files.

I had changes this work area into Internal table and changed the select query. PLease let me know if this causes any performance issues?
I had created a Z table with the following fields :
ZADS :
MANDT
VKORG
ABGRU.
I had written a select query as below :
I had removed the select single and insted of using the Structure it_rej, I had changed it into Internal table
select vkorg abgru from ZADS into it_rej.
Earlier :
IT_REJ is a Work area:
DATA : BEGIN OF IT_REJ,
VKORG TYPE VBAK-VKORG,
ABGRU TYPE VBAP-ABGRU,
END OF IT_REJ.
Now :
DATA : BEGIN OF IT_REJ occurs 0,
VKORG TYPE VBAK-VKORG,
ABGRU TYPE VBAP-ABGRU,
END OF IT_REJ.
I guess this will fix the issue correct?
