I know there are tons of these videora questions, but I need a little help
Okay, I do everything JUST like I'm supposed to, and the video even appears on my desktop. But when I try to drag to my iPod, it just doesn't do anything. Not an error message, it just sits there. Can someone help me?

AppStore doesn't know there are updates unless you kill it?
I noticed on the web that Fring had updated their iPhone app. I went to the App Store (via the iPhone) and it said all my apps were up to date. I thought, that's odd and tried again, same thing. It was not until I went into the recently used apps tray, killed the App Store, exited the tray and select the App Store icon again that if finally found 9 updates to Apps I own. So, if you never kill it you will never know there are App updates? Really?
Interesting... It may be an intermittent issue then, similar to how I get black squares in the camera roll and pictures that don't show up. That is until the app is killed or the phone is rebooted.
I should mention that I don't believe I had rebooted my phone in several days so this App was backgrounded and each time I'd bring it up to look for updates I'd have none. If the same thing has been happening to you, you might want to try killing the App in the recently used tray and selecting it again from your home screen.
I really am starting to feel like this was sort of rushed to market. This stuff was not tested well, or was released with these issues known (even worse). Maybe there are Apps that cause it to get into this state, some that are not working properly in iOS4? -

I'm another one of the very grumpy customers regarding the problems synching Outlook calendars with the new 2.0 iPhone.
I have another twist: I did not ever have multiple calendars in Outlook until the 2.0 update; I had just one. After I updated the iPhone software to 2.0 I have multiple calendars which I did not create. My iPhone has all the events listed, color coded by these various calendars, but when I look at my calendar(s) in Outlook, I can not see all the events at once. So my iPhone is the most complete, and my computer version is fragmented. This is an unacceptable royal pain. I'm relieved to know it's not just me, my iPhone, my Outlook, etc., but I'm definitely one of the many of us who are grumpy with Apple and impatient for their fix.
My question is: how do I sync my Outlook to my iPhone and delete all these calendars without deleting events? I just want one calendar again: mine, all mine.
PS I do have recurring events, but way too many to hand change them all; that's ridiculous. Even if I didn't have many of those it's ridiculous that the recurrences should create these problems. It's a pretty basic electronic calendar function. -
I have a MacAir, mid 2011 model, and want to view video on my TV. I see that I need a mini display port to Hdmi but there are many of these. What exatly do I need and how does one go about viewing a movie downloaded to the MacAir on a TV screen?

Final cut pro X is supposed to accept AVI. However the AVI files my client gave me cannot be imported in my Final cut pro X. I know there are softwares that can convert AVI to APPLE PRO RES, but does that alter the quality of the media ?
There are apps that will give you tech specs on files. I think Media Info is one. Most likely it's in done delivery codec like DiVX. AVI is a piece of **** as a container anyway and should have been completely abandoned years ago.

I cannot shut down my iMac (for days now) as I get the following message: "Photos are being imported to the photo library."
Now as far as I know there are no photos being imported and even if there were 5 days is crazy. How can I resolve this please?
JLB284Open Activity monitor in Utilities, go to the CPU tab>All Processes, and note any process that would appear to be related to importing photos, such as iPhoto, and use Force Quit. This may only be a temporary fix, as it may start all over again when you reboot. If that happens, we need to do some more investigating.
Also, close all open Applications, then open Terminal in Utilities and copy/paste and hit return, then post the output of this command.

I am trying to log onto my wireless connection but it keeps telling me I'm unable to locate any wireless network. I know there are several networks nearby. Is this a problem with my phone or my router?
I found a solution that has worked on both iPhone 4's I have that have had the same issues, and also including not being able to download updates in the App store.
Go to Settings > WiFi and turn it OFF.
Next go to General > Cellular > Cellular Data and turn it OFF
Next go back to Settings > WiFi and turn it ON, (wait a few seconds for it to sync with your network)
Finally go back to General > Cellular > Cellular Data and turn it ON.
I had the same issues on both my wife's phone, and my own, and it fixed it immediately without changing any proxy settings or reboots, (which I did try on my phone and did not work, but did not try on my wife's phone)

You need to create HTML signatures for use with the Apple Mail apps. You can't just throw in a logo, it has to be stored on the internet and it's location coded into your signature. You may find a service and an app that helps you do that in the iTunes App Store.

I'm trying to connect to my home wifi with my imac gh5. After I enter the password it says connection timeout or password incorrect. I know there's no issue with the connection but I don't know what else to do. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
What is the make & model of your home Wi-Fi router that you are attempting to connect your G5 iMac to? Which exact model of iMac do you have?
What wireless security type is your router using: WEP, WPA, or WPA2? If you temporarily disable wireless security, can the iMac connect to it now? -
There are text messages that I'm having trouble deleting. With some of my text messages, I can swipe to the left and delete ... or press and hold, get more and delete to trash can icon. But there are some where neither will work. Can't delete. Help!
But once again, I do not want to lose my other texts, app progress, and photos. I could sync the photos but i would still lose the app progress and texts. I would only restore if it was the only option left, but the other space, as already stated, isnt the main concern. The main concern is those 'deleted' texts. If they go, then a good size chunk of the other space goes. I know you CAN delete texts for good. It worked fine before. All i want to know is why its not working for me now, and how to fix it.
I also know that when you delete texts on your iphone, they get marked for deletion, however they stay on your device (thats why they show up when you search for them.) then when you sync your device with itunes, the texts marked for deletion should disappear. When i synced they didnt disappear. Thats what i need an explanation/solution for. Why the texts marked for deletion didnt get fully deleted after the sync. -
I am trying to enter a split point for a file going on a dual layer disc. There are chapter markers in the file but auto function does not see them. Went back and put a small split in the timeline in fcp and exported to mpeg 2 again and auto function does not see that either? Manual msays to manualy enter split poind in DVDSP but can't find any way to enter that split point in DVDSP? How can I manualy enter a split point in DVDSP 3 or 4?

iTunes shows that there are no songs on my iphone but there are 274 songs there. The data storage shows up as "other" on iTunes. I just want to clear the music on my phone but I can't seem to do so. Is there any way to do this? You used to be able to swipe and delete a song straight from your phone but I can't seem to do that anymore.

Have you attempted an iTunes restore and setting up as a new device? Sometimes battery life issues can be caused by corrupted iOS software.
