I like to creat shortcuts on my desktop for daily site visits. I used to be able to select it from my mouse cursur but cannot do it now why?

If I will be visiting a site on regular basis when I used to hit the right part of my mouse where Back,Reload,Bookmark etc was shown there also was a "Create A Shortcut on Desktop" option. It is not there any longer and want to know how can I get that back?
I do NOT care for the Bookmark or Save feature.

My guess is that they recently changed how the videos work. I logged in on my MacBook and the stream worked fine, but it is Flash content in a JW Player video player. From what I see on the website. This video player works with html5 as well as Flash so I'm not sure why it isn't working, unless the site has not updated the content for html5 and is only using Flash right now. But you should get the message on the iPad that the content is in Flash and can't be viewed on the iPad.
I tried it with three different browsers identifying as mobile and as desktop browsers and I get the same results as you no matter what I do. So my assumption is that the site content was recently changed and it has to be updated. But that is just a guess.
The message about the website having issues when I used iCab Mobile and identified as a desktop browser. The issue has to be on their end.

I have gone into Project View and selected appropriately. The bar shows I have room to burn this DVD, but it does not burn. I have burned so many DVDs in the past, but this one just will not burn. I am so confused at this point. I will say this is the first 8.5gb I have attempted to create and burn. My specs list a 7.7gb or 4.7gb as operable....but there are no 7.7gb dvds. I had to purchase 8.5gb. Help? What am I doing wrong? I have spent so much time on this, and just cannot figure it out.

Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow. It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them. You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version). Personal preferences showing here.

Create a new ID:
On the iPod go to
- Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into the other one. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
- Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into the other one. Make sure that under You can be reached at only the newID email address is listed
- Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with the new one
- Settings>iTunes and App Store and sign out your ID and sign in with the new one.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

This can be done from Single User Mode. You're going to need a little nerve though since everything is command line based.
1) Enter Single User Mode by restarting and holding down Command+S on the keyboard. A whole bunch of UNIX stuff will go by on the screen in white text on a black background. When it's done, the command prompt will be sitting at:
:/root#
2) Above that, you'll see that it tells you to enter two commands. Run this one first by typing it in and pressing enter:
/sbin/fsck/ -fy
This does a system file check. A good thing to do in your case as it may be damaged. It could take a while. When it's done, you'll be back at the :/root# prompt.
3) Enter the second command and press enter:
/sbin/mount -uw /
4) Type the following at the prompt:
cd /Users/name/Desktop
Where it says "name" above, the short name of your user account goes there. If you're not sure what it is, first type:
cd /Users
Then type:
ls
That's a lower case L, not a one. It stands for "list". You'll get a listing of all files and folders in the Users folder. So if your short account name is diane, then the command will be:
cd /Users/diane/Desktop
After entering that command, the prompt should read:
:Desktop root#
Type:
rm *.jpg
Be very careful to type is exactly as shown. rm followed by a space, then *.jpg. Press enter and all files ending in .jpg will be deleted from the Desktop folder. With 450,000 of them, you could be waiting a while for the prompt to come back.
Type:
exit
and press enter to boot back into OS X.

You can drag the favicon on the left end of the location bar onto the desktop to create a shortcut.
You can also use an extension.

The company I work for has recently changed from hardware provider. We ‘re back to Lenovo (IBM when I started here). The looks have hardly changed. I’ve compared my old T43 with my new T430, it’s very familiar to use ;-)
But, to the point, there’s more that hasn’t changed and that’s the preinstall and no option to do it otherwise. I’d like to create an OEM disk with 2 driver matrixes so I can use it to install our, recently bought ThinkPad’s and ThinkCentres.
What I need is an OEM license which should be in the $OEM$ folder. On the Dell and HP it is, why can’t I find it on Lenovo. The OEM key I found, is all the same on theLenovo systems is the same so probably I can use that.
The benefits of the OEM Windows:
It can be slipstreamed with the updates once in a while, like I’m used to with our Dell computers, and so do not have to update for hours after installation like it is now. (It gets more every time)
The software we don’t need or are not allowed to use by company policy like Chrome and Norton are not installed.

None of the major system vendors have used Microsoft OEM license for quite a while now. Microsoft has other licence approaches which are used by volume system vendors.
There are methods for creating SOEs (Standard Operating Environments) on Lenovo systems, and hopefully someone who has specific expertise on doing that will see your message now it is the correct forum, and reply soon.,

AOL Desktop for Macs. Anyone have used it?

I use AOL as an internet service provider for dial up. Don't knock it, but you can if u want I'm cool with people here. I use the dial up because I use two ISP and attend a university. Because now of the blended and distance use of the computer, the importance of having two Internet Service Providers on dial up is important. You see i can always grab another phone line, but not just another DSL.
America Online offers an AOL desktop for Macs. Advertised as designed by mac users for mac users. Has anybody tried this software that must be downloaded?
Since it says AOL for desktop and to me this means i have to look at junk on my computer screen. Plus my now Mac desktop or the screen display appears very fast, and i like the pretty blue. Does anyone have experience with this AOL Desktop for macs?

I haven't installed AOL Desktop For Mac yet but I know you can run both that & AOL For Mac OS X Version 10.3.7 simultaneously.
So you could install it to test drive without losing AOL For Mac OS X.

What word you didnt understood in the message posted by "huyu"
the command to create a shortcut 1234.lnk under C:\, which point to folder 1234 under D:\ is as below
<Shortcut.exe Path>shortcut /F:"C:\1234.lnk" /A:c /T:\1234
<Shortcut.exe Path>The command completed successfully.
Why i say this because ,i coud run the same sucesfully see the image attached.
Just in case if you havent understood, the "C:\1234.lnk" is the "path" of the shortcut file and "1234" is the "name" of the shortcut file (this file gets generated automatically and you just have to specify the name and the path)
"D:\1234" is the "folder path" to which you would like to assign or create the shortcut. Hope you get it.
Also the <Shortcut.exe Path> is the "path" where you have downloaded and stored the "Shortcut.exe" in your local machie
In the above example i have created the shortcut for the folder "1" in "C:\" drive with the shortcut name as "4" in "c:\"

I would like to create chapters within my footage for Scene selection on the DVD menu

I have edited footage using FCPX and exported it to allow me to use it in IDVD. I now would like to set chapter markers so that the DVD menues allow for scene selection. I believe that I may have to do this in FCPX before exporting it

This is one of the most embarrassing omissions in FCP X. There is no proper facility to add chapter markers and export them with your movie.
The way I get around it is to make each chapter a separate project in its own right. I then export each of the chapters and when I bring them into my DVD Authoring application, it's a synch to add the chapter markers (between each file on the timeline) with precision.
As you've already created your project (presumably in one hit) create a new project for each chapter then copy and paste the relevant clips into each 'chapter' project, then export.
Alternatively, you can add chapter markers from within the preview window in Compressor if you have it - but it's quite fiddley and not very precise.
