You have to be in a country to use its store - you will need to be in the US and have a US billing address on your account to be able to use the US store (that applies to buying and redownloading).
You can use iTunes Match in South Africa, do you not have a backup copy of all of your US iTunes purchases so that you can subscribe to it and upload those that aren't in the South African store to it ?

I have redeemed a gift card and gained 5 song credits. When I try and buy songs, iTunes takes me through to the ''redeem'' page but when I try and enter the gift code, it just opens up a window that says this code has already been redeemed. How can I actually use the credits to buy songs? There doesn't seem to be an option to use ''credits''... Thanks.
What exactly do you see when trying to buy a song, what messages appear ? You can't change how items are billed, it's automatic, as long as you are buying for yourself then your account's balance should be used for the purchase, it's only if gifting (which can only be done via a credit card) or if your balance doesn't cover the entire purchase price that credit card details should be asked for - or if it's a new account and you didn't follow particular steps when creating the account. (A gift card can only be redeemed once, you can't re-enter its code.)

Nonesense, why would a service that offers redeemable cards as cash would require a credit card verification. Who is answering this question? I am sick of Apple! I am here because I want to buy music for the year end festivities and had this card that I got when I bought a very pricey Mac Book Pro for my daughter, I thought at least I was getting something out of an outrageously high priced machine, but no, they cant' just make things easy for you... I have a gift card that I have not been able to use. I am told I have $12.42 in my account, but don't know how to access it. When I try to download a song, I am referred to my credit card. How do I use my gift card?
Also, there are two downloads in my account that I can not delete. I did not order them and do not know how they got in my account. I think they are SciFi TV programs. How do I get rid of them?

If so, then you can only pay for a gift via a credit card. Or is it just asking you to update/confirm your billing details? If so, that's a normal security precaution. Just make sure your credit card information is correct and it should then deduct the purchase from your credit balance.

It sounds like you are unable to update any of your apps and dont have a credit card. You should be able to use this article to select your payment method as None in your iTunes account settings:

I have a Canadian credit card but not a Canadian address. My address is in South Korea. I want to purchase a movie from the iTunes Store, but I cannot currently because there is no Korean iTunes Store. May I switch to the Canadian iTunes Store with a Canadian credit card and a Korean address? Or how can I gain access to the Canadian iTunes Store?
The iTunes Store in a country is intended for use only by that country's residents, and only while they are in the country. To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card (or other card type if acceptable in a country) issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store. You are also restricted to waiting 90 days between country changes.

If you have a balance, how do you spend the rest of it with out having to put in your credit card info?
Among other things iTunes uses your credit card to confirm that you are a resident of the same country as the store you are using. Occasionally it may ask for you to confirm the details and "prove" the card by putting on a holding charge which it later releases. If you have credit in the store that should be applied to any purchases first, even if iTunes asks you to confirm your details. Your listed credit in the window can become out of date if you use more than one computer or device to make purchases. Signing out of your account, then back in, should refresh the balance.

I am working from a Mac and and I recently changed my credit card to pay for my membership and was told that none of my products or plans are able to be loaded.
I did have two accounts, however one was a trial membership and one was a paid membership which is the one in question.
I would love to speak to someone at adobe but as usual there is NOBODY TO SPEAK TO and I am being sent around the same loop with troubleshooting solutions that do not help with my issue!!!! HUGELY FRUSTRATING!!!
Can someone please help me as I have a deadline in a few days and a lot needs to be done in a short period of time.
