I guess what I have experienced might be a special case of 'Restore previous sessions'. The actual situation was that after I rebooted my laptop, Adobe update jumped out indicating an update being finished successfully. After I clicked on the 'close' button of the Adobe window, it automatically started firefox and linked to its website. But I did not find the 'Restore previous sessions' page this time. Then I restarted firefox, this time there was a start page with 'Restore previous sessions'. However, sadly enough, it is only restored my pinned pages plus the Adobe website. Actually, I am using 'bookmark all tabs' from time to time to secure opened tabs, but this time I did not expect such an incident. I would suggest to improve the 'Restore previous sessions' with multiple time tags and appear in all cases including my reported case here, after updating firefox, crashes etc. I like firefox in most occasions, therefore believe and hope it becomes better and more robust. Also you could try the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/session-manager/ Session Manager] add-on which gives more control over how sessions are restored.

Last night my computer (Win 7 Dell laptop - Firefox) did an update. It restarted and when I turned it back on, the computer gave me a message that said "preparing your desktop" before I could log in. When I logged in, it was almost as if the computer was brand new - the desktop theme was new, it said my mouse was ready to use, and then it said that internet explorer 10 was updated. I clicked on Firefox as usual, expecting it to give me the screen where it asks me if I want it to restore all of my tabs, and it was the Mozilla home page and firefox was barebones in the sense that it didn't have any of my add-ons, or even the basic, file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, tools, help buttons on the screen. When I went into the history, it only had today listed, and no websites!!! I am freaking out and I really need to know how to get everything back to the way it was. I had a Personas add-on with 36 backgrounds that I adored, and I don't want to have to go back and re-download all of my add-ons, not to mention there is no way, I would be able to remember or pick up where I left off with all of those tabs I need for work. That is a Windows temporary profile, not the fault of Firefox, but something (possibly a windows update, they rolled a bunch out today) corrupted your Windows profile. http://www.sysprobs.com/fix-temporary-profile-windows-7 can help you, this will also bring back your Firefox data.

In hindsight it is unfortunate that you did not go to Menu > Office > File mgr. > Memory card > Options > Backup phone memory (to memory card) prior to reset and after format of memory card!

There is no "Organize Bookmarks" on my Bookmark tab and I don't know how to import html bookmarks from old computer, which is now dead, per the instructions.

I saved my old bookmarks as part of my regular backup from my old computer. It died this week and I just bought a new computer. The instructions for importing an html file with bookmarks says to open the Organized Bookmarks tab under Bookmarks. My computer does not have this bookmark and I can't find anywhere else how to import the html file with my old bookmarks. The old computer used Windows XP and this one has Windows 7.

"Organize Bookmarks" has been renamed to "Show All Bookmarks" in the bookmarks menu. The rest of the instructions will be the same.

Make sure that you do not use [http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History Clear Recent History] to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox.
Also please make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.
You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Preferences > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Preferences > Privacy > History: Firefox will: Use custome settings for history. Uncheck "Always use permanent Private Browsing mode"

What did you update with what? Are we talking a computer? A device like an iPhone? You updated iTunes? You updated the operating system?
If you updated the iOS on a device, I believe it warns you it will erase the device and you should make a backup first. Restore from the backup.
iPhoto is an application pretty much separate from iTunes. There is an iPhoto forum if you are having problems with that application.

If those tabs aren't in History > Recently Closed Tabs or Windows then they are probably lost.
You can try to search them in the History if you haven't bookmarked them.
Using the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting is a more reliable way to restore session data.

When you sync with itunes on your computer make sure you have all the songs that you want to sync selected in the music tab in itunes when you connect your phone. Also with your phone connected click on the tones tab and make sure all the ringtones you want are selected there then sync

I did a reset of my phone yesterday and now when I go to purchaed to download my paurchsed tabs there is nothing there.
I see them in my ipad but they are not in my itunes app section either.
I searched for one in the app store and it usually said "open" or had the cloud icon with the little arrow to downlaod again (free). But none of that shows up at all this time. All the apps that I'm missing show up in the pp store for me to buy again like I never purchased them at all!
What's going on?

I just wanted to add this information to my post:
I have purchaed, free and paid, 618 apps.
In my phone apps to add to my phone when I plug it in my computer only 266 apps show up.
In my itunes "puerchased list" only 266 show up.
Thank God I have not updated my ipad. There I went to my "purchased" under the ALL list in the app store and there I do see my 618 apps!
Where did my other 352 apps go? Which many were paid.
I want my apps back.

It seems I have lost all sound on YouTube and Real Player videos I try to play. I'm not sure if this applies to other applications as well, and neither am I sure if this happened after I installed the new Quicktime software update (it seems not, but I could be wrong). This is why I'm posting this here.
Music plays fine in iTunes and I have sound for most other applications I use.
What could be wrong?

I had this problem post 6.1. Not sure if it was a coincidence, but I'd just recently changed my password after being convinced I'd been hacked, due to being told I was entering my password wrongly, repeatedly by iCloud / iTunes. It turns out my iCloud account on my Settings -> Mail, Contacts and Calendars was listed as Inactive. Putting in my details, turning off Contacts over iCloud (thus deleting them) and turning them back on again, repopulated my contacts from iCloud with numbers attached to them.

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.
