"Your device is no longer locatable" message
If you see this message, Location Services (or Find My iPhone in iOS 3.x) was turned off on your lost device while you were using the app. You will not be able to locate your device anymore, but you can still display a message on its screen, have it play a sound, remotely lock it, or remotely wipe it.

  • HT1414 I had my ipod touch off and when I tried to turn it off the best I could get was the apple logo than that went out.  I can't get it come on at all.  It was working fine earlier and nothing has happen to it.

I tried to turn on my ipod touch and the best I could get was the apple logo and even that went out.  I tried charging it with no luck.  It had charge yesterday when I turned it off but now I can't get anything at all.  Any suggestions???

If the reset does not work try the remaining items:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I have a ipod touch 5 and when i was loading it up to my computer i chose to restore my last ipod, which had no camera. After all my music was loaded all of my photos i had taken with my ipod had been deleted. Is there any way i could get photos back?

I have a ipod touch 5 and when i was loading to my computer i chose to restore my data from my last ipod which did not have a camera. Then after all my music was uploaded i noticed that all the pictures i had taken on my new ipod had been deleted. I think it may be because i chose to restore my last ipod which no photos on it. I was wondering if there is any way to restore my lost photos?

If you backed up the iPod before restoring it then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
Also, if yoo have that backup you can extract the photos by:
Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

  • My computer will not recognize my ipod touch anymore. When I plug it in it says the USB device attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows doesn not recognize it.

My computer (PC) will not recognize my ipod touch anymore. When I plug it in, it says the USB device attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. I have tried attaching the same cord and ipod to a different computer and it is recognized by our mac. I have tried restarting the ipod, downloading all updates on my pc, restarting the pc, etc. Nothing has worked. Please advise.

    See:

    I would start with

  • I put a case on my iPod touch 5 and now there is no sound coming from the speaker.  The head phones work though.  I called Apple Support and the 2 people I spoke with seemed baffled.  Has this happened to anyone and how do I resolve this?

I put a Griffin case on my daughter's iPod Touch 5 and now there is no sound coming from the speaker.  There is sound when we use the headphones.  Is there a mute function that I may have switched on and if so how do I turn it off?
It was a gift bought by her Godparents in January and I live in the islands so I can't just drive it back to the store to have them look @ it!
Called Apple Support and spoke to 2 people who seemed baffled and who could only suggest I reset the device.  Who h has not helped.
    HELP!!!!!!!

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • I lost my ipod touch 4g and I have find my iphone on but I dont know how to find it. I need some help to track my stolen ipod touch 4g.

I need some help to track my lost ipod touch 4g

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled or the iPod been completely restored).
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police in case someone turns it in, and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).
    Regards.

  • HT201318 i lost my ipod touch yesterday  and i havent been able to update my icloud as i was out of storage so all my photos are lost? Anyway on how to get it back somehow the photos?? please help

hi, i took tons of pics on my ipod touch and the last couple of months i didnt update the photos using the icloud due to missing icloud space and forgot to actually purchase for more space . Now my ipod got stolen and wondering if there is anything the pics could be restored somehow?  any help is greatly appreciated

If they aren't backed up to iCloud or iTunes, and you didn't import them to your computer, there's no way to get them back.

  • HT1459 Ok , I lost my Ipod touch 5g and I don't know the serial number!

I have my icloud and apple account information except my Ipod is not linked to my Accounts.. Also My ipod is DEAD this is a $300 ipod touch that has been missing for 2-3 months! Please Help!

If you did not setup the iPod with your Apple ID and did not link it to iCloud there is nothing anyone can do to help you.  The serial number is of no help.  Only turning on Find My on the iPod and linkng to iCloud can be used to find the iPod.

  • I lost my Ipod touch.  Can all your information be wipe out by the person?

How easy is it for someone to break into your ipod touch if there is a code?

    - If you previously turned on the FIndMyiPod feature and location service is on, and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud, sign in, and go to FindMyiPhone. If found you can erase/wipe the iPod. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - Report to police and change the passwords fro all accounts used on the iPod.
    - Apple will not help
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
If you have a four didget passcode then maybe it can be guessed. Otherwise it is pretty hard.

  • I have the ipod touch 2nd and it says im disabled for 22,051,536 minutes how do i restart?

i am repairing the lcd glass in the ipod touch 2nd ge and it says ipod disabled for 22,051,536 i mean i can repair the ipod lcd glass but he wount be able to use it for 15313 days/ 41 years. . . . . lol so im just wounder if i un solder the battery will it restart on its own or is there something i could do diffrently. thanks everyone he get his ipod back in 1 week any answer will be nice.

    Restore...
Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.
Of course, you can always wait for 22,051,536 minutes!

  • IPod touch stolen and passwords changed but I'm concerned about the saved emails.

My ipod touch got stolen and I changed all my passwords to emails and accounts. If the stealer tries to open up the email account will the ipod touch automatically delete all the already downloaded emails or will those downloaded emails always be there?

Unless you remotely wiped the iPod, the alrady downloaded email are viewable on the iPod if they can get past your screen-lock.
If you had already set up the FindMyiPod feater  (Setting>iCloud) and wif is on you may be able to wipe the iPod by going to icloud.com, loging in and going to FindMyiPhone,
