I'm dumping old downloads...

...that I don't need and there's an app called "Hand Brake" that won't go away. How do I kill this thing?
I don't remember ever downloading it, but after getting my old data transfered to this new machine, there it is.
I trashed a bunch of stuff and when I tried to empty the trash, this app wouldn't allow it.
I removed the app and emptied the trash, then put "Hand Brake" in there by it's self.
Can't get rid of it.

I actually got rid of it shortly after I asked the question, by putting the app on my desktop, then dragging it to the trash.
I was able to empty the trash after that.
No idea why it worked, but it did.

Hi,
I'm getting a dump while downloading the ALV (Grid) report into an excel file.
When i inspected, the dump was - " Only character-type data objects are supported at the argument position "obj". In this particular case, the operand "obj" has the non-charcter-type type "P". "-
i'm having few currency values to be displayed.
Thought of an alternative my moving the values into char type field and to display it, but the values are getting rounded of.

All the internal fields to be char type..if download functionality to be given..
if there is any issue in doing this...
create any another field in ur table(internal ) of type c length same like ur coressponding currency or quatity field....
move these fields into ur new char field and then prepare fieldcatlog on this..

It as always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use this to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purcahses

This dump you are getting because of type mismatch, just change the file path as follows :-
data declaration should be like this.

You should be able to make changes to your apple id information (and in your case it seems like you need to change your rescue email in the "security and privacy" section) by logging into your account at appleid.apple.com

Hi,
I was using Apple Mail to store some old email messages/attachments that I downloaded from a business gmail account.
I no longer work for that company and my business gmail account is inactive so I can't access it online.
I used to be able to access my old email messages/attachments that were downloaded into Apple Mail, but
since the OS 10.9 upgrade, Apple Mail is empty.
The other threads seem to have solutions that sync Apple Mail with active email accounts online.
How do I retrieve my old downloaded messages/attachments?

It sounds like you are not seeing emails that were downloaded before the Mavericks upgrade. I suggest reindexing the emails in your Inbox with the following article:

If Mail detects problems with information in your mailboxes, it may need to repair the mailboxes by reindexing your messages.
At other times, you may want to reindex messages yourself—for example, when searching mailboxes using Subject, To, or From doesn’t return the correct results.
Quit Mail if it’s open.
In ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData, delete any file that begins with “Envelope Index,” such as Envelope Index or Envelope Index-shm.To show your home Library folder, hold down the Option key, then in the Finder choose Go > Library.
Open Mail.Mail creates new Envelope Index files. This process may take a few minutes, depending on how many messages Mail is reindexing.

I want the old download display back! Library font is too small, do NOT want the sidebar!

Just upgraded to 20.0 on XP SP3 - not interested in 'library' display; font is too small to read, do not need/want the sidebar, and need/want the % complete to show as it did in the old download display.
Also, how do I turn off the distracting and stupid fade-in/fade-out large green arrow on download completion - again not something I'm interested or have any use for.

The green arrow, like other toolbar controls, can be hidden by using the Customize feature. Kick that off by doing either of these:
* right-click a blank area of the Tab bar > Customize
* View menu > Toolbars > Customize
Drag the unwanted arrow into the dialog with the other unused buttons, the click Done.

When clicking File on top of this page a dropdown box shows Open File and when doing so many old downloads are there. How can I delete the entire batch at once.

When I click on Filed(in upper left hand corner of screen) a drop down box appears which includes several choices including Open File. When I click on Open File it shows many old downloads which I don't want or need to save. I can delete them individually but there are many many of them. hello cardavfl, i think in the open file dialog in the windows file picker you only can select one item at a time.
it would be better to look at the top of the file dialog ("look in:") where this folder is located on your harddrive & then use windows explorer & go to this path - then you can press ctrl+a to select all items at once (or use the mouse to select them all) and to delete them ...

Nope. All iTunes content is forever tied to the Apple ID used to obtain it. Such cannot be transferred to another ID.

Your six year old likely purchased in-app purchases. Did you not disable in app purchases?
