I'm in deep trouble and tears with 10.6.5, Pse help

Question

Have a big job to finish on my iMac, my primary machine.
Was running just fine on 10.6.4 but installed 10.6.5 downloaded off the normal software update, so I can update my iPad when OS4.2 comes out. The installation appeared to go fine. Machine restarted, installed downloaded files, and then automatically restarted as I presume it is intended to
*Then, just the start up sound and straight to a white screen.
*Tried to zap PRAM. Didnt work.
*Then and this is where it gets ugly, put in bootable CD with Disk Warrior to boot from CD. Didnt work. Tried every trick to eject CD from holding down the mouse, to Cmd Opt Shift Del. Nothing will eject the start up CD.* Nothing will take the white screen away.
Now I have a white screen, a CD stuck in the drive that wont eject or boot the Mac, a job to finish and I just am quite desperate!!* In fact its hard not to have a panic attack right now.
This morning it was fine. Now its not. I'm trying hard not to curse Apple.
*Please, please assist with some advice. I'm in South Africa and there are serious limits to what people know here.*
Nothing works. Im really scared I'm going to be in for a big bill to dismantle the machine to get the CD out and lose all my data as a result of the upgrade that wont boot.

Don't curse Apple. You must have tried updating a dysfunctional system resulting in corrupted system files. Unfortunately this means you will have to reinstall OS X. Fortunately doing so will not erase your drive.
First: Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive
Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the left mouse button until the disc ejects.
2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
4. Press COMMAND-E.
5. If none of the above work try this:
Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
/usr/bin/drutil eject.
If this fails then try this:
Boot the computer into single-user mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes.
Once the disc is ejected do the following: Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Reinstall OS X as you normally would and just follow the onscreen instruction. Your files and data will not be removed. After reinstallation the machine should restart normally. Reinstallation may take 45 minutes to an hour and a half, typically.
Last: Download 10.6.5 Combo Updater and install the update. You should be good to go.
