What's I'm trying to do is take 20 cells in a column, find the 10 lowest numbers, then get the average and after that multiply it by .96 I used to use Excel and the formula worked fine in that. Here is my Formula
=(average(small(H201:H220,{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10})))*.96
This formula worked in Excel and when I converted my spreadsheet over to Numbers, this formula no longer works.
The best that I have been able to do so far is use small in 10 different cells, then get the average of the 10 cells and finally multiply that average by .96 So instead of using 1 cell, I'm using 12 cells to get my answer.
This is a formula that I will be using all the time. The next cell would be =(average(small(H202:H221,{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10})))*.96

You can still do it in one cell but it will be more unruly than the Excel array formula.
=average(small(H201:H220,1),small(H201:H220,2),small(H201:H220,3),...,small(H201:H220,10))*0.96
where you would, of course, replace the "..." with the remaining six SMALL functions.

you will not see the audio meters from within fcp move while capturing.
If you only see the captured clip in the finder, not within fcp, there's something wrong. You might try deleting your fcp preferences

When I turn on my iMac it comes up with the icon which I then log into. The password works and I then get the apple icon and the spinning wheel. After a minute it turns into a prohibited icon. If I log on the guest icon I get to Safari. Help!

Are you running any A-V? If it's an iMac 21.5, I don't think you're running Leopard, 10.5. Probably at least Snow Leopard, 10.6. This is the Leopard forum.

Try a Safe Boot. Shift at the startup chime and expect a much longer time to boot. This will bring you to a login screen with "Safe Boot" in red.

Hi, i really need help... I think i by accident deleted the "download manager" i´m not shore what the program is called in English ( Swedish : filhämtaren), but its symbol looks like a grey little box and when you download a file it appears on a list and is then saved in this program. I don`t know how i didn´t see it in the trash, but somehow i deleted this program by mistake. And as a consequence i can no longer open/download any files. I just got my macbook pro and i do love the system but i am now unsure about what i should do with this problem since i am not that terribly good with computers.... Is there any way you can fix this?

It's called an "installer.app"
You can custom install the "installer.app" directly from your System DVD that originally came w/your computer. It will be either inside the "Bundled Software" folder or inside the "Applications" folder.

Normally if a Mac does not recognize a keyboard it asks you to press certain keys to identify the keyboard. What is happening on screen with this keyboard? What serial number are you referring to?

You're not alone - I haven't found a reliable solution, and keep hoping it doesn't happen that often.
I just click on that icon...if that doesn't work, a dialog usually pops up asking if the account should be brought back online. I suspect you've been thru this part tho

Transferring playlists
If you want not only your content but also your playlists to exist on your new computer, you will want to transfer a copy of all your playlists from your old computer. To do this, choose File > Library > Export Library on your old computer. Save the XML file that is created to your desktop.
Send the playlists file to yourself as an e-mail attachment, use an external drive, or use file sharing to move the playlists file to your new computer. Once the file is on your new computer, open iTunes and choose File > Library > Import Playlist. The import process will remove any items from the playlists that you didn't share via Home Sharing.

what I want to do is to convert a String and convert it to a Object then get the classname of the Object.
for example:

I want to convert the string "classObject" into an Object, then get the Class name of the Object. (Let's just say I don't know what the Class name is)

Getting very frustrated

Well I did it! After over 3hours of frustration on the website logging here & there to find someone to ASK a question I eventually called a phone number & a lovely Apple lady answered. With the Serial Number YES they can look up the IMEI number for your (after I answered all the security questions correctly to ensure it was my phone) they emailed it to my registered email with the apple account.
I couldn't look it up as everyone suggested as had lost the phone & didn't have laptop with me that had iTunes (everyone's other suggestion).

When I install the program, all go good but when i open the program, it say: iTunes was not installed correctly, Please reinstall Itunes, After i do this but the same

After multiple installations of iTunes it can be frustrating when the issue isnt resolved. I was able to locate the following knowledge base article that specifically addresses the "Error 7" you are recieving.

The Resolution section has different steps depending on what version of the Windows Operating System you're using. Since it can be a bad installation of these Windows files, pay close attention to the instructions on repairing if the file already exhists.

I suspect that you'll have to mount that volume at boot time and not at login time as you're doing now. If you can arrange that, then the volume should be available to all users.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do a boot-time mount. I tried searching for "mount drive startup mac" (without the quotes), but most of the results described how to mount a volume at login time. Ignore any advice that mentions "Login Items".
I did find this discussion, but it's very sketchy. You also have to be careful that any advice you find applies to the version of OS X that you're using.

[Automator] Using an ls command and then getting the finder items?

So i want to make an automator app that looks for all external hard drives and then ejects them. Unfortunatly to my experimentation you cant use the finder actions to search in the root directory so i simply added a shell script with
ls /Volumes
which works.
then i have a Filter finder items so it doesnt try to eject the Macintosh HD
then i have eject Disk.
The problem lies in that the shell script does not spit out finder items to the filter so the filter throws a warning because it isnt supplied the required data.
My question is, how do i get the shell script to pass down finder items to the filter so everything else runs through smoothly?
EDIT: i have python installed if that helps for simplicity i also know a small bit of C

Where did he say that? He only stated that he wanted to avoid ejecting the HD, which isn't possible in any case.
If avoiding .dmg is the issue, one way would be to hard code the possible disk names by using a list like this:
Replace the example volume names with your own volume names inside the curly brackets below;
Names must be quoted and comma separated as shown.
Spaces in names ARE allowed. You can name as many or as few volumes as you wish.

So I have a text file and I want it to find all the lines in the file that contain an @ symbol and then I want it to get that line and the line second and fourth from that line. Then I would export it like this:

Finding the lines with an @ symbol is easy, but how would I tell it to get the second and fourth line after the line with an @ symbol?
So I would get the lines with something like this:
