I’m no longer able to click and open AI file from my folder.
Error messege: Unable to open... insufficient file....
Evertime I open AI file, I need to reopen the illustrator software and then click the AI file from saved files.
Please help.
Not enough information. What OS? What version of AI? Where are the files located? Do they open from the File menu in AI?

I have recently updated my CC programs to the latest version (CC2014) and now all of my files wont open by default into their respective programs, only if I open the program and go to file>open and open the file from there. How can I fix this?
I have tried 'Open with' and the version of the program now installed on my computer isn't even suggested as an option and when I browse for it, the file wont open with it anywayOn Windows (don't know about Mac), the latest version will always take over the file association, and become the default for indd files. It's impossible to change it.
But there is a plugin for ID that makes this possible. Never tried it myself.

CS6 No longer able to CLICK & OPEN AI file from my folder

If you are double clickkng on a .ai file and that does not open, then you to update a setting in your operating system is not recognizing what program .ai files should open with.
This is easily done by
Windows - right click choose properties
Mac- Command I on any .ai file
Chaneg opens with and select your application, then click change all -
Why can't I click and open my Skydrive from the favorites bar in finder?
I am able to do this for Google Drive and also Copy, so I should be able to do the same for Skydrive.
So how come I cannot click on Skydrive in the favorites bar in finder? I can click on everything else but when I try to click skydrive it is as if I clicked on the window outside of finder where it would be inactive. I want to be able to open my skydrive from finder (in favorites) so how can I fix this?
Please and thanks for any answers at all in advanceIf I understand correctly you want the title to appear on top of a later video clip so both title and clip are visible. The problem is the "whites" background which is both making the background opaque and stopping you from pasting it above another clip. If you just select and drag the title by itself, the background will be transparent so the video clip below will show through. You should also be able to copy and paste it directly above the clip you want.
If you want different parts of the title to have a special effect you will have to edit each instance after you have made and positioned the copies.

Previously, when I got an email with an attached file, I can take out the file to different folders as I desire and then a filelink would take the place of the file in the email. In this way, when I opened email again, I can click the filelink and open the attached file in the folder to which I had moved.
Now, I find that there is no more such filelink after I take out the file. The attached file cannot be opened within the email now. Is the program changed or I miss anything?did you install an add-on that did that? or are you thinking of another mail program like Eudora?

While I was working on my Mac last night, I got a message that I needed to download an Adobe (I think an Acrobat X Pro) update. I did. That seems to be the time when I started having problems. Now I can't use the uninstaller for the program. I think that may be the problem, but my ability to fix it stops here.
I'm usually more discerning about updates, etc, but I was working on a project and the flashing updater was bothering me, so I hit yes, not really looking at the app I was updating. Ugh. My mistake.Hi hobanny,
Have you looked at the [[Opening PDF files within Firefox]] Knowledge Base article? There is a lot of useful information in there. It actually lists two different plugins to try for opening PDF files. I'd try both of them just to be safe.

No longer able to copy and paste bullet format from slide to notes
In the prior version of Keynote, I could copy a bulleted outline from my slide to my notes, and it would appear in the same format. I can no longer get an automatic bulleted format for my notes. Any way to manage this?

That is very odd that it does not give you the option to copy the text when you tap or long hold on the word. Does this happen in all websites or just some? When you are in a text message or email does it still let you tap or the work and copy the text?

There are many web sites that I visit to download statements that are in PDF format. In Firefox 3.6, when I selected a statement to download, Firefox opened a new window that indicated that the PDF is being downloaded. When the download is complete Firefox either opens the document or the document is opened outside of Firefox by Adobe Reader. In both Firefox 4 and 5, the PDF file download never occurs. This functionality has always worked in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. I currently use Adobe Reader X 10.1.0. I tried going back to Adobe Reader 9.4.5, but this did not make a difference. So I think the problem is in Firefox.

Windows Server 2008 R2 clients can't double click to open Office files
Let me start by saying I don't know too much about Server 2008.
I have Server set up so desktop clients (Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) can log in as their user on their own machines. On two of the client machines (mine and my bosses, I have admin rights on everything) a couple funny things are happening:
1. Can't open a Word or Excel file by double clicking the icon on the desktop. Error is as follows:
Excel
Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART\PERSONAL.XLSB'. There are several possible reasons: The file name or path does not exist. The file is being used by another program.
The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
Word
The file Normal.dotm cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents.
and then
Word cannot open this document template. (C:\Users\(username)\...\AVWiz14s.dotm)
and then
Word cannot open the existing file. (Normal)
and then Word stops responding.
Note that I can open these documents normally from the start menu. I have determined this error has something to do with the server because I have tried a bunch of stuff on the internet, including an Excel hotfix, which did nothing.
2. Desktop icons flicker, rearrange themselves, and even disappear completely at times. I do not know what causes this, but I do believe this is a server issue.
3. I get recycle bin errors every time I log in, and every time I try to delete anything:
The Recycle Bin on \\intecserver\Office Employee Files\kneureuter\My Documents\My Videos is corrupted. Do you want to empty the Recycle Bin for this drive?
Sometimes I get that error for 3-4 different directories.
What I've tried:
I tried reinstalling Office, and that made no difference.
I have the drive from the server "Office Employee Files" mapped to network drive Y:. I can open that and go to my account folder on there, navigate to "Desktop" and open the files from there, but not on the physical desktop on my
computer.
These files aren't shortcuts on the desktop, their permanent home is on the desktop.
Just to reiterate, if I moved these files into a folder on the desktop, they will open fine. If I open them from within Excel or Word, they open fine. If I open them from the server drive mapped onto my terminal, they open fine. Just can't
open them by double-clicking the file if it is directly on the desktop. Any ideas?
I logged onto my account from a different computer and double-clicking to open the files worked fine on that computer. Both computers running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and Office 2010 Pro. So that limits it to this machine and my bosses machine.
Since you can't create a shortcut for something on the desktop, I created a new folder on the desktop and put the files in that folder. From there I created a shortcut and put that on the desktop. That worked!
However, that's just a band-aid. I need to fix this problem sooner than later.

If the Desktop or the My Documents folder is redirected to a network location, Office applications may exhibit the similar issues .

Read and List the Files from Remote Webserver Path
Hi All,
I have requirement where i need to Read and List the files from a Folder of Remote webserver path using JAVA.
Remote webserver is within the network only...No Firewall and also Access is given to Read the folder. No Issues on this.
Folder will just contain some PDF files...
I just need to display the PDF file names available in the Folder..
No need to read the PDF File...Only required to read the folder to list the file names in it.
Looking forward some workaround to this.

No longer able to drag and drop files to an iPhone in iTunes.
I accidentally unplugged my iPhone 3G before it was finished syncing in iTunes and I lost all of music, playlist, podcasts, etc. I had copied to it. The problem I am now having is that I can no longer drag and drop anything to my iPhone in the Devices list. The only way that I can now get files onto it is by syncing with my existing play lists, etc from iTunes. I can't even select it in the Devices list and create a new playlist on it by clicking the new playlist button at the bottom. I really liked the option to just drag whatever I wanted onto it. It's really a pain now. It does sync properly, so thankfully that works.
Does anyone know why I know why I'm no longer able to drag and drop music, etc. to an iPhone in iTunes.
ThanksMan, I can't believe it...that was the fix. I had it checked previously, obviously because that's how I was doing it before. Don't know how it got unchecked, but that IS the solution. I thought something bad had happened and wasn't thinking clearly – feel like an idiot now.

I am no longer able to drag and drop my downloaded files
in yahoo. i, on a daily basis receive about 10 pdf documents and several .dxf files. also autocad .dwg files and jpg files. pretty much any file i have to work with comes to me in my email.
i used to be able to select the file, then download it. after i was done downloading it i could open my download library, and drag and drop the file onto my desktop or other open folder on my pc.
suddenly. i cannot.
i have changed browsers for the time being and will not be able to continue with firefox until this is solved.
i am running firefox 20.0.1 and windows vista sp1im glad that somebody is atleast trying. perhaps i need to be more clear.
i will step by step describe the issue in detail.
1) i open an email that contains an attachment .dxf or .pdf
2) i click on the attachment shown in the email and aprompt comes up asking if i want to open or save the attachment.
3) i select save. (by default it saves to a downloads folder. but i have also chosen to use other folders (when i did that it wouldnt save them)
4) i highlight the downloads arrow on the right top side of my browser and click it
5) it pulls down a list of the files that i USED to be able to click and drag onto my destop, or anyplace i chose
6) used to be when i clicked and held the left mouse button down on top of a file of my choosing it would highlight and as i began to drag, a ghost image would appear of the file i was dragging. showing a (/) symbol next to it showing i couldnt drop the file within the browser and a + simbol showing that i could drop the file when the file was hovering over a place where i could drop the file such as my desktop or other folder. now, when i click and hold on the file.... I DONT get anything. when i drag. nothing follows. while i am "dragging" in the area that is my browser, i get the pointy finger icon. as soon as i enter an area where i could have dropped the file as before, i get my standard cursor arrow.
its really as if the drag and drop feature just dosent work IN FIREFOX.
i can drag and drop files all day long everyplace else. -

Ricardo, It changed in iTunes 11.
With the playlist open, click on the View menu, View Options, and then set the "Sort By" field to "Manual Order." Then you can drag songs up or down.
If you don't see the View menu, you may have your Menu bar hidden. In that case, unhide it first, by using CTRL-B. -
Sometimes when using the Google search engine, after using the Back button in the Firefox 4.0.1 browser, I am no longer able to click in the Google search box.
This problems has been occurring on two different machines over the last two days.I think this may not be a browser problem but rather a Google problem.
